@@bobabooey4537 Guess you have never been to a dirt track race then. IT's very easy to squall tires on hard packed red Ga. clay especially when it gets dry slick. And it takes on rubber like an asphalt track does too. I know, they trucked tons of Red Ga. Clay to our local dirt track at the beginning of every season here in Tn. Red Clay tens to hold the water longer and stays tacky longer than any other dirt.

It's always weird when a show's formula changes like that. It happened with the early episodes of Miami Vice too. Though this show was even more heavily altered.

so agree. Rosco became a bumbling bafoon later on, instead of just a corrupt cop. Not to mention Hogg. He was dangerous in GA. then he just became silly.

When the producers realized that kids made up a huge part of the show's viewing audience they knew they had to make it more comedic and light-hearted. This more than anything is what drove the change in the show's formula.

i was born a little late to see the dukes of hazzard before reruns but i to had a great friday night tgif as it was called loved it wish we had that style back loved sitting with my dad mom making popcorn the one night i got to stay up past 8 loved every second of it.

@@tommyg9719 Problems people would get "offended" by the confederate flag when in the dukes of hazzard case has NO relation to slavery or racism. I have no problem, i'd love to see it. But it would get alot of controvery over 1 thing.

​@@seanbrosnan2074 Well TV Land did censor out the Confederate Flag in the later reruns of the show, but even if this were to be remade today, they could just put an American flag in place, and if anyone gets triggered by that, they probably shouldn't be living in America. But aside from that, this would probably trigger the FCC, because there's a lot more Boss Hogg's and Roscoe's that run the system nowadays. And not the funny, goofy kind, but the first season mean and evil ones. Sad thing is that nowadays, most of us are Duke Boys and Uncle Jesse's.

jerrymail According to them warner wanted to film closer to there studios and yes it was cheaper but the Georgia episodes were way better.

The GA episodes are some of the best of any show in history. The show was significantly dumbed down after the move.

@@331Grabber that was not because of the move that was and this is from luke duke himself the time change thanks to the standards and practices when they went from 9 (a more mature time slot) to 8 they had to make it more family friendly

IT lost some of it's personality when it went to the sound stage and in GA it just felt more real. Not to mention I thought the episodes in GA were just more serious and Rosco and HOGG felt more of a real threat rather than just becoming goofy bad guys in the CALI episodes. Season 1 and 2 were my fav. Then I kind of lost interest a bit...

Continuity was never a strong point of the show. If you pay close attention to the General you'll see the roll bar changes from two point to four point to six point to none. The rear side windows be up or down and occasionally the seats will have headreasts. There's one scene where the roll bar is chrome but you never see that again because they pad it. Also the interior colour changes and the colour and amount of padding on the roll bar changes. The first shows had a narrow push bar on the front and later ones a wide push bar and occasionally the push bar changes because earlier scenes were recycled

Martin Wilk. I noticed in one scene that the 'roll bar' tilted upwards under heavy braking. It tilted upwards so that passengers could get into the backseat!

I notice that some seats don't have headreasts or holes for them in the top of the seats and some do. A lot of the replicas of the General Lee have seats with headreasts. I'm into slot cars and they always have the seats with headreasts but only the Pioneer slot car has seats that look like Charger seats. The Scalextric slot car has an integral headreast and I've never seen a seat like that in a '69 Charger

Well, not exactly. 89,199 chargers were built in 69. 96,100 in 68, and nearly another 50,000 in 70. 208,000 chargers in 3 years. The dukes wrecked 325 ( give or take a few). Where the hell the rest of them are, who know.
