Күн бұрынThe greatest soap opera of all time was The Edge of Night, canceled over 20 years ago. This little video is my idea of what the opening credit might look like if it was still on the air today. I tried my best to capture the look and feel of the best of its opening credits in the early 80's, using the "action theme" music (which still holds up remarkably well) and modern visuals. Enjoy. (The Edge of Night is a property of Proctor & Gamble and this video is an entertainment-only fan-produced tribute.)

Who disliked this video? It is so good! I LOVE how the image of the girl has a red hue at 0:28. I'm not sure if this was intended or random, but this is EXACTLY like the color fade done in the early 80s on the final cast member image shown in the opening credits. For a time, the color change was on Draper's image and later Raven's image featured the color hue. This was a nice throwback. Incredible!

Thanks for your work! My twin brother & I loved the show when we were young and think your vision of a modern main title is exactly on target. And the theme does hold up incredibly well!

Wow, very nice! Great job at capturing the essence of the old beginning but modernizing it! And it takes place in Chicago!

i agree with adelgado75. u should definitely send this to procter & gamble. i'd love to see edge back on the air where it belongs. we all miss the show so much! it'd be perfect for modern day issues. EXCELLENT job creating that opening.

If there was a new version of The Edge Of Night, it should be online and CBS Interactive should air it!!!

I miss this show so much... and I had never even seen it until AOL began hosting episodes online a couple of years ago. That came to an abrupt end, so now I'm stuck in 1980... Hulu, KZfaq, Anybody: Please pick up where AOL left off and bring Edge of Night back to its online audience!

This is one soap that they should bring back! Its premise should work just as well today as it did when it premiered over 50 years ago. I really like the "what-if" premise of this posting. If I were you, I'd present the idea to a reputable agent and P and G - who knows where you'd go with this.

Having watched this again now, I believe I like this better than your 2013 version (though both are great). This music was so much better than the later versions of the theme. I wish you had done the opening credit & theme for the return of OLTL. Snoop Dogg.. Lion.. Meerkat.. whatever is not particularly adept at composing TV themes.

I missed this one. Some great clips, I like the helicopter from this one but your other openings are better and creepier in a good way.

THIS IS GOOD, but nothing really compares to the original opening, with the sinister piano keys playing those creepy notes - I tell you, there was nothing scarier than watching this show on a stormy rainy afternoon!

This a great opener, very generic an ddoesn't offer any specific inclusion of any one character. In this way it could be an "evergreen" opener no because matter who enters or departs the show it still works. Great theme. Thanks for keeping it.

Would be fantastic to see an FX or USA modern day version of Edge produced by perhaps Dick Wolf or even Jerry Bruckheimer. I think that would be a nice change of pace for both producers.

ABC is not going to pick it up again. They are already cancelling AMC and OLTL. I think NBC should cut two hours off the Today show, return the 9-11 timeslot to affiliates, and bring back both "Another World" and "The Edge of Night." This would be a perfect opening to the new version of "The Edge Of Night." The NBC daytime schedule can have DOOL at 1, AW at 2, and TEON at 3. Edge can also be the first soap to appear on three different networks.

ABC should bring back the"The Edge of Night" 21st century style. I think the show would be a hit, not like all these cop shows you see now.. YUCK..!!! Back in the day it was the show to watch. Please ABC Bring back edge of night.
