hey guys! FINALLY. The last part to the series is done and out for your enjoyment. Again, please don't go send hate and ill will to this family, it sucks enough that the kids have to go through it and PUBLICLY. I really hope that this series opened your eyes (like it did mine) to the dangers of family vlogging channels and how scary the world can be for not just the kids but the parents as well! With that being said, I won't be uploading this week lol Im gonna take a week off and work on catching up with school stuff and also researching my next topic 🙊. ANYWAY I love you guys so much and I can't wait to hang out and tell stories with y'all again. 💗💗

Overall: What Shay did was wrong and disgusting. This affair went on for 3 MONTHS. There's literally no excuse as to why he kept going back to the woman and continued to cheat on his wife, the clock was ticking for him to eventually get caught and he knew that but still pursued. It was a choice , and a wrong one and I feel like he understands that now (after 3 years). As I said in the video, the family is still trying to heal from all of this (especially the kids who are getting dragged into it because their faces have on the internet since they were 4 years old). SO PLEASE don't go and send hate to the family. I hope you learned a lot during this series about the messed up things that goes on with family vlogging channels (I know I have lmao). Anyway, hope y'all enjoyed and can't wait to hang out with you and tell stories again :) xoxo, Hailey

I think that he got upset when Nina mentioned his kid because he had only associated Nina with the sexual nature of their relationship and she “ruined his fantasy” bringing him back to his reality of being a father with a WIFE. That’s my pop psychology for today. I wonder if they would have continued if she never mentioned the kids.

They could highlight how families keep trying to maintain a “perfect family” visage, and it’s actually harming the kids/family that isn’t doing the physical vlogging. It could be turned into a sort of competition in which families enter to win some recognition (money, game, or something else) by showing the perfect lives of the family. For example, the 8 passengers channel could be in an episode where the mom, Ruby, enters into an online competition in which the winner gets some prize. So she starts following the competition rules (vlogging everyday, minimum time limits, interesting content, etc.) only to realize that as more and more people are eliminated and more people start watching, that it’s harder to keep audiences watching. So she starts to up the ante by doing crazier and borderline sadistic pranks/punishments to her kids. In the end, she does something so awful that either 1) police take custody of her kids/divorced by her husband or 2) one of her kids ends up getting seriously injured and/or killed and she ends up losing custody this way. Ruby ends up winning the competition. But she also lost her family doing so.

People go to therapy after getting cheated on. You have NO respect for your partner and you’re willing to lie and go behind their back and abuse their trust so you can get your nut off. There was only one person with a spouse here and this is the one that decided to cheat. She was wrong, sure, but she didn't swore anything to his wife, he did. It's astonishing how people try to excuse an adult man as if he had no free will and was forced to do what he did. Men cannot have it both ways- either they think with their brains and are responsible for their actions or they are some sort of animal that thinks with the other head and is lead by it, but in if it's the second how can they claim they are somehow superior to women?

I met Shay and the kids when I was 16 or 17. I’d been a fan of there’s literally from the start and was one of their earliest subscribers. I’m talking...less than 500 subscribers and it was when Shay was mostly filming himself from his DJ job. The shaytards channel didn’t even exist. Like before we even saw the kids really. Anyways, I’m 26 now and honestly grew up watching them. It was so bizarre when I met them because I literally knew and saw these people every day, and knew them on a very personal level....but it was completely one sided. It was actually jarring meeting them, especially the kids, Brock particularly. Every single day I’d rush home and check throughout the school day to see when he was born. I watched his birth. I knew the most intimate aspects of these people’s DAILY lives...and they had no idea who I was. I felt like I knew them. I truly felt like they were like family to me. And they had...zero clue about me. Colette and Shay both acknowledged recognizing my name and I knew they were telling the truth because Colette commented on something I’d shared with them via social media and she showed genuine concern and was glad to hear everything was okay. They commented on how they always saw my comments on everything. But these people were complete strangers and it was honestly jarring because I’d grown up knowing more about them and seeing much more of their daily lives than I did most my family. I saw more of them than I did family members who lived like ten minutes away, and they lived across the country from me..It was bizarre. And I feel like had I not been a reasonable human, I can see how people could easily overstep. I saw a lot of people just run up and grab the kids. Someone out their arms out and went to take BABY Brock from their nanny at one point. And the sad part were most of them were literally adults... But they felt like they knew these people. It’s honestly a recipe for disaster..

What you just explained is called parasocial relationship, it happens often with celebrities/musicians and their fans, but the rise of youtube (and now twitch) has taken it to a whole new level and now happens much more frequently. Confession: I used to watch the Shaytards all the time when I was younger, but stopped when the seemingly disappeared. At the time, I didn't know about the whole cheating scandal. Needless to say, I completely stopped watching them after learning about it. And going a bit off topic, but I noticed that so many family vloggers are Mormons. No matter how "wholesome" they try to act, there's just something so off about those channels (Like 8 Passengers). They just radiate toxicity
@kjeracarroll450
@kjeracarroll450 2 жыл бұрын
That is because a lot of KZfaqrs are toxic naturally. It has nothing to do with their religion. There are so many good people in the religion. KZfaqrs aren’t necessarily a good representation of members. Unfortunately the extreme or the loud ones out there filming get the attention and get noticed. But they don’t represent everyone.

