Still remember that ine time I was tired of cargo grinds in my Type-9 and swapped out my Eagle for a spin. I subconsciously boosted through the mail slot and never felt so fast in my entire life.

Eagle Mk.II a Fighter that as newer more capable designs emerged started to show it's fragility. So it found a new use as a Racer. Much like the P-51 Mustang from Old Earth a couple Millennia ago.

"Its a ship you can buy and outfit for the price of a size 6 cargo rack" really put things into perspetive in a funny way, I liked the video, although I am starting to notice a trend with you and small combat ships :p

I’ve always thought that the Eagle Mk 2 you buy from shipyards were second hand - a ship so popular and produced in such great numbers that you could pretty much find one anywhere.

In the right hands this ship can beat the hell out of you. I was in my Vulture and... this dude overtured me so goddamn fast i cannot even look at him... I know he was there just because my sensors and his kicks in the ass... told me that. Escaping in hyperdrive was the only option.

I only own 1 eagle, and it doesn't have guns, they add unnecessary weight. That bird can turn on a time and go so fast the paint peels off in space. I know the viper has a higher top speed, but it cant turn, its like taking a dragster to a road rally, and the eagle is an incredible rally craft. My racing station is crown orbital in pareco if anyone wants to race

The Eagle was the first ship I bought in Elite, and I still love it dearly. I only wish it was as good at fighting as it is at flying. Perhaps I need to engineer the piss out of it and learn to use fixed weapons (I've always been more of an explorer), but if I never do, I'll still love it for all the things I did in it before I moved on to other ships.

The Eagle is a wonderful ship that's marketed in completely the wrong way. It has no place in combat except as a target drone. No, the Eagle is a racer! Take one through canyons (preferably in VR) and you'll see it doing what it was meant to do. Unlock its full potential with some engineering and prepare to be amazed and thrilled! Just make sure your life insurance is paid up. Great vid as always, and I always love getting a bit of new lore I didn't know.

I love the eagle. Yeah it pops quicker than a teenager on prom night, but the fun before the inevitable pop, makes up for the rebuy.

Using the Eagle is worth it just for looks. They fit in with most of the Starwars ships better than the rest of the Elite line up.

Several years ago a group of friends and I bought ourselves a wing of Eagles to go bounty hunting for a CG. We figured it would be risky, and being newish players we wanted to cut down on any rebuy costs. We didn't lose a single ship, and several years on not only was it the most fun I ever had in ED , but my Eagle is the only ship I have that hasn't been destroyed. I love my Eagle

Heh! My screenshot of reaching Combat Elite is in my G5 engineered Eagle, but you are correct speed, skill and understanding of this ship is what makes it great.

The last experimental build I tried had 2 mine launchers engineered to damage the shield generator directly. Fly in front, bait them to hit the mines, use the railgun from miles away to snipe modules.

My favorite ship in the game. I've spent nearly all my time playing elite in the Eagle.

This was the starter ship in Elite Frontier, which came in a paler green, its a great little ship to fly but Im not good enough to take it to the fight, so I use it as a bubble bus.

These videos really helped me appreciate this game so much more. Seeing someone passionate about their ships has made me realize another aspect of why people like this game and continue to play. I was struggling to find a satisfying amount of enjoyment from this game till watching a few of these videos. Having just bought a krait mk2 after being in an asp explorer for about 3 years, I had realized the enjoyment was already there. I had looked back and started missing my asp, and reminised about all I've experienced and accomplished in that ship. Although I may not have accomplished more than others in the past 3 years the experience was all my own. With that being said I can't say that any other game I've played makes me feel as sentimental about my time playing it as elite dangerous.

Ayup. The _Eagle_ was the first ship that I bought, both because it was so cheap and because its jump range allowed me to exit the newbie system. A shame that it has that awful default green color, but these days I keep an iEagle in the garage with the midnight black paint job. Like any sports car it rarely leaves the garage and only for brief trips, but it's fun to fly.

