I’ve been saying this, the new trilogy is one of the most underrated trilogies out there. No one ever talks about them it’s a crime

I think everything started when Andy had that gig at the end of season one, and he was explaining the type of music he plays to the group, and April looks at him and says "I totally get what you mean". They saw chemistry and the rest is history!

I watched the show cause I love Andy Samberg and thought it would be funny and lighthearted. By the time it ended I loved every character in their own right and it being canceled felt like I was saying goodbye to my best friends

The best analogy I've seen for Tom Cruise's career, films and his skillset and how he doesn't use them to gun for Oscars or other awards or prestige (the way that doing films like this one could get him) is that one Spider-Man panel where Spidey's saying to a villain: "You could cure cancer!" and the villain replies, "I don't WANT to cure cancer! I WANT to turn people into dinosaurs!" Cruise COULD take his talent and drive and gun for awards and prestige. But he seems to WANT to do as many crazy-good action films where he does his own insane stunts for as long as he still physically can. Honestly, I respect him more for it than I do actors who just seem to be making movies solely for the awards-bait.

I think part of the difference between the apes films and other “blockbuster franchises” is that they’re not for the casuals that just want a good time. They force you to think in more complex and layered ways all through the film, not just in moments. You’re watching a species battle our own species and having to ask ourselves…our we as humans this horrible…and mostly..we are. Most people don’t want those thoughts. They’d rather just be told pretty plainly who the good guys and bad guys are….and prefer it not be them.

The original hulk in the tv series was the best. They should make a follow up to the last hulk movie the death of the incredible hulk. Maybe his son inherited his father’s problems.

this movie and scene completely changed my perspective on what a social thriller can be. a comedian directing this type of movie is perfect because humor and horror go so well together. the world can be incredibly scary and absurd, so finding a balance in both of them in life is where true art can be created. i wish hollywood would make movies like this more often and give people like jordan peele a chance to express their experience as a human. i remember being so blown away watching key and peele by how they could twist tragedy into comedy and entertainment and i believe that is why movies like get out are truly special.

I loved watching Sky High and Tomorrowland, and it was nice to see live-action Disney movies attempt to branch out into non-fairytale films, creating original stories and not another live-action remake of an animated property. I enjoyed watching Sky High in elementary school and I watched Tomorrowland in the middle of my high school years during the summer. Sadly, while they were fun to watch and look at, they were not very memorable for rewatch value or striking interesting discussions about their lore. May 14, 2024, 12:32am

I've thought about this quite a bit lately, and the best I can come up with is: The Apes are unlikeable. They attain their dominance on Earth via...questionable story-driven reasoning. Given their meager advantages and tremendous disadvantages it doesn't feel like they earn their conquest. They don't do anything worthwhile with their power. They are just as selfish and even more brutish than humans but without any of the upside (art, technology, etc). Its hard for mainstream audiences to get behind a group of protagonists like that. The movies really are quite good...and so at least critics love them.

Strange. I always took The Scouring of the Shire to be a physical representation of Shell Shock. You can't come home and everything is fine. It felt to me like an external representation of what the soldier goes through internally. For me it accomplished exactly what Jackson was aiming for with the 4 of them around the table.

I honestly think they arent as popular because to a significant fraction of the public the cultural memory of the apes movies are cheesy B-movies. A lot of people think the idea of a "talking monkey movie" is absurd and dont want to even provide the chance to he convinced otherwise. The fact they're animals and not aliens or monsters and its not comedy means some folks feel like they cant be taken seriously

I agree with their decision to cut the scouring of the shire. It worked in the book, but for the movie, as Sean Austin said it would’ve been terribly anti-climatic m. The movie and its own unique flavour ended perfectly as it should.

I dont see why you would write this if it made you "uncomfortable." You clearly wanted to make a period piece about pre civil war south and do what you felt was an accurate depiction. It was probably a good guess at some mindset and sociopathic tendencies of slave owners.

I’d say most of Gilda went into Leslie winkle. The only things of Gilda’s that made it to Amy was wearing sweaters and being smart and awkward. One could argue she was as much of a horn dog as the guys the only thing was she was attracted to both Sheldon and Leonard. Both Leslie went for Leonard and Amy went for sheldon. One could argue they just split the character down the middle and flanderized particular traits

I watched this movie on an overnight airplane with no idea what to expect other than, "Oh, someone told me this was good." I am NOT the type of person that gets so into movies that I start yelling at the screen, but this was a BIG exception. "oh no OH NO WTF!" ... "OH SHIT SHE LYIN!" ... I assume everyone else on that flight hated me by the end.

I LOVE The Injury. Dinner Party is more of a grand/special episode for the pure setup of it, but The Injury is honestly funnier. The characters are in their finest form and not just in a special setting/at a special event like in Dinner Party.

You showed the scene like 10 times. EVERY TIME destryoing the most important moment when she says "sink". You are the most tone deaf channel I ever seen. Dude can't read the script without that braindead yuppy tone. Editor can't stop running, can't edit this whole story about incredible editing and st orytelling with taste. Scene is about tension, emotion and pasing. Everything you CAN"T do. You literally ruined whole story with how you told it. Insane.
