"If you strike at a king, you must kill him." - Ralph Waldo Emerson. Prigozhin made two fatal errors: he struck at a king and didn't kill him, and then stuck around instead of simply disappearing and never letting anyone hear from him again.

He could have fled to Africa and spent the rest of his years ruling over his own little blood soaked fiefdom like some colonial master of old. Instead he lingered in Russia and Belarus for weeks where his life was most at risk. Maybe flight to Africa was cut off to him somehow. Maybe there was some unfinished business in Russia and Belarus that was too important to him to simply abandon, regardless of the risk. Or maybe he really did just fall for the ridiculous promises offered to him by Luchashenko. I doubt we’ll ever truly know his reasons for not fleeing but either way I’m glad he didn’t. The world is better off without him.

In the immortal words of Machiavelli, "For it must be noted, that men must either be caressed or else annihilated; they will revenge themselves for small injuries, but cannot do so for great ones; the injury therefore that we do to a man must be such that we need not fear his vengeance." @@gabriela.3276COMPARE THESE TWO ARGUMENTS "Islam endorses war (jihad) to impose its law (Sharia) across the world. Therefore Islam approves killing people across the world. Muslims are dangerous - your Muslim neighbor literally wants to knife your little daughter and then blow up the local McDonalds." "Liberalism endorses war (e.g., colonialism, humanitarian intervention, military occupation) to impose its law (international human rights law) across the world. Therefore liberalism approves killing people across the world. Liberals are dangerous - your liberal neighbor literally wants to knife your little daughter and then blow up the local mosque." Why do so many idiots find the first argument logical and compelling, while they find the second argument illogical and absurd? Aren't both arguments illogical and absurd? Do you want to know why the US is broke and subject to an increasingly totalitarian surveillance regime? It is because the American people allowed themselves to be duped by absurd arguments into endorsing the "Global War on Terrorism" - spending 8 trillion dollars and agreeing to give the government unlimited surveillance/policing powers in the name of "fighting terrorism/extremism" as characterized by the first argument above.

@kiabtoomlauj6249

It's not that easy to kill someone as rich and as well connected as the elderly Putin chef. Remember, Putin and Prigozhin BOTH have gotten extremely rich since they first met, when Prigozhin was just out of prison and Putin was a young former KGB upstart (inexperienced as alpha male in the Kremlin) moving into the top of the food chain. The SOURCE of wealth they have shared all these decades is, of course, the federal treasury of Russia: Prigozhin hired tons of very well connected, highly competent former soldiers, officers, and intelligence officers who "retired" from the federal system; Putin PAID Prigozhin TENS of billions, each year, doing subcontrating work FOR the Russian's endless lines of work, in and around Russia & in distant lands (Asia, South America, Africa, etc)... ("Remember: you get in trouble, DON'T CALL US... because you're little green men not officially connected to the Russian government; but if you do a good job, you KNOW there will be billions more coming your way, doing subcontracting works.... ANYWHERE on earth that Russia has economic or military interest...") Trump's genius friend, Comrade KGB Col. Putin --- as a former intel officer --- got a giant CUT off of such contracting works by Prigozhin, of course. THAT is why Putin couldn't just kill Prigozhin on a whim, like what he's done to dozens of journalists, oppositional politicians, former intel officers who had defected to the West, scientists, students, unruly business oligarchs becoming too big, too powerful who challenged him in the open, etc. To kill off someone like Prigozhin, Putin needed to make sure all the former top/well connected folks (both currently in the Russian armed forces, like those 2-3 generals.... or those having already retired form the services but who were still well connected to the military structure) working with Prigozhin were "taken care of," one way or another... before he could make a move... This is NOT our wild speculation; it's how INTEL FOLKS in all societies work --- including the US (Black Waters folks, remember, former Pentagon folks so connected to BOTH the Democratic and Republican power brokers in Washington DC, you'd never hear much if giant corruption didn't go public) --- when they form organizations to milk GIANT state and federal teats ready to be milked to the max...

And even if Putin hadn't attempted to leave, it was clear he had lost control of things to the point the Belarus dictator had to 'fix' it for him. Prig just gained too much power. They were transporting James Bond to his death, but he broke free and struggled with the pilot for the controls, which explains the rapid fluctuation in altitude. Just as the thugs were about to overwhelm him, he detonated a hidden explosive device, which depressurized the cabin. The force of the thugs hitting the wings, as they were expelled from the fuselage, sheared the wings off, and the plane began to plummet back to earth. Fortunately, there was an attractive female with the last remaining parachute, and they both landed safely, and are now hiding out on a seedy island off the coast of Venezuela, presumed dead by the British intelligence services. If you're in the Caribbean, and see an anonymous British guy with expensive tastes escorting an exotic escaped sex slave under an assumed name, hold out for a bigger tip.

It's so sad that Prigozhin felt so bad about being very wrong and decided to take his own life in such a way. Especially just after he'd written a speech titled "I was wrong and Big Man Vladdy Daddy is the best" that was found when the MOD searched his home 47 seconds after the crash. On a serious note though, part of me thinks he's still alive somewhere - possibly captured, but probably in hiding somewhere. Not so much because of the Russian media, but this guy headded one of the biggest, baddest private armys in the world so he was presumably a smart commander. He must have had an exit strategy, right? Yes a bumpy, one but it can land especially with 30,000 Ft altitude to glide with and find an alternative airport. So I sure your 'thoughts' that this wasn't a 'natural' crash. Genuine feedback: Talk slower. We know it's fashionable on KZfaq to talk quickly in order to make the content seem more exciting, but this is a story that people are interested in and your content and delivery is brilliant so it doesn't need the gimmick. Off to watch your other posts 10/10 folks ! (well 9.9 given the fast talking gimmick) 😀

"Liberalism endorses war (e.g., colonialism, humanitarian intervention, military occupation) to impose its law (international human rights law) across the world.

Well, like Simon said, it’s also possible that the plane flew into into an area where its communications were actively jammed. The climbing and diving behavior suggests the loss of the vertical stabilizer. There's been several high-profile air disasters where this was the case, a 747 in Japan comes to mind readily. That was the result of a failed repair to the pressure hull causing the vertical stabilizer to be blown off. It's possible a bomb on board caused a similar thing to happen, assuming it wasn't a missile. If it was a missile, it could have hit the rear of the plane and caused the loss of the stabilizer.

Agreed, that sounds like pilots trying to adjust airspeed and remaining aerodynamic surfaces to return to level flight. It doesn't seem to explain for the discrepancy in transmitted data though, that is hard to explain unless there was active jamming in the area.

I initially thought that the vertical changes were in response to another aircraft possibly targeting them or some other evasive maneuvering to avoid being hit by whatever was jamming it's signal.

Or but you really can't. You can learn several people's personal point of view on history, nothing more. And if you dig a little bit you can find that reality may be a very different thing

Simon, this channel might be your *most important*, right now. In reporting, you always strive to maintain journalistic integrity, every episode stands as a gloriously accurate and unbiased middle finger to corrupt officials trying to lie to their own people and the world.
