The most impressive here is that not only was the 26 caught by Anne, but both 28's were within a second or so of being caught. The teams obviously need praise but for the chasers to even get close to the 28 target, let alone be one short on both occasions in insane

At 1:09 left, Paul had 19 steps left and he did 18 with 3 seconds left to answer the last question. I believe that segment is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, rates a Chaser has gone on. 18 steps in 1 minute and 5 seconds. He definitely knew the answer to the last question but cracked under pressure and some of his answers (like the abbreviation one) were unfortunate misses. He would have caught them with just a slight push more.

@@JimmyBoosterCrate what the hell is a gifted genius? is there such thing as an ungifted genius? and no... mark is not a genius, at least not yet. to be classified as a genius, you'd need to make lasting contribution in your field, imo. you need to hit a target that most people can't see. People like Tesla, Einstein, Newton, Gauss...are geniuses. Authors who come up with riveting plots are geniuses. Composers who make sublime music are geniuses. Mark has done nothing on that level. Need some creative output. You can have a piano virtuoso, but that would not make the pianist a genius. A true genius would create music and potentially even play the instrument for which it was created for. Vivaldi was a genius. But take a gifted Chinese kid who plays his songs....Not the same. One made the song, and another just plays it well. To even come up with these songs is mind-blowing. This is what separates genius from those who are merely skilled. Genius creates something mindblowing. Skilled people can imitate. But they are not original. An IQ score means nothing without creative output. Only a fool would think that high IQ = genius. Richard Feynman had an unremarkable IQ, presumably due to the verbal section dragging his average down, but it was undeniable that he was a genius of the highest order. Professors were intimidated by him. Most people with a higher IQ than Feynman would not be anywhere near as smart as him.

Being a big fan of The Chase, and having watched it since the very start in 2009, what I will say is that in the earlier series, the ending score in the final chase was always in the 20 - 27 range, and also the contestents on the shows back in the early series would regularly get 10 questions correct in the cash builder, now it's VERY RARE if a contestant gets 10, they normally get between 2 and 5 questions correct in the Chase shows of recent times! I think the cleverest chasers are a tie between 3 , Jenny the vixen Ryan , mark labbet-the beast and Shaun Wallace aka the dark destroyer , I think it goes like this 1st Jenny the vixen Ryan 2nd The dark destroyer Shaun Wallace 3rd the beast mark lancet The reason why I think Anne’s not clever is because she’s lost to I think 19 it could’ve actually even of been 18 I, not sure but yeah one is those 2 , darragh because he’s lost to 17 once and the sinner man because he got close to hear a full house at 28 steps because basically he got by 27 and then he struggled to answer a like doctor question basically and he’s a doctor anole lol

On the basis that four heads are better than one, I sometimes think the head start the contestants get in the final chase should be reversed, ie a head start of four if there's only one in the final chase and one if all four make it.

All of my family think this way.

Encouraging teamplay is a big part of the show though. If a solo player had essentially as good chances as a full house, then players would just throw the team work out of the window and take inconsiderate risks
@bobomb1986 Жыл бұрын
Amount of time lost by a four-player team in terms of button-presses, etc, over two minutes, more-or-less corresponds with the amount of time it takes for a chaser to get four extra answers. Around 18 seconds (4.5 seconds per contestant/question).

This might just be me being pedantic, but for "which animal produces gammon?", surely the answer should be 'human'- pigs don't cure their own legs!
@josephchambers20002 жыл бұрын
That’s kinda like saying, that table is made of human because despite the material being wood, it was made by a person.
@DavidAJones112 жыл бұрын
@@josephchambers2000No, "humans produce gammon", but "gammon is produced from pigs". You're confusing active voice with passive voice.

alternative: The beast shouts Yeltsin for the russian president, as a last second guess, and gets it right, and everyone goes 'awwwwwwwww' and the Beast would have beaten 28. alternative: The sinnerman shouts Arm as a last second guess, and same outcome alternative: If Paul Sinha/Mark Labbett was the final chaser instead of Shaun Wallace they wouldn't have won. They were just lucky to have a bad chaser. But Shaun Wallace caught 23. Mark Labbett and Paul Sinha are by far the best chasers, imo Shaun Wallace couldn't even get anywhere near 27, while mark/paul got 27, but not 28. while Anne Hegerty could have caught 28 if she was lucky (caught 26 with 9 seconds remaining) a question = 4 seconds

To quote Brad That Is Wrong. Mount Everest is not the tallest mountain Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa are both taller. Everest is highest above sea level but base to tip the others are actually taller one by 300m and one by more than 1,000.

shaun wallace had to get 15 in 1 minute remaining to catch 27, not 15 with no time left (paul and mark would be making fun of him for not being able to catch 27 because paul and mark DID get 27 (if mark had paul's set, and his original 28 performance, 28 would have been caught))
