That’s because the past avatar’s are more like actual people. With Aang, it’s a heroes journey. And of course he still left chaos in republic city and let Yakone get away eventually as he wasn’t able to solve it before things like Amon happened. He created a city in the earth kingdom taking its land and then doesn’t even TRY to reason it out with earth kingdom royalty. (Even though the earth queen is a loser.) But with Aang he’s the hero of the story and so of course we had to see him “Solve Everything” in the end. The only good way to end a show that is based off a heroes journey. That’s how they ended Korra even if that show wasn’t based off a heroes journey. Everything got solved and the hero gets to walk away with the girl. In BOTH scenarios. That’s only how it’s seen because that’s how it’s shown. If we’re talking about Lore Aang didn’t only fail to “show up when the world needed him most” but then couldn’t finalize the necessary arrangements for the city DEDICATED TO HIM. And yes he died young because he was in the ice BUT STILL.

yeah foreal, whether the avatar does nothing and ignores the world or the spirit world, or directly gets involved in both, it always causes problem for the next avatar lol they are really embracing that butterfly effect. thats why it would be a lot interesting to get a new avatar series about the previous avatars rather than a new one. so much potential for endless stories

Yo did we all forget that Korra was able to bend 3 elements at the age of like… 4-6 years old? And mastered water and also probably earth (somehow) before or around the age of 12? Like yes Aang learned at a faster rate but he wasn’t bending crap at the age of 3 or four years old bruh.

The only reason Kyoshi as an avatar was slow to learn the elements is because she wasn’t even THOUGHT to be the avatar until she was basically like almost an adult or even 18 or older! I mean in the time she was the avatar it took her like… a few years but Kyoshi’s feats are what make her just a better bender.

@ix6959 to be fair if you argue kyoshi that she wasnt thought to be an avatar until later it could be also said to aang. the council are hesitant to tell aang hes the avatar because hes too young for the responsibilities and with gyatso helding them back from telling aang hes the avatar. i doubt if it wasnt for the fire nation attacking and waging wars they wouldnt even tell aang he is the avatar until much later too so its better to compare the faster rate of learning rather than how old an avatar when it started bending other elements. when aang was on the air temple he was already considered a master in air bending and the training is only for control because his airbending is too powerful for his age and if you consider the time he took to learn and master other elements its easy to say he is the strongest avatar. also at korra's time line it was much easier to practice bending since its peace time you dont have to worry about anything, at aangs generation benders are hunted down thats why katara was the only bender left in southern tribe then you need to imagine how hard it is find a teacher in fire element at that time too. on korra's time you can easily see all kinds of element benders in one city/town which is much easier to find someone to ask about other elements and how to bend them rather than aang where people tend to stick to their nations for safety. he needs to travel all around the world to find teachers and with the pressure of war that kills alot of ppl the longer he took time to take down ozai you can argue that with that situation not any 12 year old can do what he did.

@@tyronejohnson2453 the avatar state does not apply to learning the full techniques of bending. Aang never mastered the elements at 12, he mastered them later in his life. He only learned the elements at 12 enough to be able to fight Ozai, you could see in the fight that he still wasn't using the elements like a real master. There is a difference between learning a technique and mastering it. I used to do martial art and I know what it is to be able to learn and then master something

he mastered air, water, earth and was proficient enough in fire bending. also mastered the avatar state all in the span of a year and at the age of 12. some of y'all would say he didn't master earth bending because toph said it could still need some work but forget that toph is literally the greatest earth bender in the world and by her standards, she wouldn't consider aang a master but to literally any other earthbender, he is a master. remember how he manhandled the dai li agents who spent thier whole lives mastering earthbending. Aang mastered all except fire I don't get why y'all want like downplaying that achievement

This scene where Korra was Bloodbend by Amon fully not just psychic bending and Korra literally had extreme resilience against it and fought back. keep this Facts in your empty dictionary qoute and quote 'brain' Korra fought to Amon's bloodbending without any assistance not Even the Avatar state. While Aang almost died to yakone's bloodbending, he can't even barely moved his body not until the Avatar state defense mechanism triggers and he was finally saved.
