When I was maybe 8 years old my mother got sick and we stayed home and didn’t go to church and I didn’t to Sunday school for a few weeks. Then a letter came in the mail from our church to my mother and she said that the church had maybe sent us a get well card. When she opened the card she said that all that was inside was an envelope so that she could insert the church tithing money that she didn’t give to them. The reason the “God Made Trump” ad sounded a lot like Paul Harvey goes beyond the voiceover work. The narration in the ad is essentially a knockoff of a real Paul Harvey story from back in 1978 about the heroism of the American farmer. The creator’s of the new Trump ad took the basic idea from the Paul Harvey story, changed “farmer” to “Trump”, and the rest is malignant narcissist history. The evangelicals should despise this ad (comparing Donald Trump to their Messiah - remember how they berated the Beatles after their “more popular than Jesus” comment?), but you know as well as I do they’ll love it or simply rationalize it away, just like every other anti-Christian thing Trump has ever done or said.

That particular ad is 100% blasphemous, I feel sorry for those who created it...and just as sorry for those who believe it.

First person i voted for being Jimmy Carter but was independent most of the time. except that few years husbands told me how to think, or I joined the southern Baptist church and they told me how to think. I don't know if you're familiar with a book series called "Left Behind", but it's painful to watch this Trump and MAGA stuff unfolding. It's about the rapture and consists of about 12 books.
