The Dreamland Tree is a long form, multi-part piece of instrumental music in the tradition of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn and Amarok.
Running at over 50 minutes, it almost certainly demands a level of commitment, concentration and repeated listening to achieve its full effect. Themes and variations are stated, developed and intertwined across the course of its musical development and the mood alternates between exhileration and relaxation.
I wanted to create the kind of album Oldfield used to make; emotional and affecting music, shot through with a level of sophistication and intelligence that stimulates the mind and the body. Subsequently, I've worked on another album called 'Furniture Music' which is also available on this channel. And a sequel to Furniture Music will be available this year ...
