Ironically, at this point, the only thing that Homelander could have done that would have genuinely surprised and impressed Stillwell is the one thing no supe in his world ever does: Be an actual superhero. IE, actually use your powers to help people. Stop crimes, help in disaster areas, fuckin save a cat that's stuck up a tree. You know, Superman stuff. All the things the public thinks he does and what they advertise him to do. But he's so brainwashed and predictable, that was never going to happen.

Stillwell made a really good point: Homelander had power like no man has ever had, and he did what countless men have already done before with it, so generic it’s almost disappointing.

While I won't say that the Boys comic is in my top 10 favorites, it's not even close, This does show that it isn't pure dogshit like everyone says it is. They wouldn't be making a show about it if there was nothing salvageable about it.

People shit on the comics, but it had PLENTY of great moments including this one.

It’s actually crazy how much of this got repurposed into the show. And don’t think I’m not already considering how stillwell’s endgame is likely matching edgar’s. Keep in mind this is being written at the time of the S4 premiere, but I predict that Stan Edgar will ultimately get what he said he wanted during his V24 conversation with Dakota Bob. The supes will run their course, and vought can justify becoming a pure defense and pharmaceutical company. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if Butcher becomes the final boss specifically because Vought offers him a cure if he uses his grit and know how to track down every last supe, including starlight.

Homelander not killing Stillwell is like a kid saying he’ll runaway but come back anyway.

I honestly prefer Stilwell over Stan Edgar. Whilst Stan is cool and all…I’ll say something which might be controversial but it’s true, Stan is literally The Boys version of Gus Fring, we all knew he might be ominously cold and corporate. But Stillwell? In this dub he comes across as some regular dude who doesn’t give a shit and it’s impressive.

I like how homelander breaks through one window to get in only to break a window right next to the one he broke to get in on his way out, it’s so petty and in-character for him

I hope season 5 has a scene similar to this with Homelander and Stan. With Homelander having finally snapped and overthrown the government and then goes to brag about his accomplishments to Stan only to Stan to make a badass speech about how no matter what Homelander does, Stan will always win, causing Homelander to spare Stan out of spite.

There's some person that Homelander constantly loses too, His powers make him a literal, God, among men and yet the man with no power constantly gets under his skin and gets the better of him through nothing but his words and attitude.
