@@Toxicfox63 No. The reasons why are that there's no cutscene viewer, so I'd have to play the entire game again if I wanted my protag in, and the story of X ends on a damn cliffhanger.

There’s actually a bit of dialogue you can stumble across in Junks from one of the engineers that describes how when Homs are fitted into faces, their circulatory systems are greatly increased in size and power in order to pump blood through the entirety of the mech. The red light visible in the body of nemesis and metal face is literally blood being pumped throughout the mechanical shell by their modified hearts.

It’s revealed by Yumea’s maid (who resides on Junks in Colony 6 after beating the game) that Yumea originally didn’t know Tyrea’s father was half Homs. But when they find out they kick him out of the order

@@otakudaikun they do say early on that very few have been there and it can be a death sentence. I think it's specifically a High Entia talking to Melia for a side mission there.

@@Zach984racer That's just general RPG logic. You fight through hoards of enemies, leveling up while dodging the stronger ones, as though you were the strongest heroes in the land and yet somehow the damn NPCs are hangin' out there without weapons like it was no big deal. If it's in a cutscene, you can go anywhere uninterrupted, but if it's in the gameplay it's a dangerous trek.

I will be ever thankful for Smash Bros. for introducing me Shulk and the XenoBlade games. I played the second game Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on my switch, when I was looking for a RPG game, and I did not regret my purchase. I fell in love with the game and did everything I could in the game, I even bought the expansion pass because I wanted more content in XC 2. Now playing Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition I'm fully enjoying Shulk's story and loving the characters and story. Definitely a must buy title on the Nintendo Switch.

I have to agree, although I was aware of Xenoblade Chronicles. Smash was the one to convince me to get it, though, so I got X on the Wii U, then 1 on the New3DS, then 1 again on the Wii U (Virtual Console), then then 2 and Torna on the Switch and finally XC:DE. No other game has made me happy to buy it three times, ahaha. I'm definitely doing a NG+ this time and unlocking most of the stuff! :D

Truly, a magnificent game. The Xeno series as a whole is really able to inspire, and get you to think on its deep themes. While Xenoblade is more on the Fantasy end, Xenoblade X, Gears, and Xenosaga are a lot more scifi, but either way, they have a ton to offer.

Is every Xeno game in the series connected in some way? Or just nods to other Xenoblade IP's?

@@user-sn1hi7my7x It's hard to say, we know Xenoblade 1-3 are connected. X is dubious for any of them. Xenosaga is all one story, and they are, and we do know this, connected (albeit not in a super statementy way due to legal reasons) to the original game, Xenogears. Something that appears in Xenoblade 2 may tie into Xenosaga, as may something from Future Connected, but it's only potentially. It's perfectly safe to play just the Xenoblade games, but, I'd recommend looking into the basic or summarized plot of the Xenosaga and Gears, since they're still a good story.

@@adamreddick1349 So. Basically like Final Fantasy. A bunch of games with the same name, but not all necessarily connected aside from sharing characters and lore. And Xenoblade X needs a sequel. There are a lot of cliffhangers at the end of that game.

@@user-sn1hi7my7x yeah, if you want to think of it that way, the segments are all kind of like a X and X-2 scenario. We just don't know the connecting Dissidia at this point to fully tie the segments together

This is probably the best video of its kind. It explains everything that most pf the Xenoblade community, including myself have researched about the incredible lore of the Xeno series. I have not watched until the end, so I presume you only covered Blade games, but even so, it's incredible. I'll edit this when I finish the video! :D --Edit: Yeah, it's amazing!--

Amazing video. Dude, this shit was more complex than my entire year of mid-school portuguese history, it's a goddamn 45 minute video about a video game saga, the information's so condensed I'm mesmerized how you can not shut up and stop spewing new information every f'ing second. To be fair, most cutscenes don't look like that. Only action or important scenes get that treatment. Regular conversations use preset animations, but these are still quality, as characters actually emote. Game is good, regardless

I had abandoned JRPGs back in the early 2000s when I started to play Bioware and Obsidian RPGs and it was thanks to Xenoblade Chronicles that I came back. One of the greatest games I have ever played. Remember getting a Wii in 2014 just to play this game and the two other games from Operation Rainfall. Good times

Can you imagine the constant dread of the Hight Entia. Always having to worry about the chance that at any moment, they could be turned into mindless flying dino beast. Losing your life is one thing. Losing your identity and having your body commit atrocities is another.

@@otakudaikun Tbh a lot of it comes down to the fact I have to keep hopping my thumb between the left stick and dpad for art swapping on switch which just feels clunky as all heck especially when you have the second game already under your belt which put that stuff on the face buttons. It is quite a personal thing but yeah the gameplay just was not clicking with me very much.

i finished the game just one day ago and have been thinking heavily about it since, and i can’t work out one thing. how was zanza inside shulk for most of the game yet he is also inside arglass at prison island? is his soul just split?there may be something i missed, but i’d appreciate any help on getting the answer.

Never played the franchise, watched my brother play Xenosaga 1+2, while my nephew played Xenoblade 1, X, 2 and is a pretty mean Shulk in Smash. I myself have only played Endless Frontier, Endless Frontier EXCEED, Project X Zone and Project X Zone 2.

Now I finally understand the entirety of Xeno blade Chronicles one and the importance of the Future connected post game. While I still have my complaints and issues with the game especially with the story, I'd be lying if I didn't say that I didn't enjoy the story. Now I honestly wish that the next game in the series will basically have this: the good character development of Shulk from 1, the soild side character growth from 2 and the mech combat from X. If the 3rd game will have that then that will be my favorite in the series. Now I would totally love to hear Xeno saga stuff if only because that series is really really confusing and Xeno gears since not a lot of people remember that 1 despite it being the official 1st one. The only thing people remember about that 1 is the fact that the 2nd disk was crap but other then that, great lore video, would love to hear more Xeno stuff and Meila is still my favorite girl. Great job Dai! Oh before I forget love the new avatar you have!

