This is great! Alabama girl with a MamMaw from Farmerville I loved laughing at the pronunciations. French classes don’t hurt either. 😂

You don't pronounce the D in "Reeshard". You form it in the mouth but you do not let it escape the lips, you see - as is the rule with pretty much all mots français

The R is very very subtle in "lafoosh", Barely pronounced it's kind of like "it's the thought that counts", so think real hard but don't actually work hard at it or actually emphasize or pronounce it. What I'm saying is , you form it in the mouth , but you don't actually let it escape the lips as a distinct sound.

You dont have to be French to be a "cajun" The fact is Spain and England spread their seed pre-American revolution war in New Orleans, thats just a fact. The word 'Cajun' comes from the word 'Acadian'. A short history, the Acadians were pushed out of the French controlled Canadian area and pushed south... So far south they ended up in Louisiana in the swamp lands of the state (not all of Louisiana is swamp land as most think it is) Even today the Cajun language has a mix of 'English, Spanish and French' mixed in their language... its the accent that makes it hard to pick out what or how or even why its said. In the end, if you love to dance, you are a cajun... if you love to eat good food, you are a cajun... if you love to party, you are a cajun... In the end its not hard to be a cajun... However, no cajun accepts hatefulness.. thats it.

These aren't hard if you have any understanding of French pronunciations.
