No, Blizzard have already pointed out they did not make it, they do not use it and it was made with no input from them at all, and specifically the Overwatch team literally did not even know it was being made. King, the woefully-overlooked third of the company, are the ones who made the 'diversity space tool' and put Overwatch characters (as well as Nintendo characters) in as examples for their GDC slide show. ABK have literally admitted this, publicly, and it has been widely reported on. I swear, I love Pat and Woolie, but sometimes they and almost always their viewers seem to not read a single word beyond the headlines and prioritise getting in those sweet sweet reddit dunks over doing even the most basic degree of research.

They probably never used it... but they probably submitted a design, and the higher ups had a meeting. Afterwards, they gave the artist "some suggestions" on "how to tweak the design a little bit". Because let's be honest- you don't get something this detailed yet inconsistent unless there were several people up top with some very strong opinions that were really into the idea. So they might not tell you that this is being used, but they have this in the back of their head when they meddle.

@@lemeres2478 Well this came from King Games and they did a GDC talk in 2017. Overwatch came out in 2016 and King Games was bought in 2015. So I don't think there would be enough time for Overwatch's original cast to be subjected to the diversity chart. It seems like the diversity chart only used OW as a mock up and to cash in on "good" PR this year. Honestly I think any fuck up on character design and story is all natural. Like I'm sure there is lots of factors but i think the devs just didn't implement their ideas well and often come off as pandering unlike something such as Street Fighter
