Good review and also great for Night Photography. Autofocus is fast as I've used it at fashion shows. The only issue I've had over the years is that it doesn't handle very well in bright sunlight. No image stabilization at 85mm is not an issue so all good :-)

Nice video, I had Penthouse magazine buy me the Canon 85mm which I used for most of my pictorials that appeared in the magazine when Bob Guccione was the owner, a great piece of quality equipment which I still have today!

Bought mine near mint for £250 this week.I'm not a pro so £2k for the f1.2 isn't an option. I thought it would go nicely on either my 250D/SL3, or with the speedbooster on my M50, and would be great for travelling light as I have mobility issues. Good assessment

Whatever problems you have with this lens and this applies to every other lens as well. Never...ever shoot it wide open, unless u are in a studio or perfect condition and even then, dont shoot it wide open. Go up at least a stop or 2 for best IQ

Nonononooo, this is NOT a true macro lens. There is a difference betwen close up photo and MACRO. A true macro lens reflects the subject on the sensor in the size it actually is. I have had many lenses with "macro" written on them. It's not macro...it's just close up photo. I have ONE real macro lens...the EF 100mm 2,8 Macro. At 2,8 you can not take a breath. The focus at close range is...1 milimeter?? It's ridiculus. :D But the 85 1,8 is a great lens...I have that one too. But it is not a macro lens. ;)
