We are working on getting the planks installed on the new deck overhang so we can replace the roof. As we near the end of the project we run into an issue with the rental machine. At first it seems like this is just a typical issue that was our fault but the next morning a series of events occurs that is much more serious than we could have ever imagined.

We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.

My guess is that the lift malfunctions somehow and there is a close call. The clue is in the title of the video.

I love the both of you. I love how you two do everything together. I am a 68 year old man. I have been married for 48 years and have been with my wife for fifty years. The facelift on the house makes a huge difference. It’s like a new dimensionality to the facade. It seems like a relatively small job in comparison to the rest of the build, but it’s a dramatic improvement.

Really great choices on your roof -overhang 'inny' boards, it looks great! Sorry about the Lift hassles, when I was an underground miner I rarely had a day when the scoop tram that I operated didn't have a problem with one thing or another, it's the nature of the game when operating machinery.....thank god for those 'traveling' mechanics!

I did my garage with the steel panels. Same color and everything they used and I found it to be a lot safer to handle with no gloves. Them panels can slice threw a glove no problem at least with your bare hands you can have a good grip