Only time I fly my Eagle is with the other Eagles of "Bastille Squadron"

As a Combat pilot, the Eagle Mk II was the first ship I ever bought. I've since moved on to the Mamba, since it turns out I very much prefer high-speed strafing runs over dogfighting. And yet, even though the style of combat the Eagle offered wasn't for me, I will NEVER forget the feeling of freedom it gave me as compared to the starting Sidewinder. The Eagle was the ship that opened my eyes, and helped me begin to see what Elite Dangerous is all about. For that, I will be eternally grateful. I'm in the middle of engineering my Mamba right now, and I'm absolutely in love with this ship, but I wouldn't have gotten here without the Eagle paving the way for me :)

I simply love my eagle and prefer flying it over all the other ships, I named it "Renegade". Its insane maneuverability is simply addictive to me. I'm running 3 engineered Multicannons on mine, High capacity with Auto loader, because endless Dakka never gets old :D and the Red Ignition Paintjob makes it look extra awesome.

to me the thruster sound of the Eagle sounds like the vipers from Battlestar Galatica. i honestly love the eagle and would love a new Mk of it at some point but still keep the David Vs Goliath feel of it

Myself and a couple of friends were flying a wing of these for a while. While the "Eagle Party" never went any further than Low Intensity CZ, it was rare we ever lost a wingman. And the Haz RES? We went to CZ because it was too easy, and I can't say we're an overly skilled bunch, either.

For a new pilot just looking to change out your Sidewinder though, the Eagle is a great choice. It's really fun and entertaining to fly and is pretty much a straight upgrade in almost every way from the Sidewinder... And also it's fun to fly~

The best way to use this ship IMO is to put a 1c Biweave shield generator on it, engineered armor, and frag cannons, 1 Incendiary, 1 Corrosive, 1 drag munitions, in High/Res so you have support. One of the funnest ships in the game

The Eagle is what we think commercially available spaceships will look like. basically an F-18 in space at least early on because we are not developing the technology to breach atmosphere with a ship with a worse drag coefficient than an apartment block

IMO it is one of the prettiest ships in the game. Like a flower pretty but delicate.

While it will certainly never be the most capable fighter in the game, the Eagle is definitely my favorite. Its ridiculous maneuverability makes it an absolute joy to fly, and when properly engineered it's more of a threat than you'd think. And of course, there's that dead sexy silhouette to boot. Mine packs dual railguns and cruises at 460m/s. Quick and deadly. And with what's effectively over 200mj of fast-recharging shielding it can survive in a CZ indefinitely as long as you keep moving.

Well a control element with a greater distance from the centre of rotation does give more torque and therefore better control and handling. Hence wings in space and in atmosphere.

This is on of my favourite Ships. Its really good for bounty hunting in the Starting systems, and getting a good amount of money. I used it to get a Cobra MkIII and i did no cargo missions. Just scanning at low and medium RES. 3 hardpoints, easy to aim and can outfly god, when a good pilot is controlling it. And the rebuy is cheap, so i can go back to destroying NPC Diamondback/Asp scouts. I used 2 pulse lasers and 1 multi-cannon, no gimbal, but the manouverability does More than make up for it. Tip when flying it: When you get a bounty that is good enough, fly away to a Station. You dont want to get destroyed with 150 thousand credits of a bounty. NOTE: i am a beginner.

Cheap enough to the point where a wing of these would cost less to replace than the repair bill of any ship lucky enough to survive them. Always dreamed of being a part of a "Rogue Squadron."

Your doing it wrong! The eagle is the one ship you use fixed weapons on. Trust me. It makes a good pilot out of you. Better combat training than even the vulture. The eagle was my first "upgrade" from the sidewinder. I ran fixed lasers on it. Fun as hell.

this ship literally gives me vibe from the 1998 Incoming game by Rage Software. especially the small alien fighter that you see throughout the campaign (while the Python gives me vibe of the Orbital Fighter, even though the Python is way bigger) plus it has an amazing boosting sound. I just love it

this ship is what made me the bounty hunter that i am and i ALWAYS have one fitted MAGFUFFNLY well because it can make anyone confident in to a joker as you dance around them , i love this thing in asteroid fields against anything , 2 beams and one missile rack , before you to know it i have stripped you out of your guns and drives , this ship made me learn how to fly without the flight assistant on , this ship made me learn how to aim fixed weapons so using small fighters from bigger ships bay became easy , this ship made me love racing , made me play Ace Combat Zero music when ever i want to fight , this is the top guns in space , this ship is where you find out if you are out to be an ACE pilot or a base pilot , this is the Eagle

True, you need a wing of Eagles to be effective in a battle. But in a game that's best described GRIND UNTIL YOU DIE you and a group of friends can go bounty hunting with minimal rebuy costs and make a decent profit to buy a better ship like the Vulture or something. Engineering the Eagle helps. But for all that effort you can just GRIND and save up to get the Vulture.

