so a couple days ago i was playing, and i was going down the street minding my own business. and i see this lady just absolutely sprinting, so i'm like "thats weird" and i stop her to ask her if she saw anything unusual. she says yeah she saw someone dodgy looking and starts to walk away. then i hear the loudest freaking gunshot ever and the lady just drops and i spend several seconds irl sitting completely still in stunned silence. i also had an enforcer kill someone and then, when asked why, say "if the enforcers won't uphold the law, i will". like my sister in christ thats you

1:44:41 That is the sound of a sniper case. I heard it before in my game and they killed the dude in an awkward spot. The case wasn't reported for over 12hrs. But I heard them shoot like 6 times, so must've not been too great of a shot

Every time you submit a printed email as evidence, it fails. I think the game is just not programmed to accept emails as evidence.

I just had a CRAZY thing happen. I was at an apartment on a stolen item case. I had just arrived to talk to the guy about what was stolen and get fingerprints, etc. I noticed while poking around that the partner of the guy who hired me had some of those diary pages and notes about being stalked laying around. Of course, I was immediately thinking "oh no, this isn't good." Moments later the partner on the other side of the room has words over her head saying "What are you doing?" I turn to look and there's a person right up in her face, and then red is flying. This person came in and killed her right in front of me! I followed them outside and handcuffed them in the stairwell before the "New Murder Case" message even appeared. Quickest case ever. But I felt horrible I wasn't able to do anything to stop it.

I could watch you play this game for hours and hours. The potential is insane.

hey insym!! when the client says they wrote down all the information for you, you can open the job listing and select the "Details" tab next to the "Connections" one to see a transcript of your conversation with them. on other cases this section also gives you a transcription of any phone calls you did to get the job. also! the sync disk for exploring new areas can be better if you choose the vent one but it heavily depends on how many vents generate in a building. i picked up blueprints for one huge apartment building with a lot of vents and got like 3.5k crows.

You can do an arrest case, turn it in, and then immediately go back and uncuff them. You get your handcuffs back and they're usually completely cool with it. Thanks for getting me into this game! It's one of my favorites now.

Insym, when you have a task to cause vandalism using trash, it means you should throw something like food remains (like something that is left after you drink coffee or eat a burger)

I think it would be so interesting to have extra little businesses where you could find a database of citizens with unique characteristics, like a hair salon / barber shop for hair, optometrist for eye color, tax office for income / job, etc also, more distinguishing features for citizens would be nice too, like favorite restaurants (check a business ledger for frequent customers), hobbies (someone who likes nature will be standing near parks), or even some kind of tattoo / scar feature (like how some citizens have a bionic arm). they could also have hobbies listed like painter, musician, gamer, and then their apartment would have corresponding decor I 100% agree when you say this game has the potential to be one of the best games ever made, there is just limitless possibilities depending on how far the devs take this idea! love these videos ❤

Maybe the next run could have the following rules?: 1. No stealing. 2. No breaking down doors. 3. No knocking people out. 4. No illegal activity (like handcuffing innocent people or trespassing except on murder scenes; alternatively this could also be enforced on murder scenes). 5. No beauty disk. It makes gathering information and cooperation way too easy- These rules made the game a LOT harder for me. ; )

It would be so cool if you could actually buy an use an office. You could maybe go there and choose a special 'pass time' option and it would generate a case for you when a person walked through the door. I really hope they don't just add more case types, but also add more immersive things to make the simulation part that much cooler.

Discovered that if someone leaves their cruncher on, you can get their password in their profile without having to look around. It'll often happen in companies.

Firstly I adore this series, i bought this game ages back and was too intimidated to play it until watching your vids and now i am so addicted. Thanks! I dunno if anyone has mentioned it, but when you hold tab while moving it pops up a little city map tracked to your character (the level of zoom matches your map on case board screen), it's really helpful when going through air vents, especially if you've already grabbed the blueprints. Also the cameras and people can't see you if the lights are off, unless you have your flashlight on. If the little circle is only an outline you're hidden. *edit cause I accidentally hit send before finished typing lol*

if you do a new campaign just a little thing you can do that i thought was fun: 1. at the start turn off murder cases 2. give yourself 0$ 3. 0 lockpicks it's interesting starting with 0 cash, you literally have to bum off of people to make a phone call for you first case. You could also do those mini cases where you have to find a lost item in apartments that give 30$. with 0 lock picks you'll have to break down doors or pick a case where you don't have to break in anywhere. early game is the most fun part of the game tbh so anything that makes it last longer is better. once you have ur foot in the door metaphorically you turn on murder cases. As if by lore your character feels up to the challenge of it now.

