I was 6'5 and 140lbs when i was going through some depression in school. My parents had no idea what to do. they never pushed too hard trying to force therapy or anything (i would have hated that) however just them showing their love in other ways did help me later get through it. Now married with 2 kids happy as can be

@@BBQBARNES-GAMING what did they do to show support? I've had depression my whole life & having a son of my own, changed my life & truly makes me feel strong. I want to know how to support without forcing. Just facilitating what makes him happy. He's only 8 yrs old but he loves moody music & gothic styles. Not like he likes evil or dark things, it just reminds me of myself & I don't want him to go through things I've been through. I've been in therapy for over a decade & my depression really took a massive turn when my Best friend was killed when we were 15. I feel like it's more likely now for him to go through something like that.. idk ..do you have any advice?? I appreciate your comment. I appreciate how it's helping me to think and be aware of caring 🙏💕

@@gillypiexo I don't have kids, but I faced a lot of neglect from my parents that started me down a hard path marked by loneliness, addiction, and depression (obviously I don't blame them for everything but I had no defenses/discipline/knowledge to deal with anything in life, in shot I wasn't given the toolbox I needed to make the right choices necessary to protect myself from the dark paths and those that would steer me in the wrong direction). I think candid talks with him about life and the serious shit we all have to face would be good. I think kids are a lot smarter than people give them credit for, and it's important to respect their autonomy (to an extent dependent on their age) but to help guide them through challenges they might face (age dependent again), things like women, drugs, depression, having boundaries, being responsible, standing up for themselves etc. rather than saying "don't do this, and make sure you do this". Maybe open up about the challenges you encountered at his age, and focus on the decisions you made and the consequences, raise him to be a problem solver who's been given the tools necessary to think through these situations life throws at us and make the choice most beneficial to him. Kids usually love stories from their parents lives but I feel like we're afraid to share some of the more serious ones that might really shape your kids perspective on reality. To sum it up find that balance between being your kids best friend but also a parent so he feels comfortable having dialogue with you about the hard things in life but also sees you as the guiding parental figure whose there to protect him, going too extreme either way can be detrimental. Also, very important, tell him you're proud of him and show great interest in his life. Some kids also need additional help as well, you can always try finding a therapist for him, make sure it's one he likes though and feels comfortable with.

The thing about Randy's coin flip that always bothered me is that he cheated. Best out of three means you flip it three times, and the one side you get twice, is the winning one. So, the best out of three times. He flipped it five times, that's a best out of five. He already made up his mind, and just wanted to blame a coin instead of himself.
@legalza0843
@legalza0843 3 ай бұрын
Didn’t he flip it 4 times before the final and 5 times total? I think the “best of 3” logic he was using was keep flipping the coin until whichever side comes up 3 times. So if you got tails twice in a row you could still get 3 heads and heads would win.
@slsthewriter1299
@slsthewriter1299 3 ай бұрын
@@legalza0843 But that isn't what "best of three" means. It's "which ever coin gets the best of the three times I flip." He flipped that fourth time to so that he'd really get whatever he wanted. Or he's just…not that bright. Which honestly. Yeah. That's probably it.
@thepoormanspoet3312
@thepoormanspoet3312 3 ай бұрын
"Best of three" means you flip 3 times...but that's not the point. The point is that it didn't matter what that coin said. If someone this nuts wants to pewpew a place up, they're going to pewpew a place up. He just said, "If it makes you happy, do it." That's what he did. No coin flip or anything else short of external force was going to stop him... So the coin flip was pointless, just a way to shift the blame internally.

@@IronFreakV if you watch his full length manifesto you will see he hated his parents for trying to help him. At the end of the day this guys was unstable and dove deeper into psychopathy despite those around him trying to help. He wasn’t introspective or aware at all, if he was he would have seen his parents attempts to help him for what they were, people who loved him wanting to help in whatever way they knew how. It’s hard to blame his parents in my opinion, it’s not like there’s some road map of proven ways to help people like this, at best you can drug them into a stupor and hope that those drugs work well enough to numb the person to the point of uselessness, at worst they make the issue worse by exacerbating their view that everyone is out to get them.

Having look at all the evidence, it seems like he was deathly afraid of consequences. He didn't want sex change surgery because he was afraid of the side effects, he didn't want professional help because it might have changed him and he was afraid of what would happen if he was caught and stopped before he could kill himself or even other people. His constant mention of fate is also pretty telling. He didn't want to have a choice, he wanted to believe that he had no power in his own life and that everything that happened was outside of his control. That's why he botched the fate test. He wanted to do the killing spree in the supermarket and when fate didn't give him the outcome he wanted, he repeated the test until he got what he wanted, proving that he was the master of his own destiny while simultaneously acting as if this was proof he had no choice.

