Port of Spain's Cecil Anderson a.k.a. The Duke of Iron with rendition of "Take Me Down To Los Iros" a.k.a. "Don't Le' Me Mother Know", first recorded in 1935 by the Keskidee Trio (Atilla, Beginner, and Tiger). Keskidee or Kiskadee is an anglicisation of "qu'est-ce qu'il dit" ("what did he say?"), call of the Trinidadian bird pitangus sulphuratus.
Los Iros is a secluded beach on the south-western coast of Trinidad, facing the Columbus Channel between the island and mainland of Venezuela. The song tells of a young man who is led astray by a society girl.
Dukie's rendition is undated but probably recorded in 1957 in New York during sessions for his RCA album "Calypso Carnival".