Nah I want this series to feed me for a while to come don't end it please! I cant really play the game cause it doesn't run that well for me and so this is a way for me to enjoy this game!

The biggest apartments are the single room mega suites at the top of the standard apartments. They're around like 35k and the one I got in my first playthrough had a massive L shaped living room/dining room, a big kitchen, 1 bathroom, a huge bedroom with an office en suite. Unfortunately the decoration tech was really jank back then, so it basically had a bed, a phone, a case tray, a shower, and a couple vending machines. 😅

Door wedges are almost as OP as kicking the door in someone's face. Lock the inhabitants in a bathroom and you get full access to the apartment almost for free. Even better because no one will sound the alarm. And its even reusable if you pick it back up before they manage to break open the door.

I had paused and zoomed on your map at one point and I was SCREAMING about the chemical plant hahaha I'm so glad you found it!! Yes, you can have multiple plants. Factories and chemical plants are considered separate building types but both are considered industrial!

I believe for the "throw trash" in apartment you need one of the garbage bags from the street, not the trashcan. The game is a little finnicky on what ticks the trash the apartment box.

Another good tip is that for phones and computers you can actually use your keyboard to input things. For phones it works fine but computers are a bit buggy where sometimes it works just fine however I have noticed that when looking away from the computer (normally cancels input from keyboard) it still inputs another thing is sometimes when pressing hotkeys it will still activate them even though your looking at the computer. Which is just minor things they need to fix other than that it works just fine

1:00:00 Yeah I got the version were they just give you a picture of a random place in the city where a briefcase is hidden. For me it was actually more common than the other options. One time the picture wasnt rendered properly, so it was almost impossible to find the location...

If you dont know camera footage only last for last 2 days. And always take finger print on the job before u take it. It comes handly lot of time knowing who posted the case

I used to play this game a lot during your first twitch play through, but i stopped and now i’m back into it, so i’m now happy. also, a quick tip i’ve learnt from playing, before you buy an apartment, you can break into it to see if it’s good and how you will organise it

you can use the numpad too to type in passwords and phone numbers. but it is only just faster, and you need to accept the fact that you might check your watch and scanner in the middle of typing in passwords :D

Pro Tip: if you are being pursued, you can enter the elevator. You are the only person who can enter an elevator and you become completely invisible to everyone while inside. Your pursuers will act like they lost you. It feels like a cheap exploit so I can understand not wanting to use it but it can be very useful when escaping someone shooting at you.

Tip for the address book! I also had a case where the person and their partner had the same handwriting. And I thought about it and realized you could start at one end, and then go to a house and check the OTHER person's address book and that will tell you which partner they know. Then you can just continue from the correct end (front or back). So far I've had it be accurate and the other person always has the right partner in their address book

I don't know if this works, per se, but there's sometimes a note on a table in the diner that says 'Book club sign up' or 'Book club meets here' but I've never seen a time/date on them. I think it might be possible to actually see these clubs meeting, though it might not be fully implemented yet.

When you know where someone lives, and dont want to chase them around the city or risk beeing pursued, you can use a picture of them from the surveillance cameras as well

I found a tip when I was playing - If you enter a business and they have no pictures on the wall, every single business has one of 4 items: 1) Stack of papers (use scroll wheel to inspect each one) of employee files (faces/fingerprints) (found in drawers, cabinets or on surfaces/shelves) 2) A filing cabinet or box with employee files 3) A pin board with faces/names 4) A PC with a list of employeese (if you did "[space] A-Z" to search by all surnames depending on how patient you are)

i had one of those love-themed murders where the killer ended up being the janitor in the building where the victim lived. the time of death was during the work shift so i thought the janitor's alibi for being on the security footage was airtight. once i solved it i noticed the killer was the second name from the top in the victim's partner's part of the address book, so it made for an interesting after-the-fact story reveal, like the victim's partner and the killer were best friends once before he chose murder.

