I don't know if it is just me but I often forget Danny is even in the show. I see Frank and that is all, Danny is Frank.

For all the shitty, self absorbed actors out there, DeVito has remained true to himself and a genuinely great guy throughout a career far longer than most would be lucky enough to experience. He deserves all the love and recognition he gets, he's EARNED. and it's so great that this late in his career he can still play a character as influential and impactful as Frank Reynolds. Treasure this man, for there are far too few like him, and his absence will be felt when he's gone.

I love that they keep writing more and more horrific scenarios for Devito to act out to try to get him to back out of doing it, he has yet to not do anything they’ve written for him.

frank adds so much to the group dynamic and his regression over time has been absolutely perfect ! i love how much genuine fun danny has on the show it just adds to the performance to have someone completely on board with whatever hijinks the guys want him to get up to. a highlight of their most recent podcast episode christmas special is when danny specified that the one thing he doesn’t want to do is get circumcised on camera😭😭 i wonder what kind of talks were happening in the writers room to warrant such a request !

With every season, 'the gang' strays further and further away from the rest of society, burning bridges with everyone they encounter and consequently becoming more and more isolated, more reliant on each other's input rather than the input of outsiders. This causes them to enable one another's absurdity, becoming weirder and more depraved with every passing season, to the point where they can hardly have normal interactions with every day people anymore. . . Almost everyone who comes in contact with them is immediately put off, left wondering if something is wrong with them, or left so totally confused by the interaction that they end up asking, "what is happening right now?" "The Gang Misses The Boat" is one of my favourite episodes, because it represents the point of no return; they realize they've become completely toxic as a group, and they try to break up and reintegrate with society. . . Only to find out that they can't. They're so far gone, the only people left who can tolerate them are each other.

Any interviews where ‘Always sunny’ is brought up to DeVito you always see a big smile appear on his face, he absolutely loves the show

frank excepting mac when his dad didn’t, when we know frank to be fan of fanciful artistic expression really made me cry. Mac struggles with how to interpret his feelings but when he does so in a complex medium that happens to be one that frank can understand. Like a special language that mac and his surrogate father share

Mac's dance scene blew me away when it aired years ago. I still can't watch it without bursting into tears when his father stands up and walks out... I'm a grown man.. a straight man..

There has never been an actor that has made me smile as much as he has by just being in a scene.

Sure I was vaguely aware of its existence, but I watched the show for the first time this year… and absolutely fell in love. I saw like two episodes and still was a bit unsure about it, but the third episode was Mac coming out. That episode is the perfect encapsulation of what makes me love the show so much: on one hand the manic depravity and on the other a level of depth and sincerity (that even most „prestige“ shows lack). Im an older Millennial so I remember Danny from the multitude of 80-90s movies, but he will always be Frank Reynolds now it is such an iconic role that litterally no one else could do.

I just love because of his older age and really chill attitude, hes willing to just go along with the most batshit insane jokes and thats probably why the show is so great

5:27 Off topic but I just noticed Charlie wearing a shirt resembling "The Devil" card of the Arcanus Tarot deck. Very fitting hidden symbolism as The Devil card is often regarded as "one's self-made Hell." as it could also reflect on the show's recurring theme of the gang often suffering from a disaster or torment, which is usually in their own making.

Danny is NOTHING like Frank and that is just more testament to his acting prowess. He rocks and seems like such a cool dude in real life. Like what a freaking legend. And this show, even while the main archetypes remain the same, shows a lot of diversion in the characterizations of each character. It's fun to see how they all evolve or DE-Volve. It's all brilliant.

I love how he just trusted them and saw that what they were making was actually great and now he cant tear himself way from it.

There is a character that is very similar to Frank Reynolds, in Shameless the character of Frank Gallagher is very similar in spirit, less buffoon but just as depraved. There are very beautiful arcs in Shameless where Frank tries to turn it around and learn from it only to come out a more pure version of his depraved self. At least the way I see it.

Wario should definetely be played by Danny Devito. Ive recently started this show a couple months ago and the more I see episodes of Frank the more I see reasons why he is perfect for the role. Starting, of course, from the looks and voice🤣 and then from when i saw Frank's yellow Lambo with him dressed in yellow I totally lost it cause you know Wario's clothes are yellow and he has a yellow motorbike. Lastly in the episode: "Frank is back in business" The Alias that he is referred to which is "Warthog"(W for Wario) further strengthens the fact that Danny is certainly destined to cast Wario if there is a second Mario movie.

What other characters have changed so drastically? Rickety Cricket. Want me to go outside Sunny? Okay how about Pam Poovey from Archer. In the first episode Archer has her pinned down and is beating her with a puppet. A few seasons later you can't look back at that scene and believe it anymore, especially after she's mistaken for Cheryl and kidnapped.
