Unleashing the Royal Enfield Himalayan on the inaugural run of the Billy Goat loop in west central Virginia.
Excuse the audio popping, I edited out as much as I could. Some footage was lost due to camera issues but I think I got enough to showcase the ride.

Wow what some beautiful country side looks amazing, what a pleasure that must be to ride in, some incredible places to camp away from the madness in the world 👍

it took me a while to find all of this and link the spots together, living only 6mi away from this loop gives me somewhere to get away from everything. Most locals don't even know what's back there.

Amazing ride Uncle V!!! Thanks for doing this and taking the time and effort to come up with this loop. Would love to ride this one day. Please keep doing what you do. Cheers and best wishes from Champlain N.Y.

Yeah, I thought about some of the trail videos I had done in the past and realized that people might appreciate knowing where they are and the ability to come do the rides themselves.

Great ride. You gave a fantastic tutorial of the trails and what pretty scenery. Yes that would have been a nice camping spot. I feel you may have a camping ride in the close future. I hope so. Cheers mate.

there is a few camping spots in there, what I like about it the is the water crossings to reach them - its a safety thing in my mind as it makes you less of a target of opportunity and your campsite is more secluded and private.

Thanks for taking us along, U.V. This is a wonderful array of dual sport roads. I’d love to make this run on my little Honda CRF300 Rally, with camping gear. I bought my ‘06 KLR650 ,used, in ‘07 with about 3,000 miles on it. It’s still my daily rider, with over 80,000 miles on it now, and still performs like brand new. Happy Trails!

Thanks for sharing this back woods ride. Miss the trails in NC sometimes but I enjoy them here none the less. Just sold my grom to get a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. I'll be able to get a little farther out in my adventures without having to load the bike up in my trunk haha.

Its a great ride, it'll give riders something to do instead of just passing by.

That's a terrific trail ride thru the woods! You really put the Himalayan through its paces, and it didn't miss a beat going uphill, fully loaded in the rough stuff. Looks like you had fun too, chasing a few deer, and stopping at the lovely falls. Good one, man 👍

Thanks. I got to a point where I had actually ridden every trail in the area, so I figured linking the best stuff together would make for a pretty epic loop.

Man, hearing your story about the KLR650 reminded me of when I got my first dirtbike and I was 16. When to a friends house to ride and we went to go down some fields which were down the road from his house. I had a much quicker bike than my friend, I had an RM80 which was pretty new and he had a 15 year old CR80. I flew well past him down the road and was going to turn off onto the trail for the first time. There was gravel on the side of the road which my new riding ass didn't account for. Bike slid right out from under me as I hit the gravel and I went down. I looked at my bike and I broke my brake lever. I talked to my friends account of what he saw and as he came up the road, there was a little bit of a crest of a hill and he couldn't see me, but he could see my helmet flying across the field, because I threw it as I was so pissed I broke my lever haha.

Nice ride out UV. I tried to ride this. Did get a good start but got turned around and confused over half way thru. Low on fuel I had to go to the closest fuel stop and shut down the ride soon after. I had a GPS but it seemed confused too. The ride after crossing RT 60 at the top was awesome btw.

Dang, sorry you got turned around. I had hoped my instructions would be easy to follow. Was it after the first double track section through the woods?

Woodson, The Piney River crossing to Woodson rd is where it went wrong. I stayed on the left of the river then circled around to little Piney Rd and tried to go northwest and ran into dead ends. Low on gas, went east out to Rt 151 and ended it. I will complete your Billy Goat loop sometime I guarantee.@@UncleVoodoo

Some gravel cycling buddies ride in this area a few times per year. I used to live near Richmond, VA and rode my road bike along the BRP. Really miss VA now. Can't seem to get my wife to move back. Were you nervous riding solo out here your first time?

Fantastic footage,it's so much like Scotland but with better open trails.Do you mind me asking how many miles your Himmy has on it now and apart from the clutch cable have you had any bother with it and does it burn any oil.I only ask about the oil as there's a bike tour company in Scotland that uses Royal Enfields and one of the guys said there's used half a litre over 500 miles.I thought that was excessive.I don't know how many miles it had done. Many thanks for entertaining me for an hour.
