The Curse of Fatal Death (1999) is a charity spoof, lovingly mocking the short-comings of the classic TV series. Although widely not seen as canon amongst Whovians, it is regarded as a significant parody, being written by future show-runner Steven Moffat - as well as featuring a female Doctor!
No DVD/ Blu-ray release so far, except a clip of Rowan's Doctor communicating to the Master in Tersuran, on 'Comic Relief's 25 Monster Years' DVD...
Certain lines from the 'Fatal Death' Doctors also reappear as dialogue in NuWho incarnations, such as "I've put a lot of work into it".
In Lance Parkin's #DOCTORWHO novel 'The Gallifrey Chronicles' (2005), there is a passing reference to the Doctor having "three ninth incarnations", which was intended to refer to the Ninth Doctor played by Christopher Eccleston in the BBC Wales Doctor Who series, this Ninth Doctor played by #RowanAtkinson, & the Ninth Doctor played by Richard E Grant in the 'Scream of the Shalka' (2003) webcast...

Also, fun fact: This was made two years after the release of Tomorrow Never Dies, the 18th James Bond film. Jonathan Pryce was portraying that film's villain, the classic Bond villain inspired Elliot Carver, so as he's wearing his Master Costume in this special, he's wearing Carver's fatigues underneath. Just thought you should know.

Jonathan Pryce is so epically talented that it’s crazy how frik’n hilarious he can be. But yet still be wickedly awesome in Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983), among a multitude of other incredible roles.

Rowan Atkinson was a great Dr. Who. I wish he had played a season. But, Jonathan Pryce stole the show. Villains usually do.

I've always said that great sci-fi needs to be able to make fun of itself on occasion. Drama and tension are great ,but humor can be used surgically applied .Just remember, less is more. Even better for charity.

Subordinate Dalek: [implying the he and the Doctor have met before] "SO DOCTOR, WE MEET AGAIN!" The Doctor: "Yes. How are things?" The Master: "Observe, Doctor. I am no longer merely a Time Lord. My body has been augmented by superior Dalek technology." (The Master's right arm has been replaced by a sink plunger.) Emma: "So what can you do with that then?" Master: "What?" I think the ending with the doctor and master being A couple would work better if the roles were reverse: the master as A woman and the doctor as A man.

Kind of odd how there was a non-canon 5 additional doctor regenerations that never got seen in the canon series Edit: I only just thought of this but it would be a tad bit annoying if they somehow canonize this because of the whole ‘timeless child’ controversy 14:48 Yo is that Dr. Simeon?

Many thanks for this. Nice to see 'The Curse of Fatal Death' in all its glory. I first watched this story on VHS at a friends' house back in 2010. 😃 On a side-note, will you be uploading the 'Soldiers of Love' audio series by MJTV (who also produced 'TravelWise') any time soon? Best wishes, Tim 🙂
