I think I nearly gave myself an hernia laughing when she said that!!! Actually had always interested me why some what I thought might use the Dr didn't, its when a former Doctor starts practising in General Surgery they lose the Dr title.

Yeah except that her accent is somewhere between Dublin and Birmingham. It might be what English people think is a generic Irish accent. But to an Irish person it is ropey as hell. I love Catherine Tate by the way, but this isn't a rural Irish accent.

Hey was a revolutionary surgeon who was Irish John Goligher the unit where I get treated is named after him when he was made Prof of surgery at Leeds University think was back in the 80s though, died in 1998 in Wetherby where he decided to retire legend truly

I think she was just poking fun at people who have no filter or self awareness and therefore can't help saying completely inappropriate things. This particular character just happens to be a nurse.