I actually really enjoy Gears’ second disk. Games a fucking masterpiece. What issues did you have with Xenoblade, if you don’t mind me asking?

@@otakudaikun I guess it is due to the fact that combat was a lot like how you would see in an MMO, only it's more like a console RPG with MMO mechanics. That is one issue and the other was the quests and how they were handled. However Definitive Edition fixed where you would do the quest and what you needed and I guess playing through 2 fixed my bias toward MMO type RPGs. Had some bad blood with Final Fantasy 12 because of that bias. I still do appreciate the series though even if I have one friend who tried to play the first one, but after a few hours could not get into the combat.

Hmmmm now that i seriously think about it both Zanza's and Meyneths' godly halo things are in the exact shape of the trinity processor especially during Zanza's final boss fight it even has a hexagon shape in the center exactly the same shape found on the trinity processor machine so it really does prove that Zanza only had godly powers due to the conduit/zohar and also the reason why Alvis says that his powers were finite becuase Klaus didnt truly become a god (only a God has ultimate authority, power, love, and perfection none of which Zanza had ever)

Came here for Xenoblade Chronicles x . Since it sounded like it would be talked about. however instead it just told me Xenoblade Chronicles 1. Well at least when I go to play that game I can forget this entire video, so I can experience it in earnest.

Spoilers Just FYI, the definitive edition redesign of Alvis all but confirms an old fan theory that he isn’t just “the computer controlling the conduit” as he states in XC1, but he is in fact, the third aegis which “disappeared in a demensional rift experiment” as klaus says in XC2. His redesign changes his necklace which used to just be a key into a red core crystal shaped just like pyra and malos’. This was believed to have been done due to how monoliftsoft not having a concrete plan for an overarching narrative connecting XC1 and 2. The remake solidified this connection more.

Hey can someone explain to me why Zanza chose to leave Shulks body when he was fighting Egil and not earlier? Was he resting and just couldn’t leave? I’m very confused

I think he had to leave once Shulk got shot. He wasn't about to let Shulk make peace with Egil so that just presented the opportune moment to emerge.

As a long time fan of Xenoblade, it was great to hear you talk about it. I’d love for you to cover the other titles, but not going to lie I’m somewhat worried how you’re going to cover the older games. Xenogears and Xenosaga are NOT easy to explain. Looking forward to it if it does happen though.

@@otakudaikun Still peeved about Xenogears. It’s a great game with lots of potential that was wasted due to circumstance. I’m hoping that one day they might get around to remaking it. It’s a long shot but as someone who has also been waiting for a Ufotable Fate Route, I’m used to waiting.

Doesn’t Zanza state that he had created and destroyed many times already? That begs the question of how he managed to do that before Arglas found the Monado. Which brings up another question- Where was the Monado up until Arglas found it? What was Zanza doing up until then? And if he started to dislike the life on Bionis, why did he keep making it? He wouldn’t lose any ether if he didn’t make life. And how/when/why did he choose disciples? How did Alvis become one?

@@otakudaikun That's fine. Most of the good word about it really starts in Heavensward. There were points in A Realm Reborn (the main game) that felt like it dragged on even with the recent rework so it might've turned you off. Kind of like those shows that you gotta stick through the first (meh) season to get to the really good stuff.

@@otakudaikun There were just too many things about her, as a person, that made me want to punch her in the face.... *A LOT.* Like, I kinda get it... but fuck was she a whiny piece of shit sometimes. Good lord was she punchable in Xenosaga 3. How Allen could deal with her is a testament to how goid a doirmat and food that he was. And the way she treated Jin wasn't exactly very fair either. I dunno. Ppl like her are a natural triggwr for me. Like, MOMO was actually more mature than Shion was, and that's kinda sad when you consider rhat Shion's a grown ass woman who acts like such a spoiled sack of shit sometimes. For me, I can't sympathize with her extreme bits of punch in the face worthy bits of selfishness. Call me an awful person, but fuck does she irritate me. Honestly, I sas happy I got to fight her, even if the circumstances for that boss fight were bullshit.

@@metroidcypher First off, Luka is best vocaloid. Second, Shion's sass is nice. Often times it's her lack of resolve that bugs me. She always seems so unsure of herself. Like the entire ending of the 3rd game was like an intermission for her.

I’m already seeing vivid themes of determinism, free will, Gods will and what that means for free will. Finding meaning without Gods will. What makes a soul? Can machines have souls? At what point do we stop being human? Aren’t we all machines made by a God /universe determined before we came into being? And finding meaning and a determination to live in the face these questions.

0:28 Falcom Games makes the best rpgs. I would say Atlus is 2nd. The Xeno series is great though.

I honestly don’t see the appeal of the Trails series, though I do love Ys. Compared to Xeno, however, none of them compare. If Falcom wants to compete they need to put more budget into production values. That’s how I feel anyway.

@@otakudaikun I mean I would get bored because of it's repeating and boring gameplay, but hardly get bored with the lore, art style and animation, I think it's one of those games that succeeds being an art piece or something really cool to look at but really frustrating or boring to play because of lack of variation and the hundreds of missions of the kind of go from A to B then come back, then go kill a monster go back. So I love Xenoblade from eveythink that is not the gameplay, I can look at how the maps are built for a lot of time. Well, you get it, it wasn't necessary to write a wall of text, sorry.
