There is this myth that the Clippers have all these shooters to offset Westbrook. That is what they said about Simmons at the Nets. What you don't understand is the center can't shoot so Westbrook plus Zubac is two non shooters on the court. That ruins the spacing. You can have millions of shooters but they can't all play at the same time. Ultimately that is still two non shooters on the court at the same time.

In a half court situation against a set defense Westbrook comes down the court and the defense sags off him because they know he cannot shoot. He either charges into the congested paint or he shovels it on to the shooters who have defenders waiting for the pass. The lane is congested because it is full of the waiting defenders plus Zubac. Zubac has to be in the lane because he also can't shoot. This is the nightmare situation that awaits the Clippers. Go and watch videos of Ben Simmons to see a more extreme version of the same problem. In a fast break situation this is less of a problem but the Playoffs is less about fast breaks and more about half court against set defenses. This is why Westbrook bombs in the playoffs. Westbrook simply isn't built for the playoffs. The Clippers could try to play without a center like the Rockets in 2020 but you then give up rim protection and rebounding. John Wall suffered from the same issue this season because he couldn't shoot.

@@almac9203 we tend to go small for playoffs. So i don't think zubac will be a key player in playoffs

@@tusharkerkar2546 if they wanted to go small they should not have traded for a back up center. The small ball options don't defend or rebound well. I have been pushing them to trade for Vanderbilt and Jalen McDaniels for the last 5 months which would have been perfect for small ball. The stupid front office does not get more athletic forwards that defend and rebound but instead get a semi washed PG that can't shoot. So our choices are we get killed on the boards or we put up with horrible spacing?. It is sad that we have to alter the way we play to accommodate a vet minimum player.
