Another War quote:This soldier, I realized, must have had friends at home and in his regiment; yet he lay there deserted by all except his dog. I looked on, unmoved, at battles which decided the future of nations. Tearless, I had given orders which brought death to thousands. Yet here I was stirred, profoundly stirred, stirred to tears. And by what? By the grief of one dog. Napoleon Bonaparte, on finding a dog beside the body of his dead master, licking his face and howling, on a moonlit field after a battle. Napoleon was haunted by this scene until his own death. Napoleon Freaking Rule the World Bonaparte said this.

WaW was so well made. I get chills thinking about the ways the game makes every side look human and barbaric at the same time. Masterpiece that is underrated. April 30, 1945: When he first spoke of Dimitri, Reznov told tales of a hero, someone we should all aspire to be like. His merciless brutality defines him only as a savage, just like the rest of the Red Army. He is no hero. - Chernov

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, WaW is underrated in my opinion. The quote I used is from killing all of the wounded or surrendering men, the other two are from killing one group and sparing the other, and from sparing their lives. Excellent use of video games as a medium.

M1Garandstudios I love waw so much. I've been looking for someone with mods that can remove my Level -1 stats so I can play online again (apparently, the game unlocks multiplayer at Level 1, so this guy sent my level into negative, so I'm essentially banned from online on WAW), but I still love the game otherwise

There is no limit to political correctness going mad... history may have been written by the victors, but it certainly won't rewritten by the whiners. If Sledgehammer still has time, they should add a cheat that reskins all the guns to look like Walkie-talkies, or a walkie-talkie joke weapon in Multiplayer, where wielding them lets you hear garbled rants about lack of women soldiers, racially-diverse units, and how one of the Germans you killed was a closet transvestite and should feel bad about it. That'd be the perfect "f##k you" to all these unhinged lunatics.

Mw1 one had a nuke where your character HAS TO DIE. WaW had soldiers watching their comrades deaths and being helpless to stop it MW2 had civilians slaughtered to be blame on the Americans . Betrayals of the higher ups your character put their hopes/trust into. The black ops series is all about psychological effects of brainwashing(and not just the ones by the enemy but conditioning by training) and trauma on soldiers MW3 shows what a effects on a war in civilian population. Also shows terrorist attacks on civilian populations (truck bomb). (SKIP ON GHOST, didn't play it/look like it) Advanced Warfare is about how the privatization of Military has changed and evolved, how they're better equipped and have more freedom (both good and bad kinds) of how they can act on the battlefield. As well as how our veterans aren't exactly treated well by the government. I can speak on IW because I haven't played it or watched people play it. But yeah if those aren't anti-war in some way.... I don't what are.

James Hazel As far as my knowledge could tell me about WWII, Russia didn't deploy women in WWII due to the fact that either the failed battalion from WWI that didn't last a year that was a MISTAKE to tell them that women are weak (which many of them are not to be honest) or they just forgotten to do so.

I know some people may find this ... wrong or take it the wrong way but I hope we see the war through the eyes of a nazi, as most people in the German army in WW2 was forced to fight. I feel like being put into a situation of a 19-20 year old nazi soldier stood at the edge of a German city where it's pissing with rain just watching a mass soviet rush towards the city border. could really bring out a dark, fearful and new understanding of WW2 as most of the times the Nazi were portrayed as cold hearted killers that killed millions of innocent civilians but also had men fighting for that who probably didn't want to fight at all.

