Besides the 8ths on hihat all over the place, and maybe some of the attitude in the lyrics, it's not similar at all. It's a pity they had to call it quits.

As if the Ramones could outdo The Donnas or play a single note of lead like Allison did! It is a shame that Torry couldn't continue playing drums and later they decided not to carry on. I have a really good all woman Japanese rock band for you---Band-Maid. They are so good they shut up the misogynists. Steve Jones for sure, but also Malcolm Young, Rick Nielsen and Paul Stanley as well. Allison's a dynamite rhythm player, funky and powerful and right on the money timing-wise. She's an effective soloist, too, but rhythm guitar and songwriting are what matter most and she delivers on both counts.

Tori retired from drumming in 2012 due to permanent injury to her shoulder. They recorded a few more songs, but never released them and have moved on to do other things in their lives. I'm not sure what Allison and Maya are doing these days. Brett has done music for television commercials. Tori graduated from Harvard Law School - talented, beautiful, and smart! :)

Yes, weak songs, they wrote so many youd think they wouldve had a truly great one. The song You Dont Wanna Call Me is the best one I think.

@@shanemiller2046 I have analyzed what it is that keeps them from sounding good and I think it's the songs rather than her voice. She is singing the melody in key but it's not good melodies. Ive written a lot of songs and have learned that if a song is weirdly hard to sing, like it's too low and hard to connect the notes, then I abandon it cause that means it's just a shitty song. This is how their songs sound to me. It all sounds cool til she starts singing and you cant really hear her or discern a melody and it just sounds weak. It's such a shame cause they had everything going for them otherwise.

@@shanemiller2046 Jesus Christ, I just listened to it again and wow it sucks! The people in the audience must be faking their enthusiasm. Im pretty sure it's the songs though, just weak and lacking a real melody.

@@joejones9520 Generally I will write a simple melody line with my acoustic and hadmoni,e with it for a vocal melody. She is singing in almost monotone with so.e stupid little squeel at the end of a verse. But..... To be fair , being a front person is more than having a good voice. I spose that is why they label their style as punk. Lack of a decent vocalist. I did listen to another song off an album , about your girl. The sound engineer did her verse lines dry and doubled the track on the chorus for effect. It hid her atrocious singing pretty well. Take a listen and tell me what you think.
