A Concrete Grave Liner is the minumum burial container required in most Cemeteries in Central Illinois and Indiana. This container is not a lined or sealed Burial Vault, it is a concrete liner that prevents the soil above the casket from settling over time as the casket deteriorates.
Most cemeteries require a burial vault or grave container to prevent continually adding soil and seeding of each grave plot.
A Burial vault serves the same purpose as a Grave Liner but a Vault contains an interior liner, and a butyl adhesive seal that prevent water and soil from entering the vault, but does not prevent the casket from deteriorating.
A Lawn Crypt is also another form of Grave liner, lawn crypts are also commonly double depth, which means two family members may be interred into one Grave plot, separated by a concrete shelf between the two caskets.

The Concrete Grave Liner is the most cost effective way to lay a loved one to rest, but the container is still suspended above the grave and displayed in a way that the container may be closed and lowered above ground in view of the family. It is our opinion that lowering a grave liner or Burial Vault base into the grave and leaving the lid or cover to the side is less respectful than to display the vault over the grave.