0:00 Everytime a Rags video is out, I am glad to see that smiling doggo face that punches reality and fun into the video. 6:42 Yes, yes, yes! I loved reading those quotes. I'd see them often playing on Veteran. I guess those quotes keep me sane, haha. 9:25 Because yes, God forbid Sledgehammer went back to WW2 because of their shit games they were making. Wake up, Tyler. 36:46 Rags, our laughs echoed through my house. Oh my fucking god X'D An intersting point on WW2 I'd like to add is, a lot of the Nazi and Whermacht soldiers weren't fascist. They were brainwashed into fascism by HItler and believing they are the superior race, that Jews and their religion are to blame. When (majority) the German army and people found out, they hated and despised Hitler immidiately. The Nazi Party was attractive to the majority of the German people because Hitler and his party proposed a solution to nearly every problem that was facing the various segments of the population. Thus led to German people becoming loyal to Nazism. For example, the Party agenda addressed the problem of Germany’s loss of WWI. The Nazis exploited the popular myth that Germany’s army was “stabbed in the back” by the Weimar Republic’s first politicians. In this way they seduced the German people into associating the loss of the war with Democracy. Hitler pushed the idea that the Treaty of Versailles was used to attack the German people by the Jewish International exchange capitol. Warsaw. The Nazi party promised to abolish the Treaty of Versailles that was putting Germany into a great depression of their own. Germany was a nation with a damaged pride and a very unhealthy economy. The Nazis were virtuoso propagandists and opportunists and they seized the nation while it was at its most vulnerable. Yet if it were possible to take away any of these elements that made up the Holocaust, it still could have happened through overcompensation in another area. However, if Germany’s deep hatred of the Jews after the proposal made by the Nazi party was removed from the equation, the Holocaust could never have happened. I now have to let my fingers and brain rest, I hope I gave you some insight on what happened to the German people when the Nazi party took their innocence.

A slightly different example of education through media: I watched Hacksaw Ridge recently. I spent 3 or 4 hours in the middle of the night, after, researching the Battle of Okinawa. I learned a LOT and better understood whole parts of WWII I hadn't really considered before. I understood the motivation to drop the nuclear bombs, and learned about the hatred between Americans and Japanese and how they exhibited those feelings through war crimes. I discovered just how horrible the Imperial Japanese Army really was and why Japan barely has any military presence at all, and why we have so much military presence in Japan. These are things I didn't get a chance to explore in grade school. In fact, I really didn't have that much interest in it back then. But when I saw a movie and was presented with a dramatic telling of one amazing soldier's efforts, suddenly the entire conflict became more fascinating and I wanted to know more, and so I learned more. Not just about the soldier and the importance and nobility of the conflict, but also about the horrible experiences of war and the numerous death tolls. Movies like Saving Private Ryan and Hacksaw Ridge, and video games like Call of Duty and Medal of Honor, can tell a story and be provocative. The only people who care about checking off politically correct checkboxes are likely the same people complaining about the "hollow" sincerity of this new game's developers.

Depends what you want to do, MG42 is a fine suppression weapon (indeed, probably the best ever designed), but it's fuck-all use for keeping things mobile since only the beefiest mans could shoulder-fire it and it couldn't fire single shots. Plus it led to some tactical deficiencies where soldiers were so reliant on supporting fire from their MG that if a squad lost their MG42 team the riflemen (sorry, "riflepersons") would often flat-out retreat even if they hadn't lost anyone else.

Eyez PC it's been 10 years nearly. sure they have done the games before but 10 years. new technology can help make the games so much more than they were. people want this so they are being given it. WW2 was a massive conflict and there are many stories to tell. some battles are more iconic than others, like D-day and Stalingrad, but there are still a lot of story's to tell and a lot of grit to show. it's not necessarily about telling he story of the war and showing new information about the war, but telling how the war was like. they have just done a series of futuristic games that people didn't like. why would they try it again so soon when there previous games have pushed it to the point of people not caring about the story because they already dislike it for being in the future. you say 'now this'. but i remind again, it's been nearly a decade. for most people 'now this' is 'finally, this!'

Well, being anti-capitalist doesn't necessarily mean pro-socialist. We don't live in a truly capitalistic economy. We live in more of a competitive econony, which is a hybrid of both (although been leaning more and more towards capitalism in the past 40 years). Pure socialism doesn't work because it explicitly denies people their individuality. Pure capitalism doesn't work because it explicitly denies people their equality. Either eventually will cause collapse.

