I really don't think that people came up with the content of this article without coying these concepts from the different religious books out there mainly the bible. It's a bit hypocritical from the author to suppose that gnosticism is a hidden knowledge to be discovered. Like you said this is all written in other books. Other few things are erroneous, mainly things that are based upon Jesus being god or more than a human prophet. Nothing suggests that Jesus is divine, there are other people who didn't have a human father (or a mother!) like Adam an Eve, other prophets were gifted outstanding miracles, like Solomon being a king of the djinns and being also able to talk to non humans like djinns, animals etc, Moses having his staff transform into snake, Abraham not burning in the fire... Reality being what is immutable and eternal, is right when you push the definition to the extreme. Even though our universe exists, it changes over time, it is real because there no doubt that it exist, we live in it, and most importantly it is a universal history for us humans, which is a bit related to that immunatbility (or also incorruptibility). Here is an interesting parallel. In arabic, "haqq" can mean truth, due part or real. In the Qur'an, Al-Haqq, which is an arabic word that means The truth, The justice, The reality and encompasses them all at once, is one of the "Al Asma' Ul Husna" which are the 99 names of Allah (whoever knows [memorizes] them will go to Paradise : source Sahih al-Bukhari Hadith 2736). Nothing can be more _real_ than Allah, He explains everything (another way to say it is, nothing can make complete sense without Him : this is actually one of the proof of the existance of Allah and is also an explanation of why science will never be able to give you a complete overview of the world we live in, not even a significant view, science will always be immensely lacking). One of His "Asma'" (names) is As-Samad, which can be translated to The Fortified, The Fulfilled, The Absolute (one of the reason why Jesus can never be God, because without the 'father' Jesus cannot be! Allah has abolutely no partners, Allah is absolutely one, purely one!). Islam is pure truth, and the two 'religions' that are somewhat closer to it are christianity and judaism (although they contain falsehood in their core believes and texts, islam doesn't). There was no christianity at the time of Jesus (pbuh) and there was no judaism in the time of Moses as well as the other prophets of the children of Israel, the religion was always the worship of the one and only god (Allah) with no partners. In the Old testament, they claim that Jacob was able to lose a wrestle match with God... in human form... (Genesis 32:22-32) which doesn't make sense at all since God is the All-Powerful and they also claim that God is not a man and neither a son of man (Numbers 23:19). This is just one example. There are many other clear contradictions regarding God in the old testament (like the concept of forgetting, etc), let alone other things (numerical contradiction and so on). This means that this book is flawed and it must not be taken at face value. The same goes for the new testament (even by itself), which claims that Jesus was addressing the father as the only true God (John 17:3) (which means that Jesus isn't a true God), then that he said "You, Father, are in Me, and I in You" (John 17:21) which means the father and jesus are one and the exact same (A in B and B in A can only result in A=B). There is one contradiction already. And add to it verse Mark 13:32 that claims that no one knows the Hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father! There is a clear complete contradiction and no logic can make sense of all of this. Then there is John 14:28 which says that Jesus said that the Father is greater than Jesus..... This is just on the basic concept of who God is. There are more than 100 other contradictions in the new testament alone. Islam is the only religion where you can be absolutely certain with logic (no contradiction, and even no blind faith) of the existance of The Creator, and at the same know who He is, as accurately and perfectly as a human person can understand in this world. The Qur'an is His verbatim words sent to us. If people start with studying islam first they will save themselves so much time and save themselves from so much trouble of going through all these other inaccurate, conflicting, confusing and erroneous concepts and beliefs. Qur'an is impossible to debunk, makes perfect sense, contains no contradiction, describes The Creator in a way that is perfectly congruant with the reality that we live in and is at the same time the verbatim words from The Creator, has a linguistic rich style that no human author was ever able to match (in the original language, muslims or non muslims, and even if Allah has given the challenge to whom ever think he can), the same for the deep understanding of the world and the human kind and mind that it demonstrates. It has words that were never used before, facts that were only discovered for the first time centuries later, many of them in the last century. It stood the test of time (1400 years, and it always solves the issues of the society in the same perfect manner from the time it was revealed till now and is expected to continue being so), it's still fulfilling its promisses (Allah promisses in the Qur'an to preserve it, and it still is the same, word for word)... and these are just few of the many proofs of the authenticity of this Book. With all these proofs and facts we know about the Quran, the only plausible possibility is it being from God (this is completely logical, no blind faith, this conclusion comes simply from using one's intellect and logic). And, it is because we know with complete certainty that Qur'an is completely from God that we accept all that it contains as absolute truth. The belief in Islam (it's called Eemaan in arabic), is neither a 'lunar' nor a 'solar' belief. It is not about blindly believing in it, nor about finding the complete truth yourself (you can spend multiple life times and you would never be able to reach the degree of wisdom that is in the Qur'an). The perfect way of life, is already in the Book, The Qur'an. It is a matter of first acknowleging that The Qur'an came from God (with one's intellect and logic like I stated before) and reflecting upon this perfect wisdom (the verses, the profound lessons, and the perfect accuracy (something you won't find in the bible, the accuracy is at least lost with the translations over time) as well as the rich language (rich definition of the words) in them) and acknowleging how much beneficial it is in the reality we live (let alone the benefits that we aren't even aware of, that only Allah knows) in and applying it in our day to day life. As Brett said the belief is only step 1. Step 2 is to put it in practice and live by it. So guys make sure to have the right belief, otherwise you'll be heading in the wrong direction. We have freewill but we can never escape the consequences of our decisions. May Allah guide all of us to the right path and to Paradise. Ameen
