I'd actually love for someone to write a short story depicting a tactical battle between Revan and Thrawn, just for fun as they were separated by 4000 years in the Star Wars continuity. I haven't read the Thrawn books yet and I'm busy working on my own stories, so I'm probably not the best one to attempt it, but I'd love to read one.

Is there a possibility that there will be a part 2 of this ? It was really interesting listening to this.

On Yoda's potential vs practice. My hunch is that he had very high potential. I know we don't like to talk about it, but in TPM, when Qui Gon and Obi-wan are discussing Anakin's (sigh) medichlorian count they say "Not _even_ Master Yoda has a count that high." Not _even_... That implies that Yoda has perhaps the highest count or at least remarkably high. I hate to measure potential numerically, but that seems fair.

Jensaarai, i'd like to apologize for my comment on your EU fan perspective video. I overreacted way more than I should have, and i am sorry.

First off, I am happy to see another episode of the Council Forcecast, despite this one being before TFA. You guys are always great with your analysis and work off of one another greatly. Also, I know I have stated this again, but you guys reinvigorated my love of Star Wars, namely the EU. It was such an extent that I actually purchased The Essential's Reader's Companion so as to re-familiarize myself with the lore/world(I know it is called Legends, but it will always be canon to me). The one thing I am finding more and more with Star Wars is how much hatred there is within the fanbase. I know this isn't exactly original(most fanbases have this), but particularly when you are critical about TFA. I get there are those who just hate the movie for the sake of hating the movie and didn't give it a chance. But mainly it is from the OT purists out there who hate the PT and disregard any criticism for TFA as quote "hating". News flash: The OT movies had plenty of problems. I love the OT, like most, but I am not blind. But perhaps that comes from me seeing both the PT and OT at the same time, when growing up. As such, the impression of the OT wasn't as strong. So when I do criticize TFA(namely, rehashes of A New Hope, lack of development on some characters/ world at large, and being highly derivative), that is just my viewpoint as a Star Wars fan. You can love something, but be critical about it. That said, I still enjoyed TFA for what it was. Do I think it could have been better? Yes. But with Rian Johnson directing, I have a feeling I might enjoy eight a lot more(No offense to JJ, but I prefer Johnson as a director). My rant aside, great podcast as always. P.S: Jensaarai1, who is your favorite underrated character within the Star Wars Mythos?

I'll be interested in seeing if any opinions change after the research/writing process. I wish you guys had done some serious suggestions for GreyJedi. I know he's a busy dude with his job, but I love watching his videos and I'd really like to see him tackle some challenges from his fellow Council members.

Darth Bane's skill was not "textbook." Kas'im flat out stated in Path of Destruction that Bane had moved beyond the seven forms. This makes him a much better duelist than Reti and Evannova give him credit for.

I'd be super interested in you doing some Versus videos on the Knights of the Fallen Empire characters. Namely Emperor Valkorion. I'm no expert on Star Wars lore by any measure, but the sheer magnitude of his power makes it look like he could fairly easily beat characters like Palpatine and Yoda. There are probably objections to that statement, and I'd love to know what they are from someone who knows Star Wars well. Also, Vaylin. She looks like she's definitely at Ep3 Anakin level, probably beyond that to be honest. Having characters like that in Versus videos is always fun to watch so I'd love to watch one with her.

I love all of your versus videos a lot and forever.

I want somebody's thought on this character's fighting style even though she doesn't like using a blade like most of her council. Forms are a strong form 3 she wishes to understand your movement first seeing how you Strategize your offense. Form 4 she does use a lot, but only for the Acrobatics some of the times if the situation calls for it. But does use offenses methods. This is where form 2 comes to play. She likes and needs to keep a cool mindset the reason for it is that she hates being sloppy when she lost her close friend to darkness because of form 5's offense. Yes she does uses it, but only 14% of the time making her believe it's a easier way to join the dark side. Her force powers are powerful, but she limits to only four types, Telekinesis, force heal, the mind trick, and battle meditation. Telekinesis and force heal are one of her more powerful ones, but she mostly belives mind trick is more suitable to her but never got around to it after she was made a jedi do to her master thinking she was more of a knight then a sorcerer. There's more to her but I've gone on long enough.