I think that I had gotten to Berlin in the Russian campaign, and at one point, a group of German Soldiers were surrendering. Instead of letting them live, the NPC that was your friend shot and killed them. The justification was that the Nazis hadn't shown any mercy to the Russians that had surrendered. I remember that I cried after that.

Piers Groube I don't think Tank Destroyers will be relevant in CoD as the maps will be too small to support thier playstyle, also a King Tiger would be OP in terms of multiplayer game balance if implemented for the german faction, however, even if they nerf the tank to balance it against say, a sherman, people be complaining about why thier German heavy tank is getting wrecked by a Medium infantry support tank. So far: -M4 Series Sherman Tanks -T-34 Soviet tanks -Pz.IV German Tanks and if we get the brits, they can get the Churchill, which in-game can have more armor/HP, but does less damage due to the smaller gun. I can only see a Chuchill Crocodile or a Tiger being a thing if the Devs are insane enough to add them as high end killstreaks if there is vehicle combat.

It was hard to watch, you'd watch your fellow PBY get blown up by Zeros as you hear their dying yells. the Russians burned surrendering soldiers alive with molotov cocktails. the first thing you see in the entire campaign is the Japenese beheading POWs. it really showed that war was horrible.

Another thing I like is that in the campaign, you are clearly playing as a member of "the big red one" and they were a very famous unit. There is an amazing movie about them made by a member of the division. If the game is anything like actual unit's story, it will certainly be an anti-war game, but an epic story nonetheless. The big red one fought in a number of battles in Africa and Europe, and they have an impressive record that will work well with the game

I went to Afghan as I am in the british airforce. I wasn't a front line soldier, I am a technician. Even though I was behind the walls we still got mortered, rocket attacked and bombed, and it was terrifying. It's good that they are trying to portray war as serious as it is. Countless people have died fighting, and as time goes on people tend to forget. I have been to remembrance parades and when partaking in the 2 minutes silence have seen teenagers making noise and pushing each other around and acting like dickheads. Ironically these are the people that then go home and play CoD and tell you they've fucked your mom. I respect what the dev's are doing and the approach they take. CoD will probably always be trash, but the message behind it is good.

I'm not buying the game unless all the tanks have black paint on them and instead of the long cannon they use to shoot things it's instead a big flat hole

At seven years old. I was playing CoD 3 (WWII), watching Saving private Ryan. And listening to my fathers War stories. Today, I am 14, and Saving Private Ryan is still my favorite movie, CoD 3 still my favorite Game.

*"Putting women in the game is telling the story wrong"* But here is the thing, the multiplayer itself isn't supposed to tell the story. That is the job of the campaign. Personally, I probably won't even touch the multiplayer of call of duties anymore since they are so bland and repetitive. The campaign on the other hand, I believe needs to be historically accurate to the dot, no exceptions. And I'm glad they seem to be aiming for that. As for the multiplayer, since it isn't telling a story, and they probably aren't even aiming to make it historically accurate, and the fact that I'm probably not even going to be playing it, I couldn't care less what they put into it.

Yeah but the game cost 70 € (if not more) and I can't spend this money only to play 5 hours single-player campaign. Multiplayer needs to be historically accurate too otherwise I will not give away so much money. I don't want women in multiplayer battles.

SteelRazorBlade // AdamSRB Interesting. You have a great point, and it's clear there really isn't a true right answer for this currently, but one thing's for sure, sjws shouldn't be involved.

Nameless Hero I'm pretty sure that their aren't women in the multiplayer. For sure in the campaign. In real life the French Resistance had a little amount of true women combatants. Others were spies who didn't kill. Nancy Wake is a good example of a fighter for the French Resistance. They're probably going to do an adaptation on her for the campaign.

KK C Didn't the developers already say that the women in the multiplayer will be part of the French resistance?

Nameless Hero the multipolar for cod has never been historically accurate. If that were true then Iraq vets would have routinely been quick scoping their way to victory
