So nice to see you work on a Ponderosa Pine. I haven't been able to fine anything on this species until this. Nice, nice tree. I have been interested because I stared a Ponderosa pine from seed, which proves I am an optimist at the very least. It has been growing for three years and is very slow, Much slower than the black pines I started at the same time. Fun nome the less. thanks for your great content. God bless you and keep your family safe.

Very cool, Bjorn. That pine is a beast! It’s so big it actually makes you look short. Love the unusual design choices and it really does show that the tree already has a design in mind for a bonsai artist to work with. I look forward to these videos to keep my bonsai sanity in check :)

This is possibly my favorite bonsai I've ever seen. Ponderosa Pine is one of my favorite trees to begin with, and I absolutely love the motion of the trunk on this one. I can't even explain why exactly I adore this one so much, it's just purely beautiful, and I love the work you've done with it. Can't wait to see the foliage start to develop. I hope that in a future life I'll be able to have a tree so gorgeous!

I love this bonsai and the direction you’re going with it. I’m particularly drawn to the deadwood on it, what character! I have a little boxwood bonsai outside right now that’s going to need a major trim before I bring it in for the winter. I’m in zone 5 so no leaving it outside, the pot would probably crack.

Another great video and it's great to have advice on what time of year is the right time for certain jobs. One question I have though. I notice you haven't used raffia on the bends, that I (albeit considerably less qualified than yourself) would have done. Can you explain why and when you would use raffia on such heavy wiring as this.

Bjorn can I suggest you get a hydraulic lift cart. You can buy them for a reasonable price from a tool store called Harbor Freight . I've seen carts like that used at the national arboretum. Allows you to move your trees without changing elevation and straining your back.

Damn, how do you choose between really beautiful and really beautiful? Apologize (if need be)I would lean toward the original incarnation. Later on, with new growth and training, I could be wrong (definitely not the first time). I’m really impressed with the trees you come up with and the extreme training you put them through. The needles are curved like on yours ( i have another black with absolutely straight spikes ) and buds of mine the same. Whitish and fat like yours .. so Could you tell me the variety of your pine ? Thanks i am gonna enjoy your work ! Added later on : Sorry i read afterwords that is a Ponderosa pine .. well i checked and ponderosa have more straights needles but some has curved .. unfortunately cannot send the pic of mine here !

Are you not concerned about the stretched out effect putting to much stress/weight on the lower point of the trunk, where the block of timber was supporting the tree? obviously it's a very large tree and pines are really flexible but even still that's alot of overhang, I guess in the wild it would be in a similar position. Your right it does look like a snake striking out, another stunning tree.

@@PSPMHaestros for it to be right or wrong beyond legality you have to venture into morality. This tree has suffered from malnutrition and injury its whole life. If you saw a wild animal starving with a broken leg would you want to see it taken to a rehab center and lovingly cared for or leave it to suffer because nature is cruel and vultures need to eat?(Also understand that just like the animal vast numbers of trees are still out there in similar condition regardless of your actions) I see it as similar. This tree is being lovingly cared for by a professional. And so long as it was harvested legally I don't see an issue. But that is my opinion and you are free to yours as well. Hope you are having a wonderful friday.