I seem to be constantly talking about Revan when I'm commenting on these videos in my latest Council Forcecast binge watch. I will say that Reti is borderline completely wrong with his take on Revan as a general. While it's true that Revan was like how Reti described at times, everyone seems to forget his first military campaign was leading the Republic against the Mandalorians. An overworked, demoralised, and borderline overrun military that he not only turned around, but used to crush the Mandalorians to where Malachor V was the invaders' last stand. And yes, while he did often organise things from the back, we know Revan wasn't afraid to lead from the front (and on the ground) when it came to it - The moment he finds his iconic helment and the fact he led a smaller force against the Mandalore while Malachor V was getting wrecked being obvious examples. And we can extrapolate that he did it more often than not due to neither Ordo (Kotor 1) nor Meetra/Bao-Dur (Kotor 2) acting like him on a mission was a surprise. Revan was known to sacrifice pieces for a greater victory (Thrawn's feints) as well as making tactical strikes that can cripple/weaken the opposition without being all out attacks that caught non-combatants in the crossfire. In effect, he could play both sides of the military game (Alpha-17 or Jedi mentality) depending on circumstances. And it's bloody annoying when everytime his military skills are talked about that someone brings up the Star Forge. He didn't have it against the Mandalorians! The way Reti and everyone else talks of Revan's military talentsis akin to if Anakin helped the Jedi with the Clone Wars straight, only to then fall and have Order 66 tropers and the CIS droids as his military to claim the Repulic, and then just focus on the second part of that equation. Edit: The Handmaiden also suggests Revan used the Echani foresight ability that they have for physical combat and used it on a galactic scale! Essentially, he Jury-rigged himself a Shatterpoint ability for the two wars and milked it for all it was worth.

I would love to see a Council episode that looks at some of characters from the Star Wars Universe and debate who would be the best teacher or what style of teaching would benefit the character the most to cause them to fulfill or put them on the path to maximizing their potential.

Militarily I would compare Revan to Napoleon (leading both from the front and from behind) and Thrawn to one of those post 1870's strategist generals that lead from a capital ship or an HQ with tonnes of officers to delegate to, honestly you could compare him to a lot of guys from that period I would say Helmuth von Moltke I guess. Though if you look at Revan's strategy it was basically to defeat enemies until he gained every advantage and then apply overbearing strength to win. Revan had like a third of the Republic military, all of those fallen Jedi and the Star Forge meaning that he has an immense strategic viability. Thrawn on the other hand seems much more subtle with emphasis entirely on tactical victories to build up advantages and the fact that he is basically leading remnants of the empire means that he has much less strategic viability. In the long term it could just turn into a war of attrition and no matter how many battles Thrawn wins he would most likely be decimated by the end of it at which point Revan would end up crushing him.

I thought of a really good one. I've looked all over KZfaq for videos of it, but I can't find any. I'm genuinely suprised that nobody has done a video on it yet. MACE WINDI vs. DARTH BANE!!!!! Make it happen!!! How has nobody thought of this yet? The two of them are so similar if you really stop to think about it. They are both big, bald, burly, strong, heavily built men. They both have purple lightsabers, and they both are able to make use of the opposite side of the Force and incorporate it in their attacks as they fight. Both of them are strong in the Force and can channel it to keep on fighting for long periods of time and rejuvenating themselves, etc... The list goes on. This needs to happen. One of you guys needs to do this match up. I'd be really interested in seeing it. I'm really curious to see who would win.

Why have none of these been made yet? Also, can we get another one of these videos? It was a great idea and I think you can come up with more great ideas like these.

I really hate versus matches with people after Return of the Jedi. Luke can't be beat, Darth Krayt is a monster, the Solo kids are absurdly powerful for their age, Mara Jade just shouldn't' be that strong given her background, Lumia is average skilled but her weaponry makes her tougher than she should be, Kyle Katarn is in the same boat as Mara Jade in that he shouldn't be that strong. I could go on but I won't, there are as many powerful force wielders in the 150 years after Yavin than the 3,000 years before and that is a little ridiculous.

Jensaarai1 I was going over Yodas origin story and from the context clues that I gathered (Yoda looking for a job with a friend and flying starships) that he was actually somewhere in his mid thirties when he was taken in by the jedi. Sure that's still around 60 years but still it's not as bad as you may make it out to be.