Multiverse Theory exists in part to counter the fact that the universe seems finely tuned for the existence of complex matter and life. In all reality, almost certainly because it felt like a purpose, or just hot at the time. That's what being deterministic is, and I would know (though for much different reasons) - throwing your hands up and saying "there's nothing I can do" is a comfortable and spiralling state that is incredibly easy to be trapped in, to the point that you seek out reasons to be powerless.

Randy worked night shift and shot up his store during the spring. He may have been taking benadryl to help himself sleep during the day or deal with allergies, and built up a tolerance. The autopsy reports of the victims show he had shot them in some pretty deliberate places. Plus he fired 59 shots in around 5 minutes, meaning he would have reloaded twice every minute. I don't think he was tripping balls given the rapid pace he was working at.

So he created a delusional world in which he actually could become like her, commiting one of the most heinous crimes, instead of taking on the task of actually becoming someone who "he" wants (or can) be. Andrea Ye, of Rockville, whose preferred name is Alex Ye, was arrested on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, by the Montgomery County Police Department. The arrest follows a joint investigation by MCPD and the FBI Baltimore Field Office, initiated after the FBI notified MCPD about a 129-page "manifesto" authored by Ye. In the document, Ye writes about committing a school shooting, and strategizes how to carry out the act. Ye also contemplates targeting an elementary school and says that he wants to be famous. A search warrant obtained by MCPD led to internet searches, drawings and documents related to threats of mass violence. As a result of the investigation, the Montgomery County Department of Police - Community Engagement Division coordinated with Montgomery County Public Schools to increase security at schools, particularly Wootton High School. Ye was taken into custody and charged with threats of mass violence. He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where he awaits a bond hearing.

honestly, i did psychology for like 3 years and the comfort of depression is really dangerous. it’s a part of “learned helplessnes” where your brain tries to protect your sanity by letting you get used to shitty situations and feeling bad. so that when another bad thing happens, it doesn’t matter because you’re already sad, and you can’t feel much worse. it’s a bigger form of lowering your standards so you can’t be disappointed. these shooters are monsters who murdered and stole lives, it was their personal choice/reaction to a serious, but not uncommon human condition. it’s all just really sad, for anyone who feels like they’re struggling like he is, there’s always help, there’s always a better solution.

It wasn't until halfway through this video that I realized that Randy shot up that grocery store somewhat near me. I clearly remember the day after it had happened back in 2017 because I was worried about going into a Weis and something happening. To put it into some perspective, around this time there was many threats of shootings going around (especially where I had gone to high school) so an event like this had riled up my friends and I since we all had worked at either grocery stores/in retail. It's crazy to think things like this aren't just random stories on the internet, they are events that sometimes happen closer than we may think. That aside keep up the amazing content! It's always a good day with some Turkey Tom vids to pass the time.

I think this piece is incredibly eye opening as a psychology student with hopes to be a therapist one day. I truly believe this boy is a good example of someone who may have been able to recover and live a normal life if he got help early in his life. However, something like that may not have been possible for him with the lack of support from family and friends. It’s terribly saddening first and foremost for the victims and their families, but also as a look into some of the issues surrounding mental health education and care in our country.

I think this is the message that should be taken from this story. I think the tone of this video demonstrates a bias against the kid, and assumes the worst of every action he made, even reasonable actions. I think the mocking and saying things like "and his autistic art" really detracts from this video. It feels like there was a need to villianise this kid at ever step, rather than seeing this as the tragic downfall of someone who could have been helped. But what do I know. I don't have a KZfaq channel with millions of followers.

I feel that his fear for growing up led to the attachment to Ember as that’s what children do, they idolize and look up to characters because to them it’s real, and like in the show (her song was supposed to make people obsessed with her) he was infatuated with her, he was mentally dumbing himself down to escape growing up and death until it wasn’t just a placebo effect or fake anymore

He actually mentioned masturbating in inappropriate places multiple times. Dude loved to jack his wiener despite supposedly hating it and being a girl.

tbf a lot of asexual people still masturbate. Not saying he was actually asexual or gay but it's not really a contradictory sentence I guess 😅 Seems like he simultaneously wanted to be a girl and was attracted girls idk

I assume he had some sort of neurodivergence and became disgusted and terrified by adulthood. The EGS thing seemed to serve as a coping mechanism. He succumbed to delusions of grandeur to deal with reality , digging a rabbithole that he never returned from. I'm autistic and sympathize with struggling like that, but the bigotry and murder are monstrous and indefensible.

I can also sympathize, but I don't think that hole just leads you towards genuinely hurting people; then again, I fortunately never really got that far into that hole. Still, I think people like Stair, Rogers, and Cruz had something else going wrong other than Neurodivergence. Even at my worst, I still had a sense of empathy towards others.
