So Atkins put together a 2024 team with no power, can’t hit for average, can’t hit in the clutch and has no speed on the bases even though it has one of the highest payrolls in baseball. He hires a manager that hasn’t an original idea in his head and a hitting department that has not made one single player better and lot of them worst. You saw an example of that last night when they took a hot Clements out and put in a stone cold Springer. I’m sure Analytics told Schnieder to do that 🤷‍♂️

In 2021 they were about 5 game back, but they had a reason to go for it. Ray was on his way to a CY while Vladdy and Semien were MVP candidates...and they missed by one game. Problem with Springer is that they keep using him as the face of the Club in commercials and still have him under contract for another two and a half years. Maybe you run ONE of Springer, KK or Turner out there, but not all 3! Springer's saving grace is that hes still an elite outfielder. One could argue the same for KK but Varsho can handle CF and it would be easier to release someone on a one year deal than it would Springer.

Try to improve our pitching, honestly, I am not convinced that Romano is a legit closer on a contending team. Most important of all we need to ax Schneider and Atkins.

Atkins needs to go first, then the replacement GM can make the retooling moves. They need a new head hitting coach as well and a new manager that can wrangle the team and get them playing better. I think they should trade Bo to the Dodgers for close-to-ready prospects that will help in the next year or two. I don't think Bo will re-sign with the Jays, and I don't think they will spend on Bo and Vladdy anyway...

Whoever is complaining about Davis not being in the line up is a big dummy! The guy sucks! he is a .200 hitter, with a paddle bat swing and high strike out rate (Hello Smoak, Hello Chapman, Hello Varsho) who lean into one, once in a while, but that's it. Batters with these long power swings like they are swinging a canoe paddle are always low average hitters with a bit of pop. Hate these types, they are frustrating - but because the potential for a long ball is there, the fans love 'em. Strike out, after non-bat contact, after strike out, and the fans in T.O luv them. Has Davis had a hit in his first AB as a lead off hitter, I mean even ONE? This team is a bad mix: John Schneider has made bad move after bad move since he was hired, last play off being the biggest glaring 'oof, and can't hold his players to a higher standard (get the best out of them like a leader does!). The line-up lacks two key type of hitters - one who with a high average/high on base percentage, and a home run hitter. Atkins has made this team offensively worse than the 2019 team. Shapiro has never won a thing..
