Thank you, you're the only reactor I've seen who has recognized that all these different "characters," or scenes, represent different parts of Ren, or different things he's worked through in previous songs. For example, the Ren that's tied up and locked in a small room: "A shotgun shell to the noggin', I'm coughing catchy bronchitis, You're in your funeral coffin, No blocking, stopping me not when, I pick the world up - I’m squatting, And when I take from the rich, I’m in your hood and I'm Robbin" might be referencing Ren's attempts to contain/overcome his physical illness. agreed. i think its important to note the punchline of 'living with depression is a blessing in disguise' - 'never second guessing intuition getting wise' as someone who has battled thick depression for most of my 40 years on this earth, this is exactly what it is- living in constant survival/self-preservation mode, trusting your intuition above all else as your personal superpower and kryptonite at the same time. constant introspection about the workings of the world makes you feel more aware and experienced and wise than most. its a twisted thought, but theres truth to it. because your mind is so hyperaware of the hardships of this life, it makes you an oracle of human suffering to a degree. the trick is to carry it as a tool and not a ball and chain. and to know that it is but one tool in your own kit of wise😉

I think I found the root of "The Illest" : "Want to sink into the pupil* of my eye Travel to the corner of my cornea** and mind Look for all the answers*** that I never seem to find Till then, I guess I’m still the illest** ** of our time" think about it "ill be the illest (till i find) the answer I'm looking for...?" like he doesn't want to be the illest if he was the greatest he would never want to stop being the greatest but he isn't claiming to be the greatest just the "illest" till he finds the answer? The answer*** he is looking for is a cure to Lyme Disease until he finds it he is the illest** ** of our time but he'd rather not be, he'd rather cure Lyme Disease. None of his treatments make sense there's no plan the'yre just trying stuff on him, even now in Canada there's no long term plan & goal (he said it in a video) it's all pretty much experimental. He has to study what he has seen done to him he is the pupil* (student) of his eyes travel through the light in the darkness he's been through. The cornea** (The transparent part of the eye that covers the iris and the pupil and allows light to enter the inside.) But what do you think? is this about the cure? about having a plan for people like him? about him being the only one that can find a method through the madness for people like him? I don't think anyone else can save them I think it is set in stone he has to be the illest to cure Lyme Dissease or at least develop a treatment that makes sense Blessings from Puerto Rico

I would love to see you react to Ren's video Crutch (with Bibi). It was written 6 years ago just before he finally got the Lyme's diagnosis and was really struggling with his psychological and physical health. It's deep (about his internal fears) but really beautiful and quite different from anything else I've seen him do. He does all the music (piano, not guitar)... lovely.
