Yeah the early ones were the best. Great mix of cars in those episodes and the writing was a lot grittier.

The comic scenes were still funny, the action scenes were still awesome, and there was plenty of other things that adults would like in this. Just goes to show that you don't need to fill an adult show with as much vulgarity, sex, gore, or etc. as possible.

One of a very few times Rosco actually acted like a real cop and was stern. Instead of his bumbling self. Jimmy's depth at any role was exceptional.

I wish the show had continued on like this for the rest of its run. The show became too slapstick later on, and they never should have relocated to California.

I remember when DOH premiered. Advertising for the show on CBS had been strong over the summer. My brother and I couldn't wait. And we were not disappointed. From the opening credits, we just looked at each other and were like heck yeah! My mom was kind of like c'mon boys lets watch something else. My brother grabbed the remote and wouldn't give it up. But by the first commercial break, she was hooked too. She had crushes on Bo, Luke, and Roscoe. hehehe. Then after the show ended we would grab our model cars and reenact the show so she could watch Dallas in peace.

I grew up in the 70s .and loved this show alot. And you can't take that away. The general Lee was a great car. Any how it was about a family name duke. And running moonshine. 😊

The back ground trees and slight fog you can tell it was filmed here in the south on a drooy rainy day or in the morning hours, I still travel these old roads rather on the express way. No Such Luck I don’t know if I would’ve called early Rosco evil. But I agree. I understand it was James Best’s Idea to play Rosco as a child (his own words). I also understand that at the very end, by the second reunion movie, he felt the character had been taken too far that way.
