And what I think helped a lot? *Presentation.* That's one of the crucial things that Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is lacking, it's not as beautifully presented as this and past games were, and neither were any of Capcom's recent fighters.

Plus we are in the west, of course marvel is more recognized as opposed to capcoms lineup oc obscure classic game chars

To be fair, Tron Bonne got in this game over the Blue Bomber (just about any, really). It was mind-boggling at the time how she made the cut whereas Mega Man _got_ cut for fairly trite reasons. You are merely echoing the distress of X fans back then. Seems like the tables have turned, but it makes one wonder what would happen if we got characters like Hayato and Jill Valentine (Marvel 2 look) back. Surely, Amingo and Akuma fans would rage to no end, and vice-versa if the latter were true. I would love to have Ammaterasu back though. How Firebrand and his _disgusting new voice_ got in over her, I do not understand. My main gripe with the game however is how its content is distributed. The asking price for its DLC, and the fact there's DLC at all this early is the real kick in the shin. The game looks fun enough to play, but there are other glaring issues that make it NOT worth the buy.

Supposedly, the real sound is cursed. Capcom recreated it (I assume) but added the child laughter to partially censor it.

Children laughs in Japan is a sign of a bad omen (in other words, something bad that will happen). There are multiple ways of bad omen, but this one specifically means "death", since it means "someone will lose it's joy in life" That's how i have understood this omen.

What I DO remember was this game plus MK9 kick startin' back my interest in fighting games. Man, I loved 2011. Such a simpler time...

B4.DA.$$ its core gameplay is amazing. Tournies helped the hype because at high level, they were pretty damn entertaining and hype inducing to watch. The issue people initially had was that it had no content to speak off and vanilla lacked a roster especially when compared to say mk9 which was a full package on its own.

NovaBlazerZX Personally to me the roster to me was good having new characters, MK9 roster was good but Armageddon had 64 characters im sure, even bigger than Mvc2 cast. Mk9 had 29 to begin with Im pretty sure less than vanilla marvel.

B4.DA.$$ yeah but people have high expectations because it is a crossover. If an older game had around 50, it feels like a step back to have like 15 less than a game that came out a decade ago, even more so when there were characters like cap commando and cable that were well loved. On top of that, mvc3 had next to no extra modes which disappointed a lot of people. It wasnt worth its initial price at the time.

The stats don't make much sense. It's best to ignore them. Otherwise we'd get things like lightspeed Chun-Li and omniscient Wesker.

The stat in vanilla MvC3 are just absurd. Like they clearly are using Marvel's Power Grid, but in this case, 7 in speed would mean that distance are litterally meaningless to Chun-li, and that she can go for one corner of the universe to the other in a blink of an eye. And I'm pretty certain she can not do that. Even 3 in Speed is kinda pushing it, as it stands as a Superhuman one. Maybe Laura could be considered a 3 if you really squint, but Wolverine or Captain America are definitely a 2, wich is the range of a regular human. (Rule of thumb: In Marvel's Power Grid, a 2 is not "Bad", it stands for "As good as a healthy regular human")

More MvC3 Power Grid absurdity: Haggar is a 7 in Strength, as in, he'd be in the "Incalculable" range, and able to lift over 100 tons. He's also a 7 in durability meaning he's as indestructible as Odin. Spencer is a 5 in Strength, wich would make him as Strong as Spiderman, Vision or Drax, he's also a 4 in Speed meaning he can reach the sound barrier. Apparently Ryu has no need for training, as he's a 7 in Fighting Abilitues, meaning he mastered EVERY form of combat in the world. Also, Tron Bonne AND Wesker are Omnicient beings that transcend the concept of intelligence and knowledge.

RevunGaming it's about game play speed. Wolverines attacks are fast as all hell but he has very little mobility (in ultimate) when it comes to closing the gap. Him and X can't run, they have a short dash, and their aerial options for movenent are sluggish. While chun has more mobility options.

That's pretty much the definition of Infinite. Look, anyone could be happy with a game with a lot of years in development...but MvC:I started literally last year (Capcom got the rights again, and they started with MvC:I); reason why 75% of the core roster are old characters from the last game. It's easier to port a character rather than doing a new one; reason why the new fighters amount is SO small in comparison with returning characters. MvC:I what has as a plus, is that the gameplay is crazy and hilariously ridicolous. Like any Marvel game. But that's it. The rest of the game has SO many cons to it, that it outweights the gameplay. My priority in games is the gameplay, and then the rest. But is just that the rest of stuff in the game is just really uncomfrotable. Music, VA,joke of story mode (i know this is not a selling point, but you would expect something good from...a comic company), character decisions...i don't mind the graphics at all if it has a fun gameplay (Fight of Gods F.E.), but the practices Capcom has had over the years is ridicolous. I mean, Capcom is high af, that they are going to release Okami HD, yet Ammy isn't even in Infinite.
