Happy double-feature Monday everyone! This may happen once in a great while if I have videos to upload while on a schedule. Today we are finally addressing the issue of installing a rear brake to the Drift Trike. A buddy of mine in Washougal, WA would like to also ride and send it with Bandit.

Hey man, where’d you get the brake cable holder in the rear? I can weld up the bracket I just can’t seem to find any brake cable holders

It was just hijacked off of a bicycle c-brake assembly. The piece that you run the housing up to, and then the exposed cable that normally clamps to the unit. Alternatively you can either A) drill a small hole through a bolt and tighten that down to your bracket, or B) clamp the cable with a fat washer really tight.

Ah. Back then these were 10” ID (inside diameter) PVC sleeves that I bought from BMIKarts. Nowadays I run a similar material that’s black, somewhat softer, but it isn’t ABS. You might be able to get some from a construction company that took their old city piping out of service (new materials for new codes or whatever)

You boys ever try your hand at stick welding? I just learned how so I could center the steering on my Yerf Dog. I tried the same welder your running in the video and it was super annoying to get in tight places. I ran an Arksen 100 amp AC ($70 new, basically something you'd find at the bottom of a box of cracker jacks) with 3/32 6013 rod. It was a whole lot easier than trying to get in tight with the flux mig gun. You can see the rough welds in this video, there were some really weird, tight angles to get in for some good beads. Hey there, I actually got a stick welder for Christmas, and started practicing it on my channel! You should check it out. 6013's are the best to practice with so far!
