Who thought it would be such a controversial motorcycle ? I loved it from the first time I saw it. But I looked at it with my eyes wide open and for what it was. A modern take on an old bike. As such it was never going to live up to the expectations of the old guard. But this is a recreation built to a price, unlike others such as the Norton commando or even the triumph Bonneville. The main question for me was of course the senses test. I think these were answered in my last review. In this review I am returning the bike after a few days of marvellous rides. The more I ride this bike, the more I loved it.

I thought you were going to give us a surprise ending ; an announcment that you had bought the bike and then you both ride blissfully off into the sunset 😂. But to be serious , I'm glad that it performs well for a single and I'm sure it'll be a grand bike for a lot of people . With a few modifications [exhaust , mudguards ] , I think I could get along with it , then I could cruise the streets challenging Panther riders to a race .

There's still a chance Goldie may have a last run out before the salt appears on the roads but he's pretty much done for this year. Harold the Himalayan is giving great service though, he's making an excellent winter ride so I can keep getting out when it's not too dire. Cheers.

Nice final video showing it's ability to get a wriggle on and overtake down those skinny ,slippery, back roads (typical Suffolk and Essex highways - Lol). Big shop with nice people and packed with bikes, but golly! it's a trek to and from by foot. I hope you had someone collect you and take you home.

One plus for the BSA must be the 24,000 mls valve check intervals.

That's massive gap between valve adjustment & I'm sure alot of people consider this.A RE is 10000km if you do high kms BSA be at top of the list.

@@ruahinesrider the Vstrom is similar and I thought the RE was 3k miles because mysteriously they changed it to 6k for the super meteor 🤔

@@TAYM Oh 😲 I had a Euro 4 model & it was 500km & then 10000km.I had mine done at 10k just before crash & one was a bit tight & rest ok & same at 500km one was a bit tight.Handbook says 10k. I saw Derek's video that said 6000km & it would be piece of mind to have done that regularly & do it yourself every 6000km & take it to Dealership every 10000km as per the manual says till warranty is finished then do it every 6000km.

@@TAYM I think 🤔 it is 10000km & says that in manual & Derek's video was more a recommendation from a RE mechanic that's why Super Meteor is 10000km.

Love mine you should get one you won't regret it. Had mine for 9 months without any problems and my local BSA dealer in West Lancashire is fabulous.

Looks to be a wonderful bike. I certainly could be sucked in. What I’m curious about is the dealer network and whether it’s made it to the States. Here in Idaho I’m in a bit of motorcycle dealership desert.

It’s definitely worth considering if you are in the market for a modern classic. Will be a tough decision for some on which bike to go for! But it’s a nice problem to solve.

Definitely a test ride in the new year with Mrs PGB 😊. Did anyone else notice they've sorted out the radiator shroud? Originally it was a single pressed steel item with nasty sharp edges and rather thin paint. The quiet update (proper side cheeks) looks far better. Hopefully, there's a kit for early adopters to do the same. There's quite a few (ex-demos?) around for only £5k 😊

Great overview TAYM, but no more than I would've expected, and as I've said before, given the wherewithal there'd be one in the mancave, I'd have to think long and hard before bolting a third wheel on it. Nice one again, cheers.

Sorry to hear someone bumped into you my phone crashed Mr.Taym thought someone had hacked me as well.....motor sounds great on the Birmingham. Always a parallel twin guy myself she has more photos of the t100 black today's supposed to hit about sixty I'll take her out once it starts to get nicer later on today. We're glad you're OK and rolling still.

Really enjoyed the vlogs. 😊. Had a look at the BSA and the royal enfield super meteor prefer the meteor. So going for a test ride tomorrow weather permitting. Chris.

Big difference between a twin and a single and of course the feet forward is totally different. It's what floats your boat.

Nice one TAYM I definitely have warmed to the BSA and it looks a proper classic no doubt ,it might be more comfortable for Mrs TAYM than Bertie I would think but you have to save up for the Rocket I reckon, would you swap it for Bertie ? I reckon it falls somewhere between Buddie and Bertie in the horsepower and fun steaks I guess but without doubt it would be Buddie for me 😉 . 👌👍

There's a solid thumbs up then 👍👍. On the first review I ever saw, it sounded like a cross between a lawnmower and a goldfish, but evidently that is not really the case 😁. It is great to have a choice of modern classics!

It's still on my list and I think that as a bike it's now acquired a critical mass of owners and companies that will support it. I'm sure TEC will be coming up with a hot cam for it soon. The one bike, missed out on the possible comparisons was the Moto Guzzi, although not a single, it does have that character. Cheers from a (still) soggy Cornwall where I am finding that my simple winterisation video has ballooned into a 4 part series!😉

Thanks LM 😁 it’s still in Orwell waiting for the insurance company to get back to them😡 the forks weren’t damaged 🤷‍♂️ apparently it was the headlamp, mudguard and fork guards creating an optical illusion 😁 so those will all be replaced and it will be back on the road 😁

nice ride ,,,, there are plenty of big singles around ,- ktm husq gas gas 700 , benelli ,,, yam 700 [686cc] , e,t,c but all have completely different styling , , after a while i realise this bike is NOT similar to the re 650 ;;;
