But Tory, Expenses are just half of your monthly budget. What about sources of Income? Savings? Patreon? Monetized KZfaq? Ideally you should have a safety net/Emergency Fund of $2500 put away. Thanks for showing us the practical side of van life.

I SENSE A GREAT IDEA FOR PART 2 🤩🥳🥳 I actually already have a video talking about how I make money but dive more into options for other people looking at finding jobs but I still touch on all 3 jobs I’ve had in my van! ☺️ But talking about exact income would be a great video!

Actually I think it's fine that detail was left off. I've seen a couple videos talking about how people get their income living in a van, from traveling nursing to computer/remote work. It's very diverse!

I was lucky enough to get your video when you installed your underfloor heating. Great solution and I really hope you get a chance to tell me how it works. And now I watched your video on costs and I must say you make a great presentation. You should be proud of yourself!!! I'm mostly interested in technology, so maybe that's what I watch the most. But I wish you the best of luck with all the content you have in your KZfaq channel. Best wishes from Sweden!

I spend $750 for rent,$55 for internet and $65 a week on groceries. I'm super frugal and my son takes me out to eat every other week which is enough for me. I usually get a couple quarter pounder patties from McDonald's and just get ice water from my frig to drink. My Social Security is $431 a month but I have savings.I'm 66 yrs old.I couldn't live in a van. Have fun if you guys do! Be safe!

Your living cost disclosure was given in a very clear, concise, and orderly fashion with a minimum of verbiage A+++ Well done!!! Flying J and LOVE truck stop showers, according to my understanding is that shower credits on a rewards-type card can only be accrued by buying DIESEL (No gas) How about buying "baby water" at Walmart for $1.00 a gallon?? When the weather is nice and in a rural area, laws notwithstanding, suggest cooking in a safe spot, over a fire with dead twigs and branches?? I am not a road person but I do love to dream!

Cool. I wish i was watching a year ago when you were in Boston 😢❤ but yeah idk if i told you yet. Across the country are campsites that are cheap called aot i believe and have a plug to charge your phone. I used to work painting in maine and i believe they were the cheapest campgrounds like 15 bucks a night.... I hope that helps u. I live in a trailer. So i kinda live in a van but stationary 😅😅😅😅 but yeah id have tried to help if possible 🥺lol its so cool ive always wanted to drive across the country. But yeah check out the aot's i believe they were made for bikers who were traveling cross country . Also theres these little stoves that my korean mom and aunts use. The can of fuel is the size of a can of spray paint... So they are very easy too use compared too propane or Coleman stoves. Heh, enjoy ❤😊

Do you know how much your van weighs? My Travato has a curb weight of 7,800 pounds and it seems like independent builds don't add as much weight as everything Winnebago does. I'm curious as I get about 16 mpg too. You're doing pretty good at under $1,200. I had one month last summer where I spent $1,700 just on gas. Thanks.

I dump my grey water where ever I want, and I dump my piss jug in the McDonalds parking lot sewer after I get my morning coffee. I refill my water at Walmart or windmill express stations with quarters. I go to food banks and tell them I'm poor to get food and say I have 3 kids and a wife so they give me more. I use Roamly for full coverage of the camper and all equipment. I don't ever pay for medical bills, I give them a fake name. I did sim card cloning to get free phone service and 5g, and use a repeater to steal wifi. I have no college loans, if I go to a coffee shop I don't buy anything. I use the washer/dryer of the next chick I am bumping. If not, I pay for it. I hardly use a stove, I've gotten used to eating dried, canned and food cold. I often use my dashboard to heat up food in the sun. I don't buy national park passes, if they catch me I just say "oh I had no idea I'm not from here" and get away with it. $1000 a year on fixes isn't bad. Mine is even lower. The only pet I have is my girlfriend.
