Would love to upgrade one of these days, in the meantime my EF mkii is working just fine.

Exactly. I think that’s a great move. It’s more like an update than an upgrade. Unless you have a Canon RF mirrorless camera it’s not worth upgrading until you have a RF camera body. But if you do have a RF camera, I would just for the compact size alone.

@@swnup I did notice how compact it is, can I ask, I know that the lens is an L model but do you ever worry about moisture inside if you extend the barrel out? Thats one of my main concerns about the lens. I’d rather have all internal zoom.

@@coach_yo that’s a great question. Canon claims that the lens is weather sealed and I can admit I’ve used it outside when it was pouring rain twice and it still works great. I personally believe that’s not a concern.

I completely agree. I think this lens realistically is worth $2,200, but it’s Canon. But I will say being that I knew I had a few shoots coming up plus the filming of a documentary I’m working, I knew I would be able to make the money back quickly. I’ve already made $1,600.00/$2,600.00. Almost there 😂. Thanks for watching!

Good questions. It’s subjective , but for me I don’t think any of the AF systems is that great. I would say if you do interviews or have good lighting it works. I did a recent shoot out at PayPal in the Bay and used it for face/eye tracking and it worked 70% of the time. It was situational. For the interviews, it worked 90% of the time. It could also be user error on my part. Interviews I don’t worry at all, but that’s most AF.

Great lens ofc. Too bad it's so damn expensive. If money is not an issue, get this and the 28-70mm RF and you're done 🙂

I was doing research on my next lens and I was looking at both the RF 28-70mm and the RF 24-70mm and the 28-70mm is huge and expensive. The lens filter size is 95mm 😦. If I do buy a wide, it will probably be the RF 24-70mm. B/w the price and size it’s a better fit .