@@souliewrld I don’t need to watch anything on it when I know so many in the religion and I live it myself. The problem, just like any group of people or religion is the people, especially the extreme or radical people or people who make poor choices. They don’t represent everyone. There are people who don’t live what the actual religion teaches. It all comes down to humans. Humans make mistakes. I don’t know why people feel they need to hold a tribunal for religions. I have seen enough KZfaq videos about the religion that has been twisted into different people’s point of view and opinion. What I have learned over the years is some don’t actually learn what it is about or what it means and get the wrong idea of what it is. Another, when people are angry at a religion and leave it, they can’t leave it alone and will attack it. They say things that aren’t true, or they never learned real truths. So many people only know the culture of the LDS religion and not so much the doctrine. Which really do not go hand in hand. Some how in some areas say like Utah, they have created a culture that doesn’t go with the teachings of the religion. What people need to understand is, the church is a global one. You will find amazing people all over the world who are LDS. Who are kind, loving people. Taking someone’s word for it that left isn’t always what you should go off of. I know who you are referencing and I have seen a bit of their stuff and guess it what, it’s strange, it weird, irreverent and does not represent what the church really is. That is my two cents.

As someone who used to watch the Shaytards religiously in 07-11 (when I was a teenager), I do feel you skipped over the fact that the family started out as struggling financially. They were this kind of rags to riches story, that we could see every step of their journey since they had daily vlogs. While I don't watch family vlogs now, I feel like that was what made people like myself such big fans back then. They were real, and felt like our own family. I think that's important to note. They're very different than Influencer families are now, and if you watched them back then in real time you would know what I was talking about. That is so true. As a brazilian child that was raised with an american culture (my parents and siblings lived in the USA for years but I have never been there) watching the Shaytards family was very nice and showed a realistic family in the USA that my mother would talk about it to me everyday. It made me not only fell in love with the USA but also learn english way more than what my family would teach me. My biological father wasn't present in my childhood but I had a stepfather and I would always think about how similar the two looked (Shay and my dad). And I guess they were very similar because my stepfather also cheated on my mother. And I'm also the same age as the oldest son. It's crazy of how similar we are.

Ginger will help your throat a lot. It's a regular practice in our Indian household Especially in winters You can add some crushed tulsi leaves (2-3) too Amazing health benefits I am sorry I suck at measurements I usually do it by 'andaaza' umm idea of doing it because of regular practice. It's called deflecting or trying to change the subject. When a guy sends me explicit messages that I didnt ask for I'll completely avoid the explicit conversation by asking about their kids or wives. HE was thinking about sex, she was not. We talk about their kids to distract them bc surely you're not pleasuring yourself at my expense while talking about you're children. Guys don't understand how gross unsolicited sexual messaging and pictures truly is. They don't understand how uncomfortable it makes us, or they don't care, they're only thinking of themselves bc when I change the subject, the messages stop completely, until they're ready to try again.

@@jesalopez660 she said herself though that she actively participated in the sexual conversations. It wasn't unsolicited. They were both benefitting from the sexual messages. Great doc series! Facebook suggested, years ago, I follow ACE family and I'm not one to follow parents that promote their kids, personal life, I didn't even find it interesting, but that's just me. Can def see how the constant public eye and lack of privacy, especially for the kids, can be destructive. Seems like money is the motivator. Great job! ❤

so i consistently watched the shatyards from like 2009-2014 and they never showed any negative aspects of their life. like maybe something annoying would happen but it was never a “oh no what will we do” kind of situation. they really did show their life in such a positive lens and i’m sure that put a lot of pressure on the whole family to be “on” for the camera and to not do or say anything that would change that perception. their life seemed so great to me that when i was at one of the most depressed i had ever been, i nearly became mormon because i saw how happy they were. luckily, my friends and family were like “do not” but their life seemed amazing. i truly hope the kids aren’t messed up from being on camera for so much of their lives.

I hate how collete and shay both talked about their relationship and him cheating as some “rough patch” they talked about how they’re struggling and how relationships are hard work ect but.. cheating isn’t just a “rough patch” cheating isn’t normal in most relationships. Cheating is a horrible way of saying “I don’t truly love you and don’t wanna be with you” I get that she loves him and loves him to much to let go but I see her trying her hardest to justify what he did as a “rough patch” and “relationships aren’t perfect”

He created such as toxic environment that his employee literally fled from Idaho. I remember how crazy it was, the concept of the movie "The Truman Show" and now seeing these people doing it voluntarily, it's just really,.. surreal. And I really think that the kids are included as some sort of props And the kids, I assume, can't say no because mommy or daddy wants to record you and they are your parents. It's scary. Also, I loved what you said about Cancel Culture. That's exactly what I think it's wrong about that whole trend.

it was so heartbreaking finding out about the scandals and all of the issues that happened with the shaytards. i literally grew up watching them, i would watch them when my mom left our family for a period of a few years and it made me feel so happy to watch another family be happy. i looked forward to their christmas clogs every year. so finding this out when it happened was so heartbreaking. i even met them and their children at an event and they were the sweetest people, especially Colette, my mother even sat down with them and talked about how much they helped not just me but my family get through the rough times. it’s so sad that shay turned out like that i just hope their family is okay now because they genuinely were role models for me as a child.