For those of you who are wondering about KOTFE: I have a theory that Arcann and Vaylin being so strong in the force have completely neglected their fencing skills. If you play KOTFE and watch the cut scenes Vaylin is constantly being outmaneuvred or overpowered in a lightsaber fight. If you watch the Arcann fights the guy is a stronger combatant than Vaylin but it plays very similarly, he basically gets a slight disadvantage in a lightsaber fight and immediately resorts to using his force powers to push you away or wipe you out. One also has to question how strong Arcann is in the first place if he lost his arm on an attack on Korriban where as his brother Thexan was unscathed. They also don't show the circumstances under which he was so severely injured; could have been a one on one fight, against multiple opponents or he got hit by a rocket or some other explosive weapon. It's possible that in the 5 years leading to KOTFE he underwent some training. Though I think that at least Arcann is a match for Palpatine but it's too soon to tell as we've had one fight. Agree or disagree?

Thing with revan vs thrawn is that revan has the force to amp his tactics. He can see the future, and he can amp his troops, he can partake in the fight, he can nerf the enemy and fuck with their mind, he can do rituals rivaled only by valkorion-like people. Which would give him the win in any battle over thawn. But yes thrawn would win if you disable force.

A technical master is advanced indeed, but facing a personalized swordsman with the same level of mastery is almost guaranteed to win. Example: 1. Kit fisto vs almost anyone Tier 3 and above. 2. Vodo Boss vs Exar Kun. 3. Dooku vs Yoda (Textbook Ataru wasn't enough.) 4. Antoine Bandele's matchup Mundi vs Depa Beliaba.

If I was doing vs videos I'd separate the Shatter-point users from the Non Shatter-point users. The shatter-point ability is a game breaker in these types if battles because it grants an automatic victory to the user. With 2 people using the ability like Mace Windu vs Darth Krayt I think the playing field is more even.

There's another idea Jinn versus Grievous. Kenobi beat grievous the last time by flowing in the Force and that is Jinn's thing, so could be beat grievous? Why doesn't anyone make note that Galen did everything at the age of 20(ish), could Padawan Kenobi replicate the Star Destroyer nose dive, I should say not, maybe as Ben Kenobi but not before. Cut the subjective off topic ranting Reti4. The defining aspect of Marek is he had the best start, he attained technical mastery of the saber and the force by dispensing with philosophy; by his journeys end he was ready to learn of the higher mysteries, and probably would have picked them up much faster than bane. Where Ventress is concerned, lets not forget she has a pitiful force defense, maybe even more pitiful than Marek's since he can at least block what he sees coming.

I enjoyed the vid; I'm glad Jensaarai took the lead in this one. I actually think Pong Krell has a reasonable chance of defeating Malgus. Krell would be like nobody Malgus has ever faced before. But I suppose Malgus is ultimately superior. Suggestions: Malak vs Malgus; Jaina vs Windu. By the way--have you considered using Oppo Rancisis.

I propose TOJ Redemption Ulic Qel-Droma (i.e., when he dueled Sylvar) vs ROTJ Luke Skywalker. Think of the thematic element: Two Jedi Knights, one at the twilight of his career, one at the dawn. Each scarred by their mistakes, trying to rebuild themselves as Jedi and redefine themselves after the terrible consequences of their earlier choices. They're a reasonably balanced contest, I think. Not sure which of you would handle it the best, but I really hope one of you finds it as appealing as I do! For GreyJedi91, I propose the following: After Luke recovers from fighting Aboloth, the Council sends Horn to speak for them. "Luke," he says, "we have jointly decided that you are too OP. This video in nearly a year old and ive made like 2 comments and I still have some fun versus ideas. Except these are chess matches (assume both players have all the time they need to make their moves, understand how to play chess, but no force abilities). Grand Admiral Thrawn vs Darth Bane, Darth Traya vs Darth Bane, Darth Traya vs Jerec, Ackbar vs anyone (who can set a trap for the master of knowing when "its a trap!" No Thrawn because he stomps), Revan vs anyone (but Thrawn because watch the video), and just for lols Darth Jar Jar vs Darth Sidious.
