Plenty of people are saying it and I agree. Monetise the videos. We’re more than happy to watch an ad so you can better fund your projects even if most get demonetised.
@Slingshotchannel
@Slingshotchannel 5 жыл бұрын
If I monetize, then KZfaq will pay me a few pennies for the video, now that they suppress all of my clips because they show "weapons". It is likely that they will demonetize it soon and I will have to go through an appeal process, with maybe a 30% chance of success. Not worth the efforts and emotional stress.

I'm sorry Joerg xx been watching since you started the channel. (been watching the internet since before there was one -lol) I'm just glad you didn't stop completely, despite Googles (own KZfaq) total cluster-fucking of all good content on the platform. Monetize anything you think you can safely, i hope you're still enjoying yourself doing it xxPD

As a small channel KZfaqr I'm saddened by this, but based on my few experiences with demonetization I can say that I understand the decision. Hopefully you'll be able to make some decent money from affiliate links, etc. without having to deal with all the other hassles. I'm grateful for all your videos. Thanks:-)>

That's one of the coolest slingbows yet! Some tips from a recurve archer. 1. Arrow points are usually glued in place with 'hot melt'. Simply heat the tip for a few seconds with a kitchen blowtorch, and remove. 2. Preparing arrows yourself is super easy, and cheaper than buying pre-made. Buy full length shafts (aluminium, carbon, or cheaper fibreglass, usually 31 inches each) and cut. You'll get many bolts from one shaft. Also buy nocks, points, hot melt, vanes and superglue for the vanes. These are all super cheap. 3. An arrow puller is way easier to use than pliers to get difficult arrows out of a target/enemy. The square ones are the strongest, but won't damage even lightweight carbon arrows. All archery shops or Ebay have loads of these. Hope this helps!

If he enables ads they will flag his video as inappropriate for most advertisers. Then the video will get suppressed by the algorithm because it is also considered inappropriate for most viewers. By not monitizing he might get some youtube hits. Besides I really believe it's healthiest for him to have a reliable income. Just being spared of the stress and uncertainty of youtubes hypocritical system seems worth it to me

I genuinely love the idea of taking old, but inherently intelligently engineered mechanical devices, and updating them with modern materials to see a further development of the concept. Next up: a metal version capable of hunting with. As you pointed out, Joerg, this wooden one is the fastest repeating crossbow you (and certain I) have ever sen capable of firing modern bolts. So at this point, there needs to be further development which would even further update the mechanical principles into a real world product. Not only for the sake of producing a repeating crossbow which would be used and loved by people who enjoy crossbow archery, or hunters who would love to have a repeating crossbow for the purpose of being able to fire multiple shots in rapid succession in case an animal charges. I think it should be done in order to prove that this ancient, and it is quite old, Chinese example of mechanical engineering functioned on extremely sound principles which if enhanced with modern materials is as good today as it was revolutionary then. May I recommend however, a modification rather than a linear handle to the action: a sturdy action bar for the lever which has multiple threaded holes for a bicycle style J-peg. That way, you can adjust the amount of muscle force required to cock the weapon according to arm length and also so you can manipulate the lever - with less reach being required. that should permit you to adjust the orientation of the lever to allow it to work against the power of the firing bands/power strings: without, as you pointed out, requiring an absurdly long reach. Maybe even enhancing the butt stock a bit and using screw in j-pegs on both sides so that the shooter can easily brace the butt stock to the chest than manipulate the lever with both hands: so that a release force equal to today's top hunting bows can be manipulated using this lever action - with less work and or effort than today's current variety of those same high powered hunting crossbows. Thus instead of having to brace a crossbow on the ground between shots, to cock the string, then carefully putting a bolt in place: the hunter or target shooter would instead load their bolts, aim, fire, brace against their chest, pull both j-pegs back and then immediately be able to fire again. I'd love to see an aluminum version of this capable of firing mini-bolts at 300-400 fps (91-121 mps) with broad-head arrows. That would certainly create deep enough wound channels for game hunting. A metallic version would also be capable of mounting more precise sights a great deal more easily as well since you could easily have mounting plates for precision sights consisting of just a small plate which bolts into place with hex heads. This essential design could require very little modification to become a sincere choice as a hunting crossbow.