Didn't think I would enjoy videos about this kind of game , found that I do enjoy them and am considering getting the game on the future

Completed a sniper case today, could only locate the killer using the ledger of the underground gun business. When asked, their reasoning for murder was pretty meaningless, just a "Cleaning up the streets," but seeing the notes around his kitchen was fascinating. Detailed documents tracking the movement and actions of two different people, plus an award from the special police service for distinguished marksmanship. That kind of history is really cool to see.

You can sell the briefcases at pawnbrokers or from your home and they sell for 50c

Insym, you've gotta recommend character classes to the devs. All of the sync discs should still be available to every class, but you could have very specialized detectives. Like a super stealthy sleuth or a really intelligent tech head.

Love this series and the game itself!. Something I learn lately is that for cheating case, it will count evidence for the notes found in the bouquet. I had my case with multiple v-mail but wasn't getting it correct until I had more case and selected the notes instead. Hopefully it gets fixed in the future or not lol

the funniest case so far was me just having the absolute general description from stalker mails (average average short, blonde) and a fingerprint, so my first guess was just going up to the camera room and check cams, so i went in there, PC was off so i was looking for the code, was skimming the files in the cabinet to maybe find something and found out instantly, that it was the buildings security guard

So far from what I've encountered while playing, the factory is absolutely the most dangerous place in the game. Lots of security cameras with guns and almost all of the employees have guns. I got lost in there once and it was hell getting out. Even when I went up a floor or two to the office areas of the factory building, you're still trespassing in every room.

51:41 My first case was a theft where the perpetrator was the partner. Here I am going from room to room gathering every scrap of information like an overzealous noob, only to find the stolen item sitting on the kitchen counter with the partner’s fingerprint on it. The file updates to label the unidentified prints I took off the safe with the partner’s name. I opted not to “cause $900 damage to perp’s apartment by breaking their windows” for obvious reasons. 😅

In certain types of cases you have to complete the main objective before you can do certain secondary objectives. Also, sometimes you need to unpin the first unknown person for the board to correctly update, even if you have all info. I've run into that bug a couple of times.

If you have model citizen sync disk(street cleaner or fully upgraded) installed you can throw the briefcases that you pickup for intel in the garbage AFTER you turn in the case for some slightly more income if you can spare the inventory slot.

So for the Sniper cases, if you find the ammo box on the killer or killers home, and scan the box from your inventory, you can use that fingerprint for placing them at the crime scene 🙂

I recently learned by playing this game that you can technically own and decorate as many apartments as you want -- so I'm currently trying to own every apartment and decorate them all differently. I have one main apartment which is on the 18th floor, and then own 3 different smaller ones right now where I've made lounges, cafe's, detectives hideouts, etc. In order to make the late game more interesting, I've been playing with a self imposed challenge where I try to treat the murder cases like real detective's cases, and not turn them in until I've exhausted every lead/found the most damning evidence possible, and come up with a possible motive. In my most recent murder case, I was able to figure out who it was pretty quickly based on stalking notes found at the crime scene. It was one of their coworkers. But based on v-mails alone, I couldn't figure out why the killer would want to murder them. So I go to the workplace, and find a probation notice on the suspect's desk -- they were under threat of being fired. Then I go to the killer's place and start tearing the place apart, and I find a piece of paper by their bedside. It's a diary entry that literally explained how they killed the person, and what they said to each other, and how it was all because the victim was outperforming them at their job. This must be new because in my nearly 500 hours of playing this game, I've never seen a confession letter like that! So you should definitely investigate killers as much as you can before you arrest them -- check out their place of work and fully tear apart their home. I've found so many cool new story-rich things that make the murder cases so much more realistic.

I think for the trash around 58:00 (not exact) you need to open it and put the trash in there, the stuff spread was extra effects I'm pretty sure

Also I commented about the gov database computer and the number thing, glad to help 😊btw the note with the password won’t work for the computer for some reason, only with a safe! Also I don’t know why but vmails never are accepted as evidence for cheating, but letters and poems will work! I’m not sure if the flowers note works cause I remember it didn’t work once, might have to do with fingerprints and if it actually links both people🤷

I once had a crazy theft case. :D I went to client´s house to investigate and found the stolen item placed in different room, because thief turned out to be their partner. It felt so bad and the same time hilarious to trash their apartment (last case task - vandalism) xD

When they update their dialogues and scripts, I hope they don't change the "Hair Hair" part.
