I just lost my best friend for almost ten years and words can’t explain how much I miss him. Whenever I feel lonely or sad, I come back to this song because this it’s one of our best memories together. I remember a long time ago when the song released, I didn’t listen to the chainsmokers or know who they were. But my friend told me that we should start a band where we play chainsmokers songs. This is the song he chose to play to introduce them to me. We never did end up making that band, but I will always remember my first time listening to the song with him, how much I enjoyed it and how much we laughed and talked about what we were going to accomplish together. Id give anything just to see him one last time, and listen to this banger with him again.

this song always reminds me of the 2017-2019 era which I have the most memories with this girl. We'd hang ou together after classes, we used to sit outside my house and we'd talk for hours watching the scenery from my 8th floor, she'd lay her head on my shoulder , she would wrap herself inside my jacket as the cold breeze blew but I never had the courage to ask her out. She is now in another state pursuing her degree, we might not talk much now, but this song will always remind of the time when I was at my happiest

I’d just like 2 thank u guys 4 all the great music u make. It’s 1 of the very few things that has gotten me thru this traumatic/tragic time in my life. Paris was 1 of my wife & my favourite songs, other than a different city it was a close mirrored image of us(Amanda & I) & we planned on going out together whenever the time came but it wasn’t expected 4 many many more years from now even….it’s been a couple years now since I have been able 2 talk about this/her without breaking down crying. But I’m getting better slowly but surely & ur music is 1 of the things that has helped me a lot. We were together by each other’s side nearly every single minute of every single day 4 every single good & even every single bad moment of each others lives 4 close to 20yrs. Only ever away from each other a few hours here & there. But on Jan 27, 2021 she was run off the road & 1 of her kidneys was unable 2 b accounted 4 & I wasn’t allowed 2 identify her…after the autopsy I was brought a poorly done picture of her face which in my opinion had 4 knuckle bruises on her 1 cheek. I wasn’t able 2 have a copy nor have I even gotten an autopsy report or fox screen like I requested yet. I wasn’t even allowed 2 c her until her funeral & even then I wasn’t allowed more than 1ft away from her body. & the ‘accident’ as it’s been dubbed was on the main highway here @ 3:33pm that day. I took my teenage years for granted and I always think back and how I could relive it all over again!💔

I think the moral behind this story is much more deeper than I could even picture. But I think the secret meaning behind this that maybe one of Andrew's or Alex's friends could be going through a drug crisis. Before you dismiss this theory, Think about it. "We were staying in Paris" This suggests that the person could be in a magical place. When we are high, we tend to be in a place where we feel like Invincible and happy, nothing can touch us 2:01. Now read the next line "To get away from your parents" This could have a lot of meanings attached. For one, maybe the person could be trying to escape from reality. People who abuse drugs tend to want to escape the harsh reality to be in their magical place. But wait there's more. "If we go down, then we go down together" This suggests that Andrew or Alex could be trying to support this person. This can be done in many ways. Such as making sure if the person takes drugs, they'll go down together. The video even gives hints. When the house rises, this means she is in her high state.