I personally would get the frame shift drive from the hauler and put it on the eagle so it can be a little small exploration ship

The Eagle is the not just the best looking and most maneuverable ship in the galaxy... it is the most fun to fly with friends. The Eagle is what it claims to be, a long range fighter, and what would Elite Dangerous be without a good looking long range fighter? There is nothing like flying in a small gang, a small wing of Eagles, attacking with hit and run tactics like a pack of wolves, taking turns biting then evading larger pray. The larger ship will resort to getting occasional hits, which do nothing once the attacked Eagle recharge its shield out of reach, only to then rinse and repeat while the gang keeps the prey buisy. The worst thing the enemy can do is focus on you as you evade with superior manuverablility and speed, and thereby turn its back on the rest of your gang. This is why I think the Eagle is better name the Wolf, because in a pack ... it chews the larger pray to bits, one bite at a time. My best advice is if you wana be a good Eagle pilot, join a gang, and study the nature channel on how wolves hunt.

If I could change my Asp Explorer to look like the Eagle i'd be a happy man.

I love this ship and how it handles, and I hate how bad it performs (in contrast to basically all other combat ships). I have one set up as a Thargoid Scout Hunter with Guardian Gauss Cannons. Requires an awefull lot of engineering and still you have to take breaks of a bout 30+ seconds so it could cool down after each salvo. In other words: it performes as worse as one would think and I would NOT recommend it as a Thargoid Scout Hunter. But I had more fun with this ship and this build in particular then in ANY other ship I have flown and fought in so far! :D (The fact that the Scouts do not hit that hard also helps, of cause.)

I really enjoyed my Eagle. I liked to take mine on planetary ground strikes. Just to speed around and pull off fly bys. It was fun.

The Eagle is the ship I really cut my teeth on on my way to a Vulture. It's all about hit and run tactics honestly unless you are, as you mentioned, in a wing. Love that little ship. I never sold it. Still take it to nav points for some mindless combat fun from time to time!

Eagles are just hardcore mode for combat pilots who think Vipers are too easy. Like the different parts of Voltron, the ship itself is pointlessly underpowered unless combined with friends. The same is true regardless of whatever you're flying, so that just makes flying the eagle a bar bet on how long before you go pop.

The aqua and orange Gulf Racing livery is so damn good on everything!

An Eagle with a railgun and two multicannons is my current favorite non-mining money maker going to High resource zones and helping the local law enforcement.

i prefer to overload this baby so hard that whenever i deploy hardpoints everything up from and including my life support goes offline. it gives you a convenient counter on how long your fights take, really.

I've been using my Eagle to make money hanging out at Nav beacons. With help (from the police) I've been able to take out a lot of ships bigger than me. If it's a bad run, I might die once an hour? Given that I make a little over $1m, replacement costs are negligible enough to want to keep using it. I replaced the wing cannons with autocannons, upgraded everything else. It's not gonna take out a thargoid, but for what it does it's fun belly strafing bigger ships.

You neglected to mention how great the Eagle is for racing and speed bowling on high g worlds. Its also fun for aerobatics inside space stations and cheap enough to allow the odd explosion here and there. When you lose an Eagle in a fight it costs you less to rebuy than a take away pizza.

Only once I got to the Krait MK II I started appreciating the eagle. Sold my Krait. Now I'm a proud owner of both the Imperial and the "regular" Eagle :)

Nice video, buddy. For me the Eagle was always the best looking and most fun-to-fly ship, hands down. In a pack, deadly and different to carrier fighters able to operate more freely. The lack of punch was the biggest problem. Until now - with Engineer support, this ship can be made both even more fun to fly AND pack a considerable punch while easily staying alive in skilled hands. I got a version built that simply is incredible. Find me on Inara if you want to see it.

I like the Eagle. I really do. But I feel like, if you aren't running at least 2 railguns, you're doing it wrong. And that's probably why, as much as I do love it, it will never be my main combat ship. That said, when I went on Distant Worlds 2, I took a Krait, but when I got to Omega Mining and we needed a ship to do the security CG, I shipped in my Eagle. I earned 6 million credits in bounties in it and only died twice, which was more than the cost of the whole ship, plus the cost to ship it over 7,000ly, twice over. That was the first and only time I've ever gotten Top 10% in any CG ever, but of course I was 7,000ly from the bubble and nobody else brought guns. And I shipped it out there despite the fact that my Phantom had guns too. Yes, I paid a million credits to get the ship with half the DPS and a third as much shielding out there, and used THAT to get Top 10% in a combat CG. The Eagle is just that much fun. As to doing it wrong...a good Eagle pilot is basically the SAS of Elite pilots: "Who Dares Wins."

I use the Eagle for light cargo, courier, and bounty hunting missions. This is a ship not meant for heavy combat zones
