I'm Israeli and I saw him playing a lot. I don't know enough about this draft class but in a normal draft year he is like 20+ pick. It's craziness he is being talked about as top 5 pick, maybe some GM's have PTSD from Luka.
@RennWickam
@RennWickam 3 жыл бұрын
I think he's the next Dragan Bender/Andrea Bargnani. Whenever a good European prospect comes into the NBA, the league starts looking for the next one and normally jumps the gun

@Doffy Donquixote Deni will be an okay player. He’s not going to be like Luka at all. His ceiling would be Gallinari/Utah Gordon Hayward but he’s not even a good shooter (percentage wise). The original comment is correct. Teams are desperately looking for the next Luka
@RennWickam
@RennWickam 3 жыл бұрын
@Doffy Donquixote I'm not trying to say he's gonna be on the level of Bender or Milicic, I'm just saying that the reason he's being touted so high is because the league wants another Luka. To me he tops out at Lamar Odom or Diaw but I really expect him to be more on the level of Dario Saric cause most teams won't know how to use his playmaking
@guyben1657
@guyben1657 3 жыл бұрын
In a normal draft he's 20+ pick? clown, Omri Casspi who was much worse of a prospect was a 20+ pick. In other words you claim Deni and Casspi are same caliber prospects, which shows how clueless you are. Deni is X3 better prospect.

@Doffy Donquixote what you mean, he has .2% lower than Harden, shoots better than a Lot of 3P shooters in the league and also, he shoots that much because If you close too much on him he is going to have a party infiltrating the lane

Its very low sample size...he is bad free throw shooter but he is in the 60s...
@andrewshandle
@andrewshandle 3 жыл бұрын
@@oror3751 In the Euro League, yes, he's 14/20 in his entire career (2/2 and 12/18 in two seasons), so we can dismiss those number. On the other hand, in Israel this season he was 50/86 from the line in 28 games (averaging 3.07 a game) which is not exactly a tiny sample size. For a comparison, Tyler Herro went 87/100 this season and that was spread over a lot more games. Andre Drummand and Dwight Howard were the only players in the league who averaged 3+ FTs a game and were that bad from the line at 57.5% and 51.5% respectively. Hell, even DeAndre Jordan shot 68% from the line this year! There's no way even a decent shooter should be be under 60% in 28 games which is a decent enough of a sample size for shooters. So that's a bit worrying to me too.

I don't trust a man who can't make his free throws. I remember KOC talking about how FT% is a solid indicator as to whether a player will make the jump to the NBA, but that was focused on collegiate players. I think he has the knowledge and ability to adapt to the NBA, he just needs work learning to shoot off the dribble.
@kkawesome1234
@kkawesome1234 3 жыл бұрын
The FT% is concerning. But his shot looks fine, and he has nice touch around the rim. I don't think he'll ever be a great shooter, but I could see him shooting around 35% from 3 on around 3-5 attempts a game in his prime

Really think people are overrating Deni rn because of Doncic not realizing how much of an anomaly Doncic. Yeah they're both tall european playmakers but Doncic was completely running his team with stepbacks, floaters and an array of offensive moves while also unleashing amazing passes in both the half and full court, all with immense swagger. Doncic is and was different than nearly every every other European prospect we have ever seen

@thatguyluis

Because the scouts and the GMs are looking into what these players might be 2-3 years down the line. Lol, Jalen Brunson probably is the best PG in college his senior year but he only got drafted in the 2nd round. Same with JJ Redick back then, the best college player but but got drafted late lottery. But it also have it's downsides like the reason why Thabeet is drafted 2nd in 09 because these scouts thinks he would improve his game once he hits the NBA.
@RennWickam

Cause Kobe really changed the draft process. Teams don't look at guys who can come in and compete after good years in college/overseas like Bird, Jordan or Magic, they pick guys who have potential to get there, like Ja and Ingram. The good players are looking to get paid earlier and teams would rather develop them on the highest level instead of getting comfortable killing lesser competition and ending up with a guy like Jimmer Freddette, who kills it in every league not named the NBA

Great video. He's a two year project. He's Very young. Mid 70s ft%, better pick and roll game, mid range jump shot and improved left hand make him a hedo type player

I honestly think he’s the best PROSPECT in this draft, but not by a wide margin. He intrigues in so many areas, but scares in a few others, and while his weaknesses are concerning, they are in no way unfixable, and I think he will end up fixing them.

How do you know an article has a bias against a prospect? when it showing only his cutting, C&S and 'role player' plays. Why you don't show all the off the dribble creation Deni has shown? why only showing his mediocre plays? :/ Also, Deni has a lot of good plays with his left hand, but you only shows his bad ones. I wonder why.

He would be a good fit for GS the way they spread the floor will give him a lot of solid opportunities to prove his self and the players on that team appeal more to his game and would be solid mentors based on his game

He's not going to make a huge splash in the NBA, but he looks like a very smart, quick witted player with good fundamental skills; very useful when given the right opportunities. If he can get his strength and conditioning level up to speed, he could be looking at the kind of career Omri Casspi had or even a bit better.

Yeah, I agree, and there’s nothing wrong with that. An average to above average starter should be picked in the 4-10 range which is where he will go.

@@DragonsFrogs No when drafting you're supposed to be drafting for superstar POTENTIAL in the top 5. 5-10 at least star and 10-32 is when you at least hope for a starter. I don't want my bulls drafting a couple time Allstar, high end role player that I think Deni will be. This class is just to uncertain that he's propped up to the top. Last year he would've went 10-15.

I think he's gonna be a solid player. Maybe close to a younger version of Gallinari. And that's not a bad comparison. Danilo has made ALOT of money in the league and continues to get lucrative deals at his older age.

I see Gordon Hayward essentially, something like the 4th best option on a championship team. Capable of doing everything but not the best at anything, usually will fall to role of in bounds pass on the final possession of the game. Someone every team will want, but never the centre piece of an offence or defence.
