Thank you so much! I’m 62 years young. I’m originally from Wisconsin, born and raised. I live in Chicago now. My sister bought me a Cribbage board when I was 12 years old. I still have it but haven’t played it since I was 15 years old. Just recently started playing Cribbage and had to remind myself of the rules. Your videos were more than perfect. I remember the “old timers” played for nickels. Your videos are more than perfect for refreshing my memory. Thank you!

"Hey!" from New South Wales, Australia! Thanks so much for this video - my wife and I are returning to cards and board games after a long stint away and so decided to learn Cribbage. You are right, it IS simple... in that individual scoring moments are simple... but it's complicated because scoring moments are compounded! BUT - this video just made everything make sense (and the cheat sheet is effing great). Thanks so much and be well. A

When a player call go because they can’t play without exceeding 31, but the other player can play cards in their hand without exceeding 31 they must play those cards, correct? But how does that get scored? Is it just 1 point for the go and that’s it if they didn’t hit 31 or do they get 1 for the go and then another 2 if they do hit 31? And what if they just play out their remaining cards without exceeding 31? Do they just get 1 for the go and then the other player plays out their remaining cards and gets whatever points they can per normal scoring and 1 for last card?? This is the one thing I’m not clear on. Thanks for the video. It was helpful for someone who hasn’t played in YEARS!!

My wife and I are beginners to cribbage. Your videos are most excellent and basically taught us how to play the game. One thing that does confuse us though is the 'Go' rule combined with the last card rule. We interpret the last card to be the last card of the 'whole game' and this can only be scored once. Is this correct? Contrast that with the 'go' rule which may be shouted by one or more players during the show stage and at each time the opponent gains 1 point, is that correct? Thanks again, Steve.
@HuddleAroundGames
@HuddleAroundGames 4 ай бұрын
GO happens whenever no one can play more during pegging without going over 31. If you land on 31 exactly, it's worth two points, otherwise it is 1 point. LAST CARD is simply the point you get for having the final card of the pegging phase or THE PLAY. The "show" is the counting hand phase. There are no GO points during this phase.

first time cribbage player ... appreciate your videos - finding them very helpful .... regarding the pegging/play phase - If your opponent calls "go" and you have card(s) remaining in your hand that could still be played ... is it required that you DO or DO NOT play the card (or if applicable cards) OR is it your option to play or not ... and if optional - do runs/doubles still count even if the cards are all from your hand?
@HuddleAroundGames
@HuddleAroundGames Жыл бұрын
Double runs don't count during pegging/play at all if that's your question there. You MUST play if possible during pegging. You can't hold back; it's actually a penalty if you do! Glad you like the content!

Do you peg the Go and then play another card which would create another Go for your opponent and then peg a second point or do you peg only 1 Go and then play all the cards you can to reach 31 or as close as possible?
@HuddleAroundGames
@HuddleAroundGames Жыл бұрын
@@davidfinck4229 Only peg Go when no one can play any more cards. For example, if the count is a 24 and your opponent says Go and you have an Ace-2, then you play both your cards and take one point for Go! Pegging the one point for Go only comes AFTER all cards that can be played are played. Great question!

@@davidfinck4229 It's always the opposite of the person who laid the last card. If the person is out of cards, then the other player lays down.

If during Play the count is not 15 but say I play a 7 against an 8 do I get to peg 15 for 2? Say I lead with A, my opponent plays a 8 and I play a 7. The count is 16 but do I score 2 for the 7 against the 8? Love the videos!
@HuddleAroundGames
@HuddleAroundGames Жыл бұрын
Glad you love the videos! Sadly, you do NOT get the 15 for two. During the Play, you only get points for the 15 by making the count 15. BUT if you made the count 15 by playing a 7 on their 7 (A-7-7) you'd get 15 for two AND two for a pair.

What happens during pegging when I run out of cards and I have to say Go and my partner can play 2 or 3 more cards, do they get a point for multiple Go"s? Also, thanks for the cheat sheet!

No, they play cards until they can't without going over 31 then they score one point. If they hit 31 exactly they score two, not three.

I live in a seniors condo and we play 2 people cribbage my opponent had 4 quantities of 3 and the cut card was a 9 I thought she should have a count of 24 points but the other players said it was only worth 18 points. could you please let me know what the score should have been 24 or 18?

We have 12 for the four of a kind. Then, we must look at the 3s adding with the 9. 3a3b, 3a3c, 3a3d, 3b3c, 3b3d, and 3c3d. It's the same as the pairs, so another 12. 24 is correct.

I’ve never heard of such a rule, and it’s not in the ACC rules (unless I’m misunderstanding your comment). Can you clarify? It could be one of those regional differences (like how in the UK they consider 10-J-Q-K as equal when cutting for deal).
