Definitely NASCAR's inability to throw the caution at Daytona last August. It was literally raining when they were on the backstretch the lap before. They had so much time to throw the caution but they didn't. And it backfired badly.

@windrose5988 It was more down to the stewards making a mess of the rules. First they delayed telling Ferrari about the decision until after the deadline to inform them had passed, and then applied the wrong penalty.I'd say the weirdest (or most farcical) in F1 were either the 2005 US GP, or 2021 Belgian GP.

yeah there was an F1 race in like 2009 i think it was and even with rain tires the cars wouldn't stick and all drifted off the track haha...so rain tires aren't perfect lmao

@@BigOleMattypretty tough with all the oils and chemicals layered in the track on top of all the rubber, they do a great job with track prep and such, but you can only do so much and that turns it into a slip in slide like wet clay

Here's some dumb moments you forgot to mention: 1. Kevin Lepage wrecking almost an entire field of cars just trying to merge on to the track at Talladega back in 2007 2. Kyle Busch wrecking Ron Hornaday out of spite at Texas back in 2011 3. A lot of cars bunching up in one turn almost blocking the way at Chicago last week

Kyle Busch wrecking Hornaday wasn't all that dumb in my opinion. People forget that a year or so prior, Ron wrecked Busch and ruined his chances at a title. It was eye for an eye, and Ron had it coming.

HOW?! Darrell Waltrip is what makes NASCAR fun on TV! Even if you're not a NASCAR fan, his iconic line of "Boogity boogity BOOGITY! Let's go racing!" line is amazing and is often a meme being used in multiple race series be it in GT Racing, TC racing or even F1. It's just that iconic.

I'd personally argue about NHMS only being wet in turns 1 & 2. I was there and for the final 3 pace laps, it absolutely started coming down relatively steady. Not a heavy rain, but a very consistent rain, everywhere. When they went green, my buddy and I looked at each other in absolute shock, and then were immediately unshocked when no one had any grip at all.

@@HighSideHustler81 That same race also gave me a greater appreciation for camera exposure. I was always on the side that Martinsville 2015 was dark, but it definitely didn't seem as bad as they said. When they ended this race, it was like phone illuminate your entire face dark. I couldn't make out the car numbers on the back stretch and its only a mile track. I came online after to fans having watched on TV saying it wasn't that dark and it made me chuckle at myself.

I was at that 2021 new Hampshire race. My bestfriend and i were in line getting food and we hear the stands going wild. He looks at me goes "what do you think happen". I replied "2 things happen either kyle busch wrecked or chase elliott took the lead". We get back to our seats to see the replays and I was right on both guesses

If you recall Hamlin almost wrecked too. The fastest two cars that year should never have been in the situation they were in at Martinsville. We were robbed of, in my opinion, the most fun rivalry of my lifetime. Nothing over cartoony, no unnecessary drama, just two great drivers and great teams, that so happened to be really good at the same tracks. We'll never know how well Harvick, or Hamlin for that matter would have ran, had Harvick been at Phoenix. (I firmly believe Hamlin would have had a much better car that day if Harvick was in the final 4, because those two teams pushed each other to greatness). Apologies for the long winded response, but that bs by nascar is the most underrated screwjob of all time

I was at an F1 race in Malaysia, a 3rd of the way into the race a huge (and typical) downpour came, the tropical all the water in the world droped from the sky in just 15 mins, but untypically the rain didnt stop after 15 mins... it went on and on until the race was called. But before it was called these F1 cars were doing only 30mph and STILL sliding around like they were on ice, i was seated by a wicked turn and every car ended up in the grass on that one, spinning grass and mud as they slowly got back onto the track. Oh and the whole parking area tuned into knee deep mud at the same time all of the spectators left the stands, and all at once and quickly as it was still raining, people were covered in mud and falling down everywhere, was hilarious!

Both The Bubba Wallace/Kyle Larson Ordeal and The Chase Elliott/Denny Hamlin Ordeal are virtually identical Considering that Kyle Busch was the cause of the very previous caution prior to each incident, Kevin Harvick was literally in the picture ahead of both Incidents and Team Penske won both events

RE Announcing. I announce local motocross races, and I can tell you for a fact it is very hard to balance calling the race, covering for downtime (cautions in NASCAR, injuries in motocross), injecting humor, AND keeping energy up for the fans. (The energy part is even harder when you also compete in a race or two the same day like I do.) So it is easy for announcers to get tongue tied, mess up names, or say random stuff in the heat of the moment. And working the same tracks every season as I do, it is also hard to come up with new on mic material. But it still is a lot of fun!

"I've heard that Zane Smith isn't the leading driver to replace McDowell in the #34 Ford Mustang for FRM. It's unclear if he will get the seat, but it seems both him and Aric Almirola have rides in either the Truck or Xfinity series full-time, with maybe some cup starts, as both drivers have stated that their retirements are from full-time cup series competition. Andretti still needs a driver, so does The Wood Brothers, Meyer Shanks Racing seems to have their driver, Kaulig may have a seat open, and I've heard that maybe Austin Dillon is retiring, and Tyler Reddick may be looking for a way out of 23XI, as he's not run the way he has been promised."😊

Hold on. He starts by blaming NASCAR for rain/wet track? The driver is responsible for handling his equipment. If a wet track puts him into the wall, that's on him.
