Eventually Sherwood Schwartz would do the show: Together we Stand with Eliot Gould and Dee Wallace. But after 6 episodes, Gould's character was killed off and Dee Wallace was a single widowed mother under the new title Nothing is Easy; that ran for an additional 7 episodes (6 unaired).

@@emerybayblues In the early 2000s, John Ritter & Katey Segal were on a sitcom called '8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter,' but, then John Ritter had died. So the show had to kill off his character, thus making Katey Segal's character a single, widowed mother of 3 kids.

I believe this was the only attempted Brady spinoff. In short, I don't think the country was ready for a show such as that, certainly not at that time. This was when interracial couples were not even shown on TV. This was also the point when The Brady Bunch itself was kind of on its last leg as a show. The producers tried to spice it up with yet another Brady road trip (to the amusement park in Ohio), which utterly bombed, and then (ugh) bringing in Cousin Oliver. You know that a show is about to die when it tries to bring in the "cute factor" by adding a little kid to the cast.
@kenlompart99052 жыл бұрын
The show was suppose to go at lest another season but Sherwood Schwartz pulled the plug after Robert Reed walked off and refused to come back which is why it ends kind of abruptly with no real final show. As for the amusement park episode it was shot at Kings Island amusement park in Cincinnati, the studio owned the park and did it as sort of a promotion for the park, The Partridge Family which was also owned by the same studio did an episode there too.
@EahabIbrahim2 жыл бұрын
its interesting that because the show doesn't have a final episode, it has this feeling of being timeless. Like it doesn't end. So there is no "progression"
@jaredjlinden Жыл бұрын
Sherwood Schwartz didn’t pull the plug; ABC did. The show was declining in the ratings against Sanford and Son, the kids were getting older, and everyone’s contracts were up for renewal (new contracts would have made the show more expensive to produce). Plus ABC was well aware that Schwartz and Reed couldn’t work together any more. So the network cancelled it.

@jamesr1703 The little blond boy in this episode ('Matt') was Todd Lookinland. Todd is Mike Lookinland ('Bobby')'s younger brother *in real life.* You're right that they dyed 'Bobby's hair to make it darker like the dad, Peter & Greg's hair but under the lights on the set (they get extremely hot), the hair-dye kept 'running', so after awhile, they just stopped dying it altogether.
