This is a video on how I detailed the head rest on this kit. Please note its inclusion is not listed in the Airfix built instructions. Please me a coffee to help me out with this channel :) www.buymeacoffee.com/banditxzxzf

I really admire the amount of time and effort you have put into such a small detail in the overall scheme of this build. The effort has certainly been worth it and the result is absolutely fantastic . Beautiful work Richard. 👏

Thank you. It’s all the fault of KZfaq. My models used to have an audience of one..me, now it’s many. It really makes you up your game. 😀

A lot of work, but in my view worth it. That headrest looks fantastic. Great job on this kit so far!

Fantastic bit of modelling skill, if taken from the same angle as the first picture, it would be very hard to distinguish between the two.

Have to agree that it looks fantastic. I will be stealing the plasticard idea but I have some bolt sets for my 1/35 armour that I might be able to use. Thanks for giving me some inspiration.

It seems the headrest was deleted in 1942 so you can consider it as optional. Probably retro fitted to personal taste. Yours looks amazing.

Thanks 🙏I have noticed them more common on current aircraft, not so much on wartime examples. Thanks for the input 😀👍

It is easier if you hold the drill in a light pin vice about 100 mm long! Do a couple of practice holes first, as it will feel different at first. Love the attention to detail, and the dimension checks to compare tom real life. This point is often overlooked, and can ruin the scale effect , even on a well made model.
@RichardsModellingAdventuresАй бұрын
Thanks Steve. I have a pin vice and a small electric drill but find I break the bits more often when using it. Scale dimensions do matter indeed, it's not always possible to achieve it but I do try. Thanks again for the input 🙏

I would have thought a circle cutter would do a cleaner job AND also give you a centre point as well.
@RichardsModellingAdventuresАй бұрын
I did mention in the video there are probably better ways to do this. I used what I had available as I don’t have a circle cutter, however I will be getting something similar. Thanks for the input 👍ps what kind of circle cutter will cut this small AND give a centre point?
@stevengriffin7873Ай бұрын
@@RichardsModellingAdventures Ok,I haven't watched all the video yet.Just throwing an idea out there.I have a circle cutter but no punches although I may well get a set off Ebay.
@stevengriffin7873Ай бұрын
@@RichardsModellingAdventures The circle cutter I have is basically a compass with a blade.The more expensive ones are probably better but I didn't feel like spending about three times as much.If the one I have isn't good enough I'll just drill a small hole in a piece of plastic and put it in a drill and sand it down to the correct diameter and have the centre already done.
