Love you too, guys. I really appreciate you both. I know you two weren't the biggest fans of the game, but I'll always have a soft spot for it. Though my ranking would be vastly different, you brought up fantastic points for every boss, and I understand your reasoning and rankings on all of them, though it should be taken into consideration that I played the game single-player. Also, I'm definitely looking forward to some long-form content, I'm happy to be hearing you'll be doing some. Glad you're back, and I'm always looking forward to more.

I'll admit to knowing nothing about No Straight Roads but as a digital artist I love Sayu. The tiny references to drawing softwares, those "nodes" that look like floppy disks mixed with those things in model kits you have to pop out (not sure how to describe them), the acknowledgement that it often takes a full team for these sorts of projects. I think the only thing directly related to vtubing is the glowsticks, everything else is a reference to digital art creation, which is really neat!

Interesting, tbh the gameplay rarely did it for me, though I played the game when it was released, not sure how much has changed since then. But basically I thought that most bosses were kinda samey in their mechanics, which were on top kinda janky. But worst of all the fights felt "very indirect" with Sayu probably being the worst offender. So I would rather rate these fights for the music and setpieces, like I know what they were going for in the Eve fight, but the presentation seemed so ambitious, that the actual gameplay wasn't just up to the task, to convey these special moment feelings. So all in all I would probably put up Yinu on top I really liked the story overall that was told during the fight and the music was just chefs kiss as a lover of piano music. As for Tatiana I think they really wasted a lot of potential there, in my headcanon the fight was a lot different. Like you know she is an alter ego of this Kul Fyra person Mayday adores. So how about making her (obvious) plot twist reveal being Kul Fyra within the fight? At the point you think won against her and her horrible EDM music, she begins to pull up a desperation move, she says some badass line like "I never meant going this far, but suppose I have no choice than to fight against fire with fire" or something similiar along the line, then she pulls down her hair, that is flaming hot. Suddenly she materializes an electric guitar and you have an Rock vs Rock battle, were Mayday struggles during the fight "that music lovers should never be pitted against each other" but then with the help of her friends she gets a grip of herself and fights in an epic final battle to show Tatiana (now "Kul Fyra") the wrongs of her ways. During the fight the music is first very fierce and brutal but the further you come it changes more and more into a more calm but powerful post-rock ballad, that fits to the theme of "insight". This is why I never liked the fight in the first place, because it could never match my phantasy haha! 😄

Good to see y'all are back, hope y'all are happy and healthy. I've never even heard of this game before but it looks kinda fun, I'd just rather play Hi-Fi Rush though lol. Jack your video on GRIME pushed me to try out the game when it was available on PS+ Extra, and I really enjoyed it! Got the plat and will do a NG+ run at some point. Did you play the newest DLC? It's a pretty damn fun platforming challenge, and where I think the game shines the brightest actually (I'm a bit torn on the combat)
