Welcome to the Doncaster Bonsai Experience 2024, where the ancient art of bonsai cultivation meets contemporary creativity!
This is the largest show of its kind in the north of England and attracts visitors from all over the UK.
For the last few years hosted at Markham Grange nursery, at Brodsworth, near Doncaster, this event, held in late February and September brings together bonsai enthusiasts, artisans, and curious onlookers alike - to celebrate the meticulous craft of cultivating miniature masterpieces.
From exquisite displays showcasing a diverse array of bonsai styles to interactive demonstrations led by seasoned practitioners, the Doncaster Bonsai Experience Show offers a captivating journey into the world of miniature landscapes and artistic expression.
Whether you're a seasoned bonsai aficionado or a newcomer eager to explore this time-honored tradition, the show promises a truly immersive and inspiring experience for all.

Your new pine tree is stunning! I think you're right about the color of the new pot setting off the deshojo colors. Excellent choice.

It was very cramped. I think this event has grown rapidly and been a victim of its own success. Hopefully an alternative venue can be found for next year.

I was glad I came but it was a bit of a scrum. All of the display trees were fantastic, but Caz Bonsai's Shohin did it for me. I also got a couple of Walsall Ceramics pots and three very nice Japanese Maples from the nursery. Worth the 2 hour drive.

I checked the events calendar on the FOBBS (Federation of British Bonsai Societies) website. There are a handful of smaller, local club events and a bonsai display as part of Hyper Japan Show at Olympia, London on 19-21st July.

I believe it has become a bit of a victim of its own success and combined with the smaller venue space may have outgrown this venue. I definitely appreciate the organisers have difficulty out decisions to make balancing costs against available local spaces and needs for parking etc I wonder if there might be something that could be done involving sponsors.I’d be happy to chip in a couple of hundred pounds from my own pocket to help keep the event running successfully so others can enjoy it.
