In the case of Keemstar, he never really had the respect of others to begin with. People watched him, not because they thought he was a good person, but because he was interesting. Dunno about you but I'd like to avoid having nazis mentioned over and over again. Yes he is a nazi, he donates huge amounts of money to 'The Daily Stormer' a neo-nazi publication, the name of which comes from 'der sturmer', a nazi publication in germany from 1923. Comparing this to banning 'chin' is insane.

It's because 2015 - 2017 was modern KZfaq but still finding its proper footing. You had super harmful or obnoxious trends that aren't in vogue these days, and yet it had already passed the stage where Minecraft and gaming KZfaqrs were able to get huge because of the algorithm. Meanwhile the early humor of the internet was out of style and modern memes were big. Sketch channels like Smosh and the large creator networks had fallen off, and there was no longer an incentive to direct traffic to a personal website.

Yeah. Most of the conflict drama I remember from mid to late 2000's KZfaq is atheist smackdowns of religion popping up in suggestions. 2017 and forward I definitively feel like KZfaq started getting a little bit more toxic. With more content creator drama.
@hotsexyangel

Both are old school & relaxed now. But each era has gotten more strict. Like first gen KZfaq was definitely the Wild West, 2nd-3rd gen was also the Wild West but with SOME moderation, and nowadays there’s nothing but censorship & demonetization even just for cuss words.

Crazy to think about this era, specifically Filthy Frank, MaxMoeFoe, and Idubbz and how they all branched off from their original content together. Frank becoming a top music artist, Max and Anything4views starting an australian drinking show, Idubbz making content cop, then full on documentaries on obscure people, to hosting a KZfaqr MMA fight. Truly a batch of legends that were all at one point playing torture twister and eating a cake made from idubbz hair, and all of this history documented on KZfaq to go back and watch. Absolutely amazing.

When a "Content Cop" dropped, everyone I knew would buzz with excitement. It would be all anyone on KZfaq would talk about for a month. The reason was simple: IDUBBZ was both brutal, and concise with his criticism. Couple that with his documentary like editing, & edgy humor, and you're left with a fun show. I'm not gonna sit here, & pretend I really cared if any of the people he tore down deserved it. He does a great enough job saying why in his videos. The main reason I think we all enjoyed watching it, was because it's fun seeing someone you think of as a jackass, getting publicly embarrassed. It's an ugly, sticky feeling that's in just about everyone. There's a word for it called Schadenfreude. The experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, or humiliation of another. In the case of Leafy, Keemstar, Tana Mango, Ricegum, etc--- it felt good seeing them taken down a peg. That's about it.

I hate that english speakers think "there's a word for it", no there's many, and you don't have one in the english language. Doesn't mean the only/correct one is the german word. It's also a danish word: "Skadefro", literally "Schadenfreude" directly translated.
@Defectum138

@@christofferrasmussen6533 “Schadenfreude” can be found in English dictionaries (Merriam-Webster) whilst “Skadefro” cannot. The lingua franca of the internet is English, “Schadenfreude” is not a particularly well known word, and it worked in the context of the comment the OP was typing. You don’t have to whine about how he only mentioned the English word (which takes from German because English is a Germanic language) when no one had mentioned any other languages, nor have they had any reason to.

I agree honestly, a lot of the largest/most popular twitch streamers hardly interact with their audience and their streams consist of them eating and watching a show. Remember the era of folks getting banned for streaming pay per view shows? Wasn't too long ago. Now this wouldn't be a big deal if these people added something to the content, but a lot of it is just them watching and eating, and maybe replying to something in chat every couple minutes. It's quite literally the definition of washed up.

@JOMAUN JACKSON The issue was Jinx was not crediting the original uploaders, he had no permission to do so & would continue when others asked him to not make videos with their content, and he was pretending like he WAS providing content and his videos were fair use, which in his case is absolutely not true. You cannot play a video in full and not transform the content. Adding your face on the corner and laughing now and then is not transformative.

Something that absolutely blows me away about the whole Jinx thing is that he and other channels like his were *universally despised* back then. Now damn near every single one of the top 10 Twitch streamers does the *exact* same thing as Jinx and people still love them. They're even worse. They don't even just watch KZfaq videos. They just straight up watch TV shows and movies. Sometimes, they aren't even there "reacting," they'll just straight up walk away for like 10 minutes at a time. That really shows just how far the online "influencer" world has fallen when things that were once universally despised are now praised. It really makes me sad. So someone like Hasan or anyone that is a socialist or communist in twitch is a hypocrite for essentially profiting from someone else's hard work just like a capitalist. Yes, watch the video, he explains it. Ian didn't do it out of hatred and the nword is just a word like any other word. All people should be treated equally so saying the nword can only be said by certain races is in of itself racist. (by definition)

at least the smash community is eating good, technicals is basically our own content cop at this point except its more of a content detective

If I remember right, Ian said he stopped because he didn’t like the audience he accumulated from the content cops. The same audience who FREAKED the hell out about Anissa having an OF.

Your girlfriend/wife being a prostitute is pretty pathetic and easy to make fun of.

More like his viewership knew he was a cuck and legitimately could not make Content Cop anymore because of that. He made a response to people mocking him where he lost his cool and showed how sensitive he is about the issue. When you go back to his Leafy video, he gets on Leafy's case about "you can't be a bully if you're sensitive," so maybe after that he removed himself from being in the position to mock anyone else anymore. Also, just a reminder that if you let your girlfriend sell her body to strangers, you are a spineless loser. No discussion needed, period, end of.

The keem star content cop is absolutely one of the best videos ever created on KZfaq. If there was a KZfaq HoF then that video should be in it
