@DanaDayne7
@DanaDayne7 4 жыл бұрын
Lindsey Stein Sorry for the rant preemptively 🙃 it’s not at all a “Mormon thing” to “have visions” I think your relating to the fact that their founder Joseph Smith “had a vision” of God and Jesus telling him where the gold plates were buried so he could translate what is now The Book of Mormon. Due to this many try to claim to have visions to others, so they seem more spiritually closer to God or a direct line to Him just like Chad claimed. It’s it’s not right that a religion as a whole like the LDS gets a bad taste in people’s mouth because a few crazies originally being LDS and then morphed into something so evil. Sorry again for ranting, I hope this made sense and that it’s not a thing within the gospel.

Hopsta you’re incorrect. The Bible teaches solid doctrinal truths which many people hold to. Ex: the Nicene Creed. There’s folks out there who are manipulated by satanic powers who twist the things that are in the scripture. Mormonism has done this along with many other factions and cults out there. The Truth exists and doesn’t need to defend itself. You have the freewill to reject the Truth and continue to live a lie yourself.

@@hopsta5628 you're absolutely right, I totally get what you're saying and I'm not saying that in the same polemic way that someone else (wink wink) did above and i won't litter my response with religiocentric narcissism either. It baffled me how people think their condescension is necessary when they encounter people who have risen above the need for religion. It's a wonderfully spiritual experience to realize that most "believers" of any religion only call themselves believers due to an indoctrinated fear of questioning what they've been told. (Pretty clever way of keeping people from becoming educated enough to see through the lies) I was raised in a Catholic family and went to Catholic school and sometime around junior high I realized that I could claim to "believe" all day long but it wouldn't be true because I wasn't given a chance to choose my beliefs, I was made to fear eternal damnation for questioning what I was taught I should believe, and I understood there was a world of difference between those 2 concepts. Once I made that realization and questioned everything I'd been forced to follow, I learned as much as I could about every organized religion I could find. It didn't take long before I realized that every religion began out of some political need for mass obedience and I decided none of them were for me. I continued to explore theism for many years and eventually came to my own conclusions that it too was man made and if we were supposed to know any of those things we would have definitive proof somehow, and that "miracles", however magnificent and unexplainable, were not proof, and we're likely just phenomenons we don't have the science to explain yet. I've seen some good happen because of someone's religious beliefs but I've seen alot more evil happen in the name of religion than good, history is proof of that

Hopsta I beg to differ, so you do think for yourself, because I think for myself also. Let’s get real, by being a believer or not, the thinking system is the same, us trying not to be like you, 😂 And you trying not be like us. Both are the same, you are not smarter just because you are not religious, I am not smarter because of my religion. If there is an end to this craziness, one day we will know. The most important thing is none of us are wrong. Religious or not the law is applied to everyone, and I can tell you that criminals are criminals, wearer you think for yourself or not.

*zhaneranger* That's who Narcissists and Sociopaths target... If you look into people like that, they all have very similar "traits" . My daughter's father was exactly like this. After speaking with my ex's ex-wife (who I now consider a very good friend, because we can relate, having gone through the exact same abuse), I found out that he did the same thing with her. He went after me, after my divorce, and he went after her, while she was in a bad relationship. They like to be the "Night in Shining Armor," and things like that. It's creepy how manipulative they are. They come in and build you up in such an amazing fashion, that when they start to break you down, they know you in such a deep way, that they know exactly how to get to you. It's horrible what somebody like this can do to you, if you get stuck... Thank God, I didn't end up with somebody like Chad. I only have a DVPO now, because of my ex. And as a side note : Even IF you are so batshit crazy that you believe in zombies and believe your kids have turned into zombies, then you should STILL love them enough to try and find a 'cure' and not kill them..! Anyway, I think it was all just hogwash, Chad and Lori wanted the kids' money (the 6000 she received monthly and the money Tylee was going to inherit on her 18th birthday) and they wanted to be free of the responsibility of younger children... that's it! Melanie G said that Lori herself sometimes doubted Chad's crap...so there you go...they are psychopaths, the both of them and should be given the death penalty or spend the rest of their lives locked up.

Could you imagine, your own father indoctrinating you into that lunacy from a young age? As his kids got older, you would think at some point they would have started questioning some red flags surrounding him. I don't believe his children & others close to him didn't have a clue to anything that was going on. Every last one of Chad's cult followers need to be heavily interrogated. Brandon reported that cult members (including children) were dying off like flies. Those mind-controlled people know things & they may have went along with Chad's murders, while under his delusional spell. To date, every single one of Chad's followers who haven't dumped that religion & who are publicly interviewed all still appear to be under some continued delusions of his. I really hope they dig up every inch of Chad's property, because those serial killers put more murdered bodies somewhere. They can start where they left off, in Chad's "pet cemetery". Lord, those people are evil.

The University of Virginia contains volumes of scientific studies on past lives. Ian Stevenson was one of the first scientists to perform as near to controlled studies as possible and wrote one of the first books on reincarnation. In 2016, 25% of US citizens believe in past lives. There are also countless anecdotal accounts of parents whose children recount past life information which is subsequently confirmed. Once a person reads the research, at the very least, one must consider that reincarnation is a possibility.

@@samsmom400 Right you are! Having your own planet, procreation in heaven (aka the "Celestial Kingdom") baptism of the dead, Jesus having a wife & children, God also having a wife, Native Americans as the lost tribe of Israel -- these tales are NOT Bible based. They are Mormon based. My husband & I used to listen to readings from the Book of Mormon broadcast from BYU. What a crazy set of cult beliefs! A Mormon missionary once asked me, "Can you believe a man with a 4th grade education wrote this?" I said "Yes, as a matter of fact I can." A man with a vivid imagination, who wanted to hoodwink the gullible & "marry" a bunch of widows & young girls, beguiling them with promises of great rewards for believing him. Anybody motived by adoration is capable of making up stuff. A lot of megalomaniacs wrap their schemes in false teachings: Joseph Smith, Brigham Young & Jim Jones to name a few.
