If it helps your wife: Clive Barker once said something along the lines of "Horror is a safe place for people to explore their fears." Normally your fight or flight response is to actual danger. but Horror films and stories, give people a way to experience fear and discomfort, but in a safe environment where everything will be ok after. In that regard, horror films are actually healthy. The more you watch, the more resilient you become and can explore your own anxieties without being in actual danger.

Just finished watching this tonight as it finally came out on Netflix in AUS. Watched all the spinoffs in timeline order before getting to TDMMDI. I just have to say, the chemistry between Patrick and Vera is second to none. They almost feel like a real married couple and are always a highlight. Also, Lorraine has the biggest set of brass balls ever lmao. The scenarios she willingly puts herself in are terrifying lol. Such a badass female lead and I loved how Ed went full Jack Torrence at the end stalking his wife with the sledgehammer ala Jack/Wendy with the Axe

It's good that Mrs Movies seems to have warmed up to this Conjuring movie. You must try to watch the Annebelle comes home movie as it surrounds the Warren's Daughter, their home and the museum which is a real place. The movie is less scary than the Conjuring but more entertaining. It would be great to see your reactions. PS I have never experienced a water bed, I think I would be sea sick😂

Established characters going out into the real world posed a nice change of pace in my opinion instead of the haunted house format, the director had his own twist on the Conjuring movies as you can tell it felt quite different from the previous 2 entries being directed by James Wan.

Yep, Did in fact have a water bed and it was amazing. It sprung a bad leak and never got another one. I remember it being REALLY comfy though. Used to lay on it and play videogames. Good times from my early teen years.

There’s a great scary movie called “Session 9” that is loosely based on true stories of the Danvers Asylum (Danvers MA) where part of this story takes place. Danvers is part of what used to be Salem MA in the 1600s. We used to go sneak into the abandoned asylum as teenagers because it was notoriously haunted. Now they’ve made it into condos, but during construction it burned down twice without any explanation.

Horror movies = TINY SCREEN TIME!😆 this 3rd Conjuring was more of a sad story coz of Arne's suffering. Its kinda slow in pace but the storytelling was actually quite gd. We can tell frm Sir n Mdm's reaction that the first 2 were scarier coz it made u both jumped a LOT. I found this more scary not in terms of like jumpscare or scary demons. More in terms of this is more likely to happen to anyone compared to Conjuring 1 and 2.

this movie focused more on the real life case of arne cheyenne johnson. arne was sentenced to 10-20 years for manslaughtee but only served 5 for good behaviour. he married debbie while in jail but debbie died shortly before the movie was released from cancer.

I know you have the patreon requests and all, but give this poor girl a break and throw her a comedy or drama once in awhile. Admittedly, the conjuring 3 wasn't all that scary, but how about shaun of the dead, or the martian, or the return of the pink panther? You know, something to give her a breather from the jumps and gore. Or how about the sci-fi series Fringe? Very interesting (gets weird at the end, but oh well).

I think you guys would like Annabelle Comes Home. You don’t need to see the first two annabelle films to get it, and you get a little more Ed and Lorraine in the process! It’s a little lighter than the other movies in the conjuring universe!

i know im late to the show, but if noone has mentioned it in previous movies, the reason they keep the totems in their house is cuz at least they know noone can get to them and use them for evil. also since they have the room blessed on a consistent basis they feel its safer for them to keep it knowing what they can do as opposed to having it somewhere in a storage where it could get broken into.

Even without the spooky stuff in this movie, a water bed just seems like it's not all it's cracked up to be and seems like more trouble than it's worth, like super-silky bed sheets. Also, I'd be too paranoid of accidentally poking a hole in it.

I slept in a water bed once. A leak was sprung. It was not the bed. Never again.

Well I noticed something else Mr Movies. I noticed that Mrs Movies reached out her hand to touch you in 30:07. That means she seeks security in you.

This movie didn't scare me at all but the acting was amazing and the Ed and Lorraine moments are so very emotional. Using the song Call me of Blondy just messed it all up for me because scenes that were meant to be scary only ended up making me laugh. It does have it's scary moments though as specially the beginning and the part where the demon hand almost pulled Lorraine off the cliff, so there is that but all in all I wasn't impressed. I did like the effect of Lorraine seeing herself behind her that was a cool shot and easily done with mirrors as a practical effect.

My non spoiler thoughts on the remaining Conjuring Universe movies and why you'd might want to watch them. Annabelle 2014, Annabelle Creation 2017, Annabelle Comes Home 2019, The Nun 2018 and The Nun 2 2023 and The Curse of La Llorona 2019. Annabelle 2014 I didn't really like and thought it was just a bad movie so skip it, see it, whatever. Annabelle Creation isn't very scary as far as the conjuring possession type movies you've already watched. It's kids in a sort of orphanage with a scary demon doll. All I remember is that I enjoyed it enough. Annabelle Comes Home is like what happens when the Warrens leave their teenage daughter home alone in that house with all those demonic artifacts and things go wrong. It was pretty enjoyable to me, more of a haunted house feel. The Nun I've heard many people didn't like it but I enjoyed it. It's not super scary but it has it's moments here and there leading up to the films finale. I think of it like a 70's horror movie throwback along the lines of say the original The Omen movie. The Nun 2 I think is even better. It is rumored that the upcoming The Conjuring 4 / The Conjuring: Last Rites will have a lot to do with The Nun movies so that's why I suggest watching the Nun movies. As far as The Curse of La Llorona that one's more along the lines of The Nun but more modern day. I don't really remember it very much. I think the first two Conjuring main title movies are probably the scariest movies they have in their universe and these side movies are not as scary but of course have their moments and are just either hits or misses to those that have watched them.

Great reaction as always and Mrs Movies didn't seem to cover her face as much this time as this one wasn't as scary as the other 2, if you want a light hearted comedy/horror would you consider reacting to the British films Dog Soldiers its about some army lads who encounter a family of werewolves during a training exercise in Scotland, or Shaun of the Dead the Simon Pegg film that's if you haven't already seen them, and I've never owned a waterbed in my life.
